The weirdest part of Malus, to me, is that he seems to be more powerful and desirable if you just Confederate him as any other Dark Elf, and bypass his dual-edged and mediocre campaign mechanics.
I only ever play Malekith anyways so I definitely agree. Ulthaun will be mine and all that. But Malekith is my favorite character. But the way Malus campaign works and his mechanics don’t really fit with the character to me. Like he is half possessed by a daemon so he gets extra growth or a ward save? His campaign should have goals and rewards to travel the map. Not paint it.

I call nonsense on the Elspeth take. I didn't know there was a cap on traits until I went marauding around the world with teleporting Elspeth. It is a rare freedom that her secure start position affords. If Vlad isn't threatening, then march south and collect defeat traits until he does. Teleport back home and replenish your worn down army with stronger troops. Pick a direction, and burn every town in sight. Sell them to the Dawi, and create a wall of strong allies. Clean the trash out of the Empire. Confederate everyone. It's just a great campaign.
For me it's all the dark elves campaigns. The public order issues was not fun in TW2, and it's not fun in TW3. Fun race in combat... but not worth playing on the campaign.
The only reason I was able to have a blast as ikit claw was because morghul or whatever that ungors name is declared war on me and got ambushed so I got rid of him very early on and just steamrolled thru bretonia later
😭 Malus is my preferred campaign tbh. Sail to Cathay, go home and prep to invade Ulthuan. Raid the north men and Empire. Face most of the Warrioes of Chaos. I'm in the minority with this, but I concede I often wish there was more to his book-based character rivals and allies beyond just ancillaries and a Tzsrken instruction to attack random people because reasons.
Take note if you still want your legendary achievement to just ask Archeon, and Agree with Ikit claw, he is my personal favourite but all his campaigns take too long
I wish Malus' campaign was just getting the five artifacts from the novel. Also, Tzarkan should look completely different, not just white haired Malus.
I think you're selling Elspeth a bit short on the variety. Like my first game I actually made a peace deal with the starting vampires after only taking the first province (they pay a lot as well for peace), then used the morr thingy to teleport north to say hello to Festus. And I imagine you could go to other places for some variety. But sure, the most optimal playstyle will always be to go beat up every single vampire first. The biggest issue with Franz and Elspeth is that after securing the empire, you really don't have much decent land to expand to. The north, south, and east are all annoying red terrain (snow and wasteland).
I kinda expected Nkari since concurring the donut is very painful, takes a lot of turns, you basically fight everyone at the same time AND your auto resolve sucks. I love Nkari as a lord, and Slaanesh is my second favourite faction but I just can't stand the campaign
First tech, the perfume that discounts proliferate cults. Vassalize Chrace for 500 devotees and destroy your cult building in the White tower for a refund. Recruit until your stack is full and don’t bother fighting any elves. Turn 7 proliferate and pick your favorite location for a summoning portal. Ta-da! You just got a semi-random new starting location out of like 200 choices that you can save scum to get exactly what you want.
@@willfeen Definitely Tzeentch, because it's clear where you want to go. Even if you don't like your start you can teleport with a cult. Also I never have to fight two wars at once because I can force peace, and even if I'm losing a war I can quickly force them to have peace until I build my army. Also Kairos with 18 lords of change (with buffs and spells) and teleport stance bombing the battlefield is beauty incarnate

i dont think i dislike any campaign really but there are some i see no point in playing. like for me basically all the Woc besides belakor and archaeon and maybeee festus (just cause his start position is fun imo) are just like why would i chose monogod ones when i could just be undivided and get the same thing and if i want the flavor just play the actual monogod race. which kinda sucks cause i think characters like valkia are sick asf but id rather play arbaal for khorne or archaon ya know. I know the divide between mono god vs woc is arbitrary but i would have really preferred we got these iconic mortals as part of their monogod races and kept Woc just undivided with archaon, kholek, and belakor. Like it feels really weird to me Sigvald of all people isnt a slannesh LL maybe its something they revisit in the future but ive never been like "man time to play sigvald!" when i can play just anyone else
Yep, highly subjective, I have always enjoyed an Ikit campaign so, it is not an objectively bad start. I sometimes make peace with the BM faction and I sometimes destroy it. If I make peace I use them as a barrier to attack and raid Bretonnia or I attack South. It's possible to have a numerous ways of playing an Ikit campaign so this take is totally odd to a skilled Skaven player
And wood. Those are just so mediocre you didnt even remember them. Elves have low hp/low model count, cost a ton, and dont really have the stats to justify all that. They die just as easily as humans. Even easier, since some spells can delete an entire unit, flat out. Elven archers straight up lose to cathay heavy armored crossbows, maybe with exception of sisters of avelorn. Who arent any more accurate than humans either. Then there is the monster roster, which is the definition of mediocre in most cases. Dragons are janky, eagles are bad, hydra/kharybdis only useable with Rakarth, etc. Whilst dwarfs, the *other* dying race, has basically nothing but op units, rich AF, and their units dont cost an arm and a leg either.

Archaon works as an introduction to the warriors of chaos army roster. Outside of that yeah it can be pretty boring especially since recruiting your armies requires a gopher to run back to the chaos wastes and back to get warriors for chosen.
I feel like this video was made to annoy the most amount of people. You can argue the vast majority of lords have a set start that they must execute, Malakai absolutely must fight noraca or chaos unless you want to be defending that area for the whole campaign. Terrible take on Elspeth as well.
I can argue I can dislike or like whatever campaign I want. If people are such mongoloids that they care so much about what I explicitly say is based on personal taste. Then yeah that's on them.

I do find it funny when he goes on about Ikit’s start when I know a good Skaven player can get multiple starts out of it. I feel like someone’s forcing him to play the game as his videos come across as monotone, forced and miserable
My guess about the popularity good or bad of most races comes to the starting location + climate, like DE are good and look edgy but is not really fun that most of them start at so close distance from each other that you have to fight them or confederate (and i find that worst). I like lizardment faction because...dinosaurs but is playing the same bore lustria map, krog gar traped on the desert or Rambo chamelion running everywere, oh and mazdamundi is stuck in the midle of a territory that is bad for him (snow in the north) or settlements that already other lizards take to the south. Ikit claw really hit hard the ground after the reload nerf so was no longer fun

Ikit Claw definitely has an awful starting location. Tried out the campaign multiple times but stopped, and now I understand why it wasn't enjoyable.
