Amazing that Levistus, who was arguably one of the most talented swordsmen in existence, was reduced to a frozen prisoner. She will forever sit in the 6th layer unable to do anything to Levistus in the 5th. So she is tormented by lusting and loathing for Levistus.
Eh, why bother answering the question at all? Some things are best left unanswered. truly is last ability is chilling. No previous memories, the first information your mind registers is images of hell and devils. The confusion mixing with fear and pain.
What if, plot twist: Levistus was always loyal to Asmodeus, who was also very aware of both Bensozia's treacherous inclinations AND Glasya's rebellious delusions. So to deal with both menaces and give a cool gift to his best bro, Asmodeus devised this plot for Levistus to "Betray" him. The frozen cage? Invincibility for his true body. The temporary loss of his status as lord of Stygia? Just vacation time to chill. The obligation to help anyone escape? Easy soul-buying hotline so he can always have enough souls to pay his quota AND keep some spare. Heck, it's even possible Asmodeus gave Levistus a secret avatar so he could go around to do stuff, albeit strictly anonymous.
This could be a cool plot twist to a story make it so the party had to defend this strange dude who keeps paying em out their noses for said protection all whilst slowly discovering this secret and at the end have two options either A. Try to spill the secret and either die or get hunted or the more tantlising options B. Levistus keeps this hidden from asmodeus, he lets em free and he continues to use their services when ever he feels like traveling and pays em handsomely, the drawbacks would be basically a campaign of a escort quest and the party is probably attacked a lot sense the man is strange and well wealthy

These are my favorite kinds of videos that you do. The ones where you reveal hidden/secret stories about the all powerful characters in dungeons and dragons. I find it fascinating.
One twist I kind of love if they pulled... is that either Levistus or Asmodeus did this on purpose. Levistus drew ire from everyone and was eventually going to be dispatched, while he is a great duelist his charisma is his greater power. . Certainly the ironic "You must help anyone who asks" is bad... but think of it another way, it also means he would gather far more people who would possibly free him without causing Asmodeus to lose face.
You need to make more videos like this. You are literally leaving money on the table. There are A TON of interesting creatures in DnD and I would love to hear about them all.

Very interesting, it means that becoming a warlock or a hexblade is extremely simple. But one thing I want to know is what do the priests do besides fighting the frozen souls? Do they have a form of ceremony? How are they praying? Is it just besting their opponents?
I thought we were doing dead gods in the astral plane for the next video? But I guess this makes sense to coincide with the release of the game. Cool info as always!
I'm running Icewind Dale and added an element where the devil father of a tiefling party member is looking to rise in the ranks and gain Asmodeus's favor and become the archdevil of Stygia while Geryon and Levistus are fighting. He's been making a bunch of deals with the party and he recently became a pit fiend because of a really good deal he made, so he's very close.
I'm imagining a story about him breaking free and the other devils give him a welcome back party, but it's a trap and he ends up back inside that block of ice again. It's what they were welcoming him back to.
I actually see when Lavistus is summoned to the meeting with Asmodeus, he is brought there, BUT, a large block of Ice comes with him keeping him imprisoned. So even when he is freed of that floating Prison, he is still in a prison.

truly is last ability is chilling. No previous memories, the first information your mind registers is images of hell and devils. The confusion mixing with fear and pain.
Ahh, how would you know devils are bad or dangerous ?
@@nu1x true I might not know, but I think the giant insectoid ice devil poking me with is fork might at least confuse me
My favorite arch devil. Super chill guy. Always ready to sit back and crack open a cold one.
Rhexx, you’re the only one I subscribe too, that I immediately jump into the video every time.
Great vid, I love the ones about the demon lords and arch devils. They are such interesting and fascinating beings in d&d
I like how all the Demon lords in 5e have stats and we can fight them( even though they're nerfed) but most of the Archdukes don't. Tiamut and zariel weren't originally one of the archdukes 'm talking about the OG's
These are my favorite kinds of videos that you do. The ones where you reveal hidden/secret stories about the all powerful characters in dungeons and dragons. I find it fascinating.
I fall asleep to these videos; not because they are boring. I just find them very soothing to unwind and drift off to
So this has perfect timing I’m currently making a new character my first. I’m making a Levistus Tiefling Devine soul sorcerer
"If Demogoran can do it, anyone can do it!"
I feel personally attacked, here, Mr. Rhexx. Low blow, my dude. Low blow.
Yes! My first ever character is part of a Levistus plot so this video came in clutch
You need to make more videos like this. You are literally leaving money on the table. There are A TON of interesting creatures in DnD and I would love to hear about them all.
Ever since I saw him and his lore in the 3rd edition book a few years back, I knew I had to add him in as a major player in some form for my campaign. Will reference this video as I work towards him in a few years.
So upon pausing and reading very little of the Dark Eight, this definitely seems like something worthy to watch in a future video if you're covering the devils
@MrRhexx
Kinda wish I hadn’t just murdered Levistus in my current campaign.
Habe you considered body doubles? Available in many flavors influding Clone, Illusion, and silicrum. All for the low low price of your players respect if you do not do it correctly.
@@nikkibrowning4546 players respect is over rated, their fear is more valuable-some DM somewhere
DARK ALLIANCE!!
I don't play DnD (as in in real life)
But i darn love it!
So this is PERFECT!!
Also, can we have an Episode on the Origins of the Cacodemon? (Astral Dreadnought)
OOH, nice. Levistus is my favorite Arch-Devil
This is perfect because one of my players is a Levistus tiefling and he haaaaaates Levistus! This is going to help with my lore so much thank you!!!
Hey, I was subscribed. UA-cam said I wasn’t for some reason. I love your channel. Keep your content ongoing. You have the best lore I’ve seen.
I love listening to these when falling asleep. So soothing.
Hey Rhexx thank you so much for this video Levistus is my bbeg of my campaign and the video helped me out a ton.
This helps my campaign so much, thank you MrRhexx!
Dude. Thx u so much!!! This is exactly what the doctor ordered. Im so glad you covered the “chad” of hell. Thank you.
In my opinion one of the more interesting devil lord's would like to see a pc free him or just have a close encounter
Aren't a giant shark god and Set down in Levistus's layer trying to take it over?
I've played a Tiefling of his descent for the last three years! Love this video ❤️
My Rime of the Frost Maiden campaign pretty much features him because of a player in my party. I couldn't find shit about him, so thank you for uploading this much needed information!
I just finished a 21 km run. Perfect timing good sir! 😅
Keep a recording of your Patreon supporter’s names and just add to it as needed. Every little bit will help save your throat at the end of the day. Like your videos keep em coming :)
Of course I just get my players involved with a demon loyal to Levistus when this video comes out. @MrRhexx knows exactly what I need!
What a coincidence. I rewatched the ten coolest magic items video yesterday.
7:37 *cuts to Ed Greenwood smiling and nodding approvingly*
Huh, I recently made a tiefling who worshipped Levistus! Great timing!
My Stygia is obsessed with classic French literature.
-Every Vassavor has their own 3 Musketeers
-Everyone seems to have at least one Count of Monte Cristo style vengence on the works
-People sing songs from Les Miserable *constantly*
Very interesting, it means that becoming a warlock or a hexblade is extremely simple.
But one thing I want to know is what do the priests do besides fighting the frozen souls? Do they have a form of ceremony? How are they praying? Is it just besting their opponents?
I thought we were doing dead gods in the astral plane for the next video? But I guess this makes sense to coincide with the release of the game. Cool info as always!
those cuts of static tripped me out for a sec.
"He was sleeping with the mother and daughter!"
Me: Oooooooouuu Dramaaaa~ 🤭
I'm running Icewind Dale and added an element where the devil father of a tiefling party member is looking to rise in the ranks and gain Asmodeus's favor and become the archdevil of Stygia while Geryon and Levistus are fighting. He's been making a bunch of deals with the party and he recently became a pit fiend because of a really good deal he made, so he's very close.
I like it more when you do a video about a single character in the lore. Do Orkus next.
I always appreciate your videos man :)
I appreciate you!
Perfekt! One of my players in Rime of the Frostmaiden has just the right patron...
Mother AND daughter... he truly is a handsome devil.
I really love the flavour of the 'last chance' archdevil!
I'm imagining a story about him breaking free and the other devils give him a welcome back party, but it's a trap and he ends up back inside that block of ice again. It's what they were welcoming him back to.
Levistus was an excellent duelist who had a defensive style that parried everything, even spells.
Asmodeus with his ice prison: PARRY THIS YOU CASUAL.
Please more videos like this on the other layers. Please, Please PLEEEASE!
Awesome video!! He is my bbeg in the shadows, so this video was extremely helpful!
“Have you ever wondered why there is no queen of hell?” Genuinely, no, I just assumed that Asmodeus wasn’t interested
I actually see when Lavistus is summoned to the meeting with Asmodeus, he is brought there, BUT, a large block of Ice comes with him keeping him imprisoned. So even when he is freed of that floating Prison, he is still in a prison.
Awesome man,
Now why haven't I heard of a pirate captain venerating Levistus, not just because he's the ironic god of escapes, but also because of his swordsman ship and general 'rakish audacity'.
I would live you see you do a “character vs character” series. Like Levistus vs Demigorgon and what not.
The 5th Layer of Hell is essentially just a Daedra-filled area behind Winterhold where that old dude researching the dwemer lives. From a Skyrim standpoint, of course. c:
