BMW R1300GS | First Ride Review

  • Hello,
Thanks to BMW Motorrad India, I got the opportunity to test ride the BMW 1300GS. I have not been fond of the big GS motorcycles due to their size and weight and I was a bit skeptical when this opportunity came by. And after the ride, what did I thin about it? Watch the video to know more. Cheers!

GSA 1250 is obnoxiously wide. Aesthetically just didnt cut it especially look from the front is funnily round. However, 1300 is trimming the fat for good. Sexy.

Very nicely done, sir. I dismounted my 719 just 10 minutes before watching this video. it’s cold here in West Texas this morning. The heated grips and seat made for a most comfortable on and off-road ride! I think the naysayer reviewers of the GS 1300 are just jealous.

I've never watched a bmw gs video like this before, the way you explained all the specs and the experience you got in this , believe me I just watched it straight whole 17 minutes in 1.0x and made me to fall in love with this machine and made my dream bike. One day I'll buy it , some day I'll grab this. Thank you sir 🙂

Hello, the best reviews of the GS1300. A lot of people have never ridden a GS, therefore they can not understand the "perfection" of this concept. Thumbs up.

Awesome review and overview, I totally agree, I had the 1150gsa as well as the 1200gs and even those older models have been the most comfortable bikes I have ever redden, even the f800gs that I recently sold was also very comfortable bike, so the 13gs most be amazing, I do wish that BMW would come up with a 510gs that will stand against the competition, It would help bmw to keep many GS fans who are stepping down the ladder.
    Cheers from usa

BMW just asked one question. What would KTM do if they had our patent for the boxer engine? The designer answered: Make it Sleeker, Sharper, Smarter. Superduke GT with off road capabilities.

Its always been about the weight...Hence it wont be ur every day bike...I am sure with current weight reduction and better ease of riding she will be amongst the top charts in india...

The rear mudguard lip is always best during rainy days or any muddy/watery surface. This use to be default on both front and rear mud guards in old motorcycles in 80s and 90s. Eventually, in the name of modernity they removed it. Till date I miss this in all motorcycles. It's so simple yet elegant thing during travel especially which keeps rear seat/luggage/rider clean 😃

The soundtrack at the start of the video reminded me of Jurassic Park 😂. Jokes aside - Thank you for sparing us all by not sharing all the tech jargons yet conveying the message cleanly. Also, kudos to you for being very honest and humble about off-roading while it is technically easy to take a couple of shots from different angles on the dirt and leave it to your editor, who would have done the job by making it look like a Dakar style Bosky race stuff. I think your audience who just likes no-nonsense-keep-it-real motorcycling experience will appreciate this content. Well, I did!! Cheers !

Good review.I am a s1000 Xr Gen 1 owner, and I am 6.5 ft tall a Tuluwa Rider in Sydney.
Was thinking of GS , but my use is mainly city ride , so just skipped GS for now and went with XR . Happy with the night and ride comfort , but feels a bit dated in terms of tech .
But this GS is loaded, and kind of tempting, will give it a bit of time and then let’s see .
Once again thanks for Good and honest review.

This is primarily what all GS are about , low CG due boxer config hence amazing handling , most comfy , no dive on braking due tele lever , high torque avail low down . This one is a little lighter that’s all . More power more tech is just not required . I do appreciate that they made it lighter but still not worth it buying new … a subjective a comment that may be .

    dear @bigbearbangalore
I was following your channel, since long time. But you know, you would've make this video way better. If you get a chance to ride and review a motorcycle. you would've done it better. if you observe most of the video frame was covered by your face and bike is in blur.
We wish you might show us the view from third person point, but never done. As you said, there is a lot more to talk about it and review the vehicle which you couldn't done it. anyways thanks.

Dude! Sorry my style didn't live up to your expectations. My videos are more aural than visual. So may be that's something you could keep in mind when you tune into my channel videos. And there are plenty of cinematic videos on this motorcycle on YT. Those may satiate your visual cravings. Enjoy. Cheers!

Sir, age is just a number. Your passion for bikes shows your determination to do what you love. Your bow to the 1300 GS means that you were blown by the bike and what it has to offer. 😊
