Using zip ties is GENIUS!!! I totally need to try this with my daughter's wheelchair. It would be INSANELY useful when we go on walks, or go anywhere really. Thanks for the tip & review!

I mentioned this in the video but just make sure the little nubs are faced away from her legs. You don't want to risk sores or bruising, especially if she has limited feeling in her legs. They do really well as long as you do them very tightly. The more you add the better. At least 2-3 per spot because if one randomly breaks, the whole thing won't fall off. This is particularly helpful when traveling.

Hi Lindsey! I have only been on wheels for the last eight years, and honestly JUST discovered that there actually ARE accessories for making life easier! My poor hubby has heard me complain about no cup holder, because I can’t wheel myself with a drink in my hand. My band-aid to the situation was to buy a Fossil cross-body style attaché bag which holds not only my Contigo, phone, umbrella, and wallet, but also any work I was taking home. Now that I work from home, it seems ridiculously big to drag around with me. I am excited to see exactly what is out there!

I’m so glad you’re discovering the accessories out there because there are quite a few things out there that can be really helpful. Check out my cooking videos and really my entire disability-related playlist because I show a lot of items and tips in those videos that I hope will help. I also might have to do a video specifically on some of the newer stuff I’ve found that I like too.😊

Your current holder is actually a water bottle holder meant for a bicycle. I used them for 35 years on my bicycle as I put in 300, 000 miles. They worked great on a bicycle but weren't mean for things other than a water bottle, though I used them to carry many other things. Some time they worked an sometimes not. Now that I'm in a wheelchair, I to am looking for a good carrier and other things. Maybe we're to small a market but I'll definitely look at what you presented.

I looked at many years ago. I found that they were either not well thought out or to expensive. Then one day I was passing the bike accessories area of a store and they had what looked like the perfect holder. It had a pliable holder with a metal frame. The pliable part is adjustable. On my chair it is mounted on with tie straps also. What I like is that it folds back a bit when not in use so it's out of the way. And yes, I'm very rough on my chair so anything solid sticking out would get broken within days. I have had mine for 6 years and had to repair one part of the holder straps which is rubber to a piece of leather. Glad I bought 2 and these should last me forever. And sadly, no, I have never seen them again nor anything that would work as well. So those things your showing I would most likely destroy in days.

I ended up giving it away to a friend who needed one but I can tell you that it does a good job going over bumps. It’s just loud when you have something in the cup holder, especially if it’s a glass bottle, so I would say maybe line it with foam to make it quieter. That would also help keep smaller cans in there more snug.

Hi, did you continue to use this cup holder?

I still have it as a back up, but I still prefer my bike cup holder just because it’s minimalistic, although this one is bigger, which is nice.
