This video is a very rare gem. I enjoyed it very much.
My admiration for HRH Princess Michael is unbounden . A very gracious and elegant lady but so much more than just that . She is an historian of great merit , she is a superb intellect and generous with her knowledge and sharing . Her detractors , to include those within the Royal Family , are clearly intimidated by her intelligence and said intellect , something which makes people feel uncomfortable . Thus it is easier to spurn and deride her . I find that both interesting and revealing , especially f they find her boring , rather proves their own deficiencies .

I see amongst the comments some oaf chooses to call her a racist . I do not and will not attempt to defend her since no defence is required opposite false allegation . I will say this however , EVERYBODY can be seen as a racist including the oaf making the comment . I wonder if the oaf knows why and how this works . Somehow I doubt it , too far beyond him lies the answer .

Actually it is. It was a gift from the city of Venice. Maybe her most famous piece of jewelry it's the Festoon Tiara.
Did they ask why her name is Michael?
She was born Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz. She's Austrian (born in nowadays Czech Republic), her mother was Hungarian and her father Polish. British Princesses are only called by their names when they're born into the Royal Family and not when they're married into the family. Eg. The Queen's daughter, Princess Anne, is a British Princess by birth so, she's called by her name. Marie-Christine, as a British Princess by marriage, is called by her husband's title & name. If her husband had be given any Ducal title - Duke of X - she would be called The Duchess of X instead of Princess Michael (of Kent). The Kent-part of her title is because her husband is a second son of the late Duke of Kent. The first son of this Duke inhereted this title and so is the present Duke of Kent.

Mark Gable you're welcome. Indeed she was raised in Mozambique and in Australia. But according to her she still is very much a "girl from the Empire", i. e., the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Her Father was an SS officer and her mother was a hair dresser in Australia .
