Old friends are the best. I spent some time with one of my besties the other day and I get to spend a day and night with another bestie at the end of the week. They know you and understand you and always make you feel better. That was a good tart to your video. Nancy’s haircut looks great. I’ve been several times and it’s a must do! She works at market both days, at the end of the day brings back her store haul and we get the opportunity to purchase it from her that weekend. I love seeing all of your stitching projects, it’s inspiring to see charts that I’ve never seen before. The crown fabric is awesome,so many possibilities. The turkey charts are great and the Fox chart is wonderful Thanks for sharing! Red and Blue are my favorite colors, if I was going to change a color for patriotic stitching I would do a more faded red and faded blue for a sun washed look.
Haircuts look great, ladies. I would change out the blue on a red, white, and blue piece. There are a lot of flags that are yellow, red, and white. Summer is definitely here in my corner of America. Happy stitching!

I enjoyed seeing your progress on your current wips, all looking so great. Nancy, I love your new haircut, it suits you so well. My daughter just made the most delicious rasberry scones, and she did the same recipe again and deleted the rasberries and added cheese and they were so delicious too. She said she found the recipe on pintrest. That pattern might look cute changing the red to purple and adding in a bright yellow as that makes me think of summer pansies. ❤. Lovely video ladies! I typically cool down my patriot colors. A softer red is a must. My favorite recipe is my mom’s summer tomato cucumber salad. Home grown tomatoes, cucumbers, a wee bit of red onion, a can of garbanzo beans (rinsed) and her homemade Italian dressing. Oil, red cider vinegar and Italian seasoning. Me- I’m just used the bottle Olive Garden dressing. YUM! ❤

My favorite *summer* holiday destination is Norway so I have stitched some patriotic charts with the same colors and if there has been a flag I have stitched the flag of Norway.

I love stitching red, white, and blue, esp in the summer. I usually don’t change colors. I’ve done it in the past and didn’t like the results so I stick with the original colors when I can.
Summer colors can change the red to orange shade or pink shade of red. I was so happy to see your video pop up. Def Leppard hehehe. I am more of a linen or evenweave stitcher.

Wow I love Foxy Fall. Would love to find that pattern. The fabric is perfect for it. Jenny I wanted to drive down and see you when I got to Billings. I was so exhausted it didn't happen. Be thankful I didn't, I have been sick since I got home. My husband got sick as well. We both finally today decided we are healthy again. Woo woo!
I have stitched on a few bags the Shepherds Bush designs Spring, Samplers, Quilt, & Thankful. Now I'm back working on L of the F. While in Idaho I got to see my son after 3 years was great to see my retired Airman.

Oh the turkey pattern is so cute. I have turkey day and I believe I have all the threads and fabric. I know I took it with me to Hobby House Landing to get it kitted up.
Nancy have you thought of using Murky for your grey fabric. I love Heidi the Potty Mouth Stitcher she is a riot. Her floss drops are gorgeous. I also purchased fabric for Annie's patterns. I need that Patriotic Quaker pattern. I watched Comfort Stitching it was awesome. Can you tell I type while watching you two. Summer is finally here and red is my favorite color. I guess Patriotic is for the ewe. You never said. I have stuff for several Sals but not started them yet. So glad you all popped up tonight I just needed to see you all. When you stitch on high count linen and you use a single thread do you still go over two threads? Will have to think about a recipe.
Tami, glad you are on the mend. Our paths will meet someday. I do stitch 1 floss over two linen on 36, but I’m learning.

Oh my gosh!! My grandma used to make Grape Nuts Pudding all the time!! It’s more like a custard. I finally in the early 2000’s contacted General Mills and asked if they knew of the recipe. The customer service rep was completely taken aback, and a couple days later I got an email with the recipe!!!
It was a new one for us. I do love grapenuts

Great day to watch your video. I enjoyed seeing your stitching and finishes. Both of your haircuts look perfect! It’s always nice to see how each person changes their colors. I am doing the summer camp 2024 that the Colorado cross stitcher, I really want to see how different colors go together. I seem to not like yellows as they always seem to pop out at me!

Hi Ladies x I don't think we are going to get a Summer here in UK , it is still wet and cold here in June, we even had a moment of Hail lol.I would not have to change the Red as the Union Flag is same colours .I saw Sherrie say about Patriotic stitching and immediately thought of you two, 🌞My Daughter takes lots of photos of herself on my phone if I leave it unattended too. I dont enjoy small linen but I do like 28ct evenweave or any size Aida x
Summer is a great time to stitch patriotic in red. I am finding more 20 count Aida, all the time. I do think Nancy’s hair fits here. Happy Stitching ladies. And have a great social.

I'm in MN and saw on the news tonight that you had a highway collapse in Wyoming. Hope you're still able to get where you need to be. Stay safe.
There are different routes through the teatime mountains, but that one that collapsed was the most scenic and shortest.

My husband and son are willing to take me to a needlework shop when we travel, however they are always standing to the side taking bets on how much money I'm gonna spend! 😂

On 36 CT stitched 1 over 2 your fabric needs to be 25 by 24 which includes a 3 inch border. Stitched size is 18.88 by 17.77 for the PUB project.

Interested in Summer
Thanks for such a great and positive Flosstube. I would change out red for green. I could still decorate for summer with those colors, maybe nautical. Some people keep up patriotic decorations all year, celebrating our freedom. I just had homemade ravioliso at my cousins 60th birthday party, and they tasted just like the ones my grandma used to make with my mom and all my aunts in the kitchen.

We are not this year, but plan to next year. My 30th wedding anniversary is at that time and we are going to Scotland. The stitchers there are amazing. You will really enjoy it.

I have no issues changing colours on your patriotic pieces…even changing the shade of blue to lighter and red to peach is enough to make it look summer vs patriotic American. I can’t sit to see your stockings. The haircuts are fabulous.
