  • "They took the art world by Storm" - But are Ohuhu Brush Markers REALLY Professional Quality...
This is one of my favourite videos and I enjoyed the process of making this review/comparison for you all. I hope it will prove to be useful to many.
Here's a list of colours I used from lightest to darkest -
    Winsor and Newton;
Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Coral, Cinnamon
Yellow - Lemon, Mustard, Amber, Burnt Orange
Blue - Cloud, Sky, China, Azure, Royal, Cool Grey 5
Red - Lipstick, Poppy, Firebrick, Cinnamon, Cool Grey 5.
    Ohuhu -
Skin - Salmon Pink, Rose Beige, Raw Umber
Blue - Powder, Cerulean, Indian, Cool Grey 7
Red - Vermilion, Geranium, Old Red
Yellow - Barium, Sunflower, Melon, Marigold, Dark Yellow.
    Paper- Sketch Paper, 190 Grams
    Fineliners - Winsor and Newton
Well that's about the only information i have, well, I wear size 10 UK shoes, if that's useful to anyone?? Eyes are Blue... erm... I'm balding.... That's about all..
Have yourselves a GREAT Day I look forward to seeing you all in the next video, take care and stay safe.

Wondering if you have any advice. I want to finally buy a big set of Ohuhu markers but I mostly do pets and wildlife drawings, and I want to try to draw more humans. I mostly use neutrals, not as many pastels, so I am not sure if I should get the largest set or a smaller set plus a skin tone.

When I saw your Instagram post of just the W&N I couldn’t understand what you’re doing differently than I am to get such a natural, smooth blend. But after seeing the Ohuhu side (which I use) it does look like my blending, so I guess it’s just the markers. I love them, but I think when I start selling more regularly I’m gonna get the W&N ones. If I have to choose one side, a choose the left side of the Pro Markers: not only because I'm used to see them in your previous works, but because their characteristics are fantastic (I can add nothing more, you exposed so clearly all the reasons why they're better than the other ones).

Thanks for all the videos, ADC. My choices boiled down to 48 W&N Brush Markers for $99, 200 Ohuhu Oahu (bullet nib) markers for $60, or Ohuhu Honolulu (brush nib) Markers 72 set and 48 pastel set (120 all told) for $70. Thought the W&N superior, but these are just for fun, so wasn’t as willing to spend the money. With markers, they just aren’t mixable as other mediums (or so it seems to me), and a broad selection of colors is a real benefit.

@ADCArtAttack that was a really great comparison. I think your Brush markers did better in the blue tones but the Ohuhu markers looked better in the Red. I'm guessing that the skin hue difference is due to the missing colors from your set. But both had great looks for that type drawing in scene. I agree, I think the Brush and Ohuhu would compliment each other well, I'd like to see how using the Brush markers as a base and the Ohuhu as filler/shader would work and if the patchy paper issue is resolved. Thanks a million for the great video.

Seems like it's mostly about the artist's talent anyway!
You should do a massive piece using all brands of markers you own :)

You’re right about the Ohuhu markers. If you’re making a comic book and want to give it more pop, then Ohuhu is the best option. But if you want to get the nitty gritty of realism and really get the right tone of what you’re drawing then yeah you might want to use the ones you’ve used in the past. So left side wins!

    Nice video.
I'd like to see you trying out the "Reno Art" styled copic markers & see what you think about them.

Great videos! I have a question for you. I have a set of markers from when I was in design school 25 years ago they are TRIA markers by Letraset, I see that your Promarkers by W and N look exactly the same, did W and N buy out Letraset? Because I can’t find the TRIA marks anymore. Keep up the fantastic work you have gotten me interested in art work again.
