1 faster fan but 10db more noisy
2. Better extraction rate but 10db more noisy for it
3. App based ? Why unless the app sends you tank full notification but website does not state
4. Same shell, our version one has vibration problems from the compressor and was hoping for a better build shell to stop that.
5. Was hoping for a better lower noise compressor as version is not as quiet as stated by meaco.
6 version 2 has timers now but I don’t get this as all the videos and info from version 1 seem to say set it leave it I. 24/7 to do its thing as they always said you should never turn it off so why add timers?
Unless you want timers and an app that sends notification that the tank is full which is not stated on their site. More noisy iI would just go for version 1 as it’s cheaper. I have been waiting for months for this new model and was hoping for better construction and better compressor but all they done is slapped an app on it and added a 3rd fan speed that makes it super noisy
Thank you for your interest, I can clarify for you.
Arete Two has several major differences when compared with Arete One.
It uses a DC fan motor (all other dehumidifiers use AC), this provides proportional control over the fan speeds and the three fan speed which is circa 50% more powerful which allows faster drying and a lower power consumption. This means for example that clothes can be dried faster and cheaper.
The unique Chase display on a premium LCD screen allows the user to see both the target and current relative humidity at a glance and the progress being made towards it. No other dehumidifier does this.
The dehumidifier now has a built in and on and off timer for those that like to use one, this for example can also be used to change the period that the laundry mode runs for, shorter for light loads and longer for large or heavy loads.
The air deflector allows you to target where you want this dry air to hit.
Arete Two joins the Meaco APP family for control via your phone or via voice commands. You can see on the APP when the tank is full.
The LCD display also incorporates our Turn Me On function that warns the user if the room relative humidity is over 70%rh and the machine should be switched on.

You don't have to use it on the third fan if that's too noisy for you
@@kbahmed7072 not sure what your on about as you don’t have fan control the machine dictates what it uses. Not you. Apart from night mode which the fan does reduce. Sounds like you don’t own this machine. I have a few.
I love the app and voice assistant. As i dont like it running when i need a quiet time and can just say to stop
That for me is great feature. I dont care about noise level as its just humming anyway, dorsnt disturb me.
Lazy
Will this model save the last operating parameters after power loss? I want to use a smart plug and only power the arete two when I have got enough free energy from my solar array.
Never a good idea with any dehumidifier from any manufacturer. Use a smart plug is basically inducing a power cut and shutting the machine down, this prevents the compressor from shutting down safely and allowing the refrigerant and gases to settle properly. You are better off using the APP rather than using a smart plug.
The other issue with timers is that you are then guessing when the relative humidity will be too high. You are much better off letting the humidistat on the dehumidifier decide when to turn on and off, rather than having the machine turn off and then the organic material in the house absorb the moisture because the dehumidifier is turned off.
Don’t buy sorry their is a design flaw or have manufacturer problem.
Why. Well I have two Arete one which I have had for awhile and have also seen others who bought the Arete two which have the same problems.
The problems are
1. This unit reads 8RH out compared to the version one not good been confirmed on 3 machines by three different people who own the first version
2 does not turn on the compressor when it’s 3RH above seen many times when the unit is off and does the 30 min check and reads 54RH when mine is set to 50RH it still turns off been confirmed by others to. Version one does turn on above 3RH.
3rd problem this machine turns on the high fan speed in the 30min check then slows down very distracting as the version one can read the humidity in medium fan speed can not see why the version two can not do the same as the high fan speed every 30 min is loud and distracting.
Meaco have a serious problem
On their hands with the new unit as it’s not function properly. Buy the Arete one it works. You have been warned
Contacted Meaco and they seem not to interested but I sent it back and bought another Arete one as I already had one for 13 months and wanted another.
The Arete two is not operating properly a design flaw or faulty batch who knows. Posted 2/8/24
