    Oh JB Ball! A ❤‍🔥stone ❤‍🔥cold ❤‍🔥killer. Some great younger comics now, (JB in particular) are treating this art form with the nuance of a "Trojan Horse" raising the bar of cultural discourse through razor wit and punches. The great unwashed (aka The Audience) would be wise to think deep, process more and find a sense of humor about EVERYTHING. Follow The Jesters OUT! 💋🤘🔥

    You don't see Africans going for hikes or on safari. Africans use bicycles to get to work, not for leisure. I lived in Zimbabwe in the 1980s. Africans walked kilometres and kilometres every day and didn't understand who would walk for pleasure....😞

    • @Dragon_Fyre
      @Dragon_Fyre Рік тому +11

      Context alone explains that…
      If you are talking about western society, people go for walks or out biking for 1. Exercise, where maybe they have a sedentary lifestyle otherwise in their jobs or 2. Getting back to nature. They go for walks, biking etc. on lovely nature trails, beaches, through beautiful public parks with gardens and tranquil ponds with perhaps a lovely fountain or a view of a waterfall etc. The wildlife might be fish in those ponds, birds singing in the trees, maybe you see some dogs at the park, perhaps some squirrels. They go only when the weather is good… and if they get tired, they can just stop any time they want… or take a break on the nearest bench.
      In Africa, some poor villager, with no concept of a sedentary lifestyle, walking 10 kilometres to get their water and hauling it back in a bucket for the 10 kilometre return trip, where if there is wildlife that they come across, it may want to eat them (perhaps vice versa) and the scenery is flat savannah as far as the eyes can see with some mountains in the distance, some scarce trees for scant shade from the sun, scorching heat etc.
      There may… just maybe mind you, might be a difference in the experiences of those two demographics.

    In the original story the King is on one of his hunts, and he finds a beautiful house deep in the forest with a sleeping girl upstairs in a bed. He spends several nights with her, says he in love with the unconscious woman. He goes to visit her there regularly over a period of many years, until ultimately her baby is born to him while she is still under the spell, and the baby dislodges the poison that kept her asleep by sucking on her finger while trying to nurse, and she wakes up. So, now a mother, she’s fearful of the King when he returns to do what he is there to do, she doesn’t know him and is afraid he will harm her or her child. He tells her that she is to stay there and be in that house for his visits. He assigns guards to prevent her from leaving the house where she will remain compliant to protect and secure food and resources for her child. She has another baby.
    His wife, the Queen, ultimately follows behind him and sees what he’s been doing, sees that her own position is threatened by the son and the youth of this girl, (who, btw, begs her for help) so she waits on him to leave and then she arranges for the children to be baked into pies while the girl will be killed somehow. Yada yada yada, king comes back to get his usual, finds the queen, and in his rage burns her alive or some other incredibly gruesome death.
    The King is made out to be the hero of that story.
    In the movie, he is so moved by her beauty that he, without knowing it will save her, kisses her.
    Your perspective on these things might change if you had ever accidentally made the mistake of dozing off, falling asleep, or passing out and then finding out that Prince Charming thinks you look “beautiful.” These things start when boys and girls are brought up learning that ideal romance is a fairy tale; and a _fairy tale_ kiss, half of the time, doesn’t need for the girl to be awake or interested. Hell, you could be a stranger. Girls are your well earned prize for being gallant, your reward for developing any feelings for a gal in the first place, and gatekeepers of pleasure that are not permitted to seek out or prioritize any of their own.
    Turning consent into a kink for the man to enjoy to make it interesting enough to laugh at is… predictable. But yeah I get it.

      First, the original is from the Brothers Grimm. They were basically horror stories for children.
      In regards to the Disney movie, which most would consider the canonical version:
      This summary skips over important details or context.
      First, they both meet earlier and he becomes enamoured with her for her beauty, as she is allegedly the fairest (most beautiful) in all the kingdom (though it is her singing that first draws him to her). They end up parting and it is not until much later in the film when she is believed to be dead (the 7 dwarves put her in a glass coffin instead of burying her) that he hears of her death. He remembers their encounter and is so saddened by her parting (everyone believes her dead not asleep from a curse) that he sings to her and gives her a kiss good-bye, which to everyone’s surprise, breaks the magical curse. There is nothing sexual in the kiss. In fact, it would only have broken the curse if he truly loved her.
      It’s a simplistic love at first sight fairy tale romance but that is hardly anything to get upset over… I mean, it was written 86 years ago!
      You cannot even fault Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for the tropes about women being Princesses and marrying their Prince Charming because that came well after 1937 when Disney saw people eating this stuff up and a chance to make a ton of money repeating the true loves kiss concept ad nauseum.
      Sure, women were indoctrinated by Disney over generations to believe in a fairy tale romance and that if they could just marry a prince charming they could live happily ever after; Men were indoctrinated across generations to believe wars were about glory and honour… Who do you think drew the short straw there given the consequences ?

    • @rbr1170
      @rbr1170 Рік тому +1

      Only question is: Is this the popular story being spread around or the movie which everyone saw?
      There are only a handful who knows and have read the disyney stories in their original Grimm's version and those who did actually know better and don't need the protection you may offer.
      He was correct. Is this where you'd like to make a stand? If you are german, sure, and even then you'd learn something else from those horror stories. The only thing Disney movies really do is make girls believe that only witches are after them and they will be saved by some prince charming. But is it bad to rewrite some fictional story from horror to some kind of chick flick? I mean they are just stories! If they did that to the history of the holocaust, then I'm right with you at burrying them. As of now, that sounds like the ol "video games teaches kids violence and make violent kids". Only those who are already f'd up in the head really benefiy from those.And even then, there are always things they can use as a reason even as innnocent as the story of a child born in the middle east in some animal house. There is probably just 1 or 2 girls who will meet their prince charming but that hope can be good. We don't want everyone hating all men now do we?

    • @wrongsob
      @wrongsob Рік тому

      Those that are looking for negativity in the story and want to make the prince a bad guy or creep. Tend to forget that the evil queen is the one who gave snow white the poison apple, and the prince kissed her out of love. He didn't slip her a roofie in her drink or anything other asshole thing like that. Just sounds like there was no winning for the prince as far as these angry interpreters are concerned.

    This kid would be tops, if he could only stop showing the differences between blacks whites specifically. The more you pit any race against another, you keep racism in the forefront. And his one antisemitic joke was ultimately racist. Look at the world today and decide for yourself whether or not if privilege is truly based on color of skin or, more an age group looking for an identity. Bottom line is, I truly love this guy and his wonderful love of people. I just can't stomach any sort of racism. Some don't realize they're keeping it alive.

    I think people get privilege, mixed up with the way a society (at whatever time or stage) works.

      I skip most black comedians because of it. Always victim, always white privilege.... it gets boring after 3.decades of listning to it. My white quilt ran out. I should not even have it to be honest. I have nothing to do with what happened 44+ years ago, i wasn't born yet. My family doesn't come from wealth, nor did we own slaves at some point in history. In my country people get a fair chance no matter.your.race, education matters.. and everybody can afford it here.
