Your videos are very informative. Spoken in detail that a beginner like me can grasp. Might try a head mounted cam I found it hard to see brush strokes when cam was filming at distance/ and or angle 16:33
I appreciate the kind words, Thomas! Thank you! I've tried numerous different camera angles over the years. Most of the time the camera is directly in my way and I have to be somewhat of a contortionist just to see what I'm doing. It's a work in progress, but I'm always trying to improve.

another great vid, very instructive and looks like a very nice approach to tackle true fire. Loved the effect you achieved just using black paint! ;)
not sure it'll work that well for me, but that's just me: somehow I find it very difficult to make and artistic interpretation of a refence picture, I always try to make an exact "copy" (definitely something I have to practice/work on) :).
Definitely going to give this approach a try, it'll certainly be a good practice :D

Furthermore it is a great practice to exercise realistic fire. And (for me) also a great way to exercise on the artistic interpretation of a photographic reference instead of focusing too much on creating a copy of the original :)

I appreciate your patience and I apologize for the wait. I've dropped the ball on this one. I've actually attempted to record Part 3 twice now. One of my cameras decided to quit on me without warning (no sound, nothing) during the first attempt. I didn't realize it until I sat down to edit the footage. I completely forgot to turn on my microphone for about half of the second attempt, lol. Again, I didn't realize that was a problem until I sat down to edit the footage.
I've been extremely busy lately and haven't had time to try again; however, I'm about to start painting fire on the fire department table. So, I might end up using that for Part 3 instead.
