As I said in a reply, I saw the Spinanes headline a show in support of their second album Strand. It's hard to believe it was over 20 years ago. I met Rebecca Gates after the show and got her autograph. She was nice about it. Good show! Still one of my favorite bands. Still sad today when they broke up.
I was at some show in Pontiac MI on top of a parking garage in.... 1995? Maybe it was afghan whigs headlining a radio station sponsored festival and she was there listening to the other bands.
I know. I was listening to them back in '93 i believe. That whole scene just up and vanished. Im in my late 40's now and i still blast alt rock. Horrifies my son im sure lmao
sub pop video network! this one was on program 3 with a classic line-up inc. eric's trip/sebadoh/seaweed/SDRE/pond/velocity girl/afghan whigs... nearly wore out the vhs tape.
I hate to admit it but I forgot about this band for over a decade even though I loved this album. At some point, I lost the CD. Came across the name on another video and said to myself "I seem to remember that band" All the memories of that period of my life came back at the first chord.
I saw them on tour (I can't remember who they were opening for). They were pretty cool people and the show was good as well. It was kind of funny as Rebecca had a fairly small Marshall amp she plugged into that sat on a folding chair. Enjoyed the show a lot though.

Never forget seeing this on 120 min. on MTV, anyone else miss that show?
Yes indeed mate
120 Minutes is the only good reason to be watching MTV - at least since they aired reruns of Monkees episodes in 1986.
yes
I got this album when it first came out, a lifetime ago. I am happy that it still haunts me.
Maybe I should start wearing my old Spinanes T-shirt I bought back on the 90's. It's been in a box for some years.
Give it to me.
Was trying to describe this band and video to friends for a decade. I was helped by no one, but I finally found it. I now listen to it 3x a day.
Phil Ward it’s like that Smith’s video but better!!
I used to love this and I still have the single - great to hear it again and the 90s were the best time for way out cool indie records like this! (",)
Heart & Soul here. Authenticity....It screams off the screen
Wow hall in Eugene... best 2 person show i have ever seen. A few years ago lol
Saw them at Camden Underground back in the day, cool band.
It was a great time to be alive in Portland
One of the great bands that ninties gived birth.....love it!!

Diablo X Machina Afghan Whigs? Superchunk? That’s who I saw them open for...
I saw them with fugazi.

God I loved this band.
Same here.
What's really weird...this whole scene just disappeared
or became a shell of their former self.
Where did alt rock go?
@@mrd6869Well it's gotten smaller, but it's alive. Scotty left it though, he is a baker now. Apparently hasn't held drumsticks in a decade now.
Such good memories, awwwww.
Still wrecks me.
Cool bike...
90's returns
If I heard this song on radio, I would have thought it’s Mary Timony.
time went by too quickly for me. I remember watching this video for the first time on 120 Minutes. then, heading out to a nightclub.
One of the best bands from the 90s …so underrated it’s not funny
Oh !😀
Está chica si canta de Puta Madre.
I'm a square and that makes you giddy
The White stripes a decade earlier. Better lyrics better band less recognition.
Oh my. Is this about a three-way? Rebecca, put your clothes on and get outta that Studebaker right this minute, young lady!
shes kind of almost pretty but not quite. probably a gem in the grunge scene in those days lol.
