Different flavours. Fredrik had his take on the drums that is obviously potent and gets the job done and then some. I personally prefer your relentless blasting and overall style. They would be fools to let you go.
For sure. Widigs is a good drummer but I think he simplified the songs too much (ignoring alot of fills and so on). I hope Simon will be a permanent replacement

@@Alexdrummer09Widigs is a good drummer and I guess it's just different flavors. If you see videos of him playing and compare to the the songs on the albums you see that alot of fills and patterns are either missing or are simplified. I guess Throne of rats is a good example.

@@Alexdrummer09 He wanted to lay his focus on his architecture studies. It was Fredrik who said Simon would fit the band. I heard this in a interview with morgan.

Think I like this. The blasting speed is more like the speed on the album, which means that the songs doesn't sound fucketh up due to the speed. Great job!

Holy fuckin shit. Superhuman drumming. The speed. The power. The magnificence. The brilliance. Life changing and life saving. These drummers would destroy anyone from any other musical styles. Schilling versus a rap drummer would be like a whale swallowing a tic-tac. Extreme metal is stronger than all.

Simon Schilling is absolutely amazing drummer, but Frederik WIDIGS was the best Match for Marduk, hands down.....
Yes, I think so to or Lars was the best in my opinion but he could not continue because of back problems sadly. I think its a bit to fast now, the whole band got faster because of Simon is such a fast drummer and i think that has made diffrences in the music i dont really appreciate
he is a great drummer but frederik widigs plays the songs how they are original.
i prefer frederik for marduk!
I personally think that as long as core and structure of the song is unharmed it's great that drummer adds his own thing to the song and have his own approach. And it would be kind of boring if he played song exactly the same as the album. He gave Marduk a new push and refreshed the band with his approach as well as keeping the songs clean and tight.

simon is a great drummer, thats not the point.
an example: look at the live performances of emil dragutinovic and the dude before fredrik widigs. when they played songs like of hells fire or other old songs, they were WAY too fast, almost unrecognizable.
its like they were not able to blastbeat slower.
that destroys the feeling of the songs.
widigs is able to play ultrafast, AND he is able to play the songs as they were in original.
just compare his live performances with the others.
@@mortalkombat6102 that's the completely other point. I understood you wrong buddy. When I said it's own thing I meant some cymbal and tom fills and variations. But totally agree with you on that term about slower blast beats and making songs inrecognizeable... that ruins everything and over speeding is just stupid and waste of energy. Once again, sorry for the misconception

@@mortalkombat6102 That Lars Broddesson guy was their worst drummer imo. All blast beats, boring fills, lacking power and sloppy double bass. I love Fredrik's drumming for his power and consistency but Simon hasn't disappointed me yet.
