I love the technical terminology in this video, sounds like me trying to show someone how to do something. "This thing", "that big thing there", "take this and do this", "this looks like this", "take off this thing". All relatable.
I just did mine and didn't take the top glove parts off, such a pain in the ass, I even left the top two screws off for next replacement. Really annoying job 🤣
To charge more labor to the consumers. On Hyundais, super easy, dont have to take out the box, drop it low, take out a cover and thats it. This is to intimidate the consumer not to do it for its complexity and let the dealer do it.
Thanks for the video. Just got my cabin filter changed by following this video. Great step by step. I was wondering what a 17-year old cabin filter looks like. And now I know 🤢
Just aheads ups everyone Look up TSB Bulletin No: 07-011/09. The old part need to stay for proper cooling don't do what this guy did with out reading this TSB. Trust me I did my research. Good video if you arnt having problems with ac
So I did this back in 2018 when I bought my current Mazda 3. As much as it was a pain in the ass to do, I'm glad I did it cause I legit had Ants crawling on it. Tho when I put it back in together I had trouble getting it seated in properly without it falling etc so, not sure if you have advice for that because I'm tempted to go back in and fix what I did since, Vents on the bottom of the car and top when I have both on are very weak.
Got the wrong filter, one of the fuse box hold screws weren’t coming off, so I had to bent the hold frame. Finally removed the filter frame and saw an older filter wasn’t there and learned the one I got wont fit.🥲 absolute pain. And put it back and now lock systems are dead. Both on keys and the button on the door. She’s real hard on me.!
Drop a harness bar in just a thought but good place to mount a GoPro or fire extinguisher since this one is the off road rig. I've tossed the idea around myself but I daily mine to much and the likelihood of dropping racing seats in to work with the harness and bar is slim due to losing the weight sensors/ airbag sensors. But just a thought love this vid I remember doing this the other way which was a pain. Keep up the Awesome content!
@@ColtonRichter That was definitely the other kicker with the harness bar that and losing the ability to recline the fronts on a track car it works but definitely not a daily sadly.
Do NOT! IM a girl and I simply went to floor level and took off molding then d/c blower motor door. Took 5 mins. This reveals the filters. So new ones in. Total time? 10 mins. Two molding pieces and 2 screws and one blower motor plug.
@@ColtonRichter Ha, fair enough. Thanks for your encouraging words. I’ve not asked for a quote, but I’d assume it might be a one hour book rate at a shop - bound to save $100+ for a little DIY project. Newer Mazda’s such as the Mazda2 and CX-3 are way easier to get at, and take just a few minutes.

Yoo!! I was just wanting to do this but had no idea how. Thanks bro!

Whyyy mazdaaa why did you put the cabin filter underneath with so much complexity 😒
Well, it wasn't to sell more $40 cabin air filters. Fuck it..... I'll buy some Febreeze.
Ford Wankers nickel and diming the project.
Ford...

It's 2 screws😂 do not do what this person showed you this is a lot of wasted time for nothing😂

That bulletin doesn't seem to exist brother

Stick the top filter as far up as you can, and let the bottom filter hinge and glide into placing using the top
Amigo mi Mazda 3, Modelo 2008 no prende la dirección izquierda, sabes que relay es?
Thanks man very helpful
Glad this helped!
My mechanic went through all this only to find that my totally base 08 mazda had it optioned to not have a cabin filter.
💀
are you serious? lmaoo question how do you know if you have base trim or not? I have an 08 hatchback M/T but not sure on the trim level
@@StrawberryKilla I'm not sure. Mine had roll-up windows and no power locks if that tells you anything
Then your mechanic is lame because it's two screws after taking a kick panel off😂
Whats the part number on those filters?
I'm not sure, my apologies

This is a daily too and a camping rig, going to need to utilize the back seats!

I did the same and later the car no longer shows turn signals, what can I do?
Sounds like you disconnected the fuse panel
Nice video man!
I tried twice before to do this, got to where you did at 4:50. Couldn't get it open gave up.
Even after pulling the 4 screws?
@@ColtonRichter I got 1 screw, the second one wasn't coming out and I didn't want to risk stripping it.
I see

What year is your Mazda 3?

“50% of your cars Reeeek man” 🤣🤪 thanks man this helped.
All this for the cabin air filter?? What the?? 😮💨

What a hassle, I love Mazda but they could have made this easier!

DIY tint
What the chance like 5 min ago I was driving and telling to myself that I need to change mine 😂
I can sense the stank bro
Those speakers in the dash…. Where’s the how-to!?
ua-cam.com/video/_X9Soy1ViZw/v-deo.html
Ive been procrastinating on this so much because of how much of a pain in the ass it is.
It's not that bad, trust!
It's only two screws no need to do all this 😂😂
👍🏻
Yo , tint those windows
Man.... I know 😟
I’ll probably just pay someone to do this for me😂
😟
@@ColtonRichter should I do it myself I’m just a very nervous type of guy when it comes to working on my car, I don’t want to mess anything up 😂
I mean you can't really break anything, wouldn't hurt to try atleast
@@ColtonRichter I’ll do it Monday, huge fan of your vids btw
You don't need to remove glove box. You can still access from underneath.
Takes two seconds and makes it easier 🙌🏻
Silly. Lots of electrical bits to damage along the way - absolutely ridiculous.
Nice work though.
It's all secured electrical, nothing scary to remove 😌

I’ve been wondering where it was😂😂
Hidden, out of sight 😂
It was probably stinky cause of all your farts bro 💀

Thats way worse than I'd expect. hahaha even the factory woudn't deal with it..
