      Hi Kaine! I appreciate the kind words my friend! I have no plans to stop creating videos. I really enjoy teaching and helping others to improve, and I can reach far more people through this platform compared to live sessions. I never would've believed I would have as many subscribers as I currently do a few years ago. At the end of the day, it's really not about how many subscribers I have though. As long as there are people watching and learning, I'll continue.
      Occasionally, life and other things get in the way. Sometimes those issues require me to take a break from the channel, but I try to let my viewers know beforehand.

    Awesome tips!!!! thanks for going into such depth how you do things. Can you use the same type of erasers on metal like if i was making a sign or painting on a car?

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  2 роки тому

      Hi John! You sure can. I use erasers on automotive art frequently. One example of me doing exactly that can be found here ua-cam.com/video/ultBy3GumW4/v-deo.html Be careful though. It's not terribly difficult to erase through the paint if you get too aggressive. It's a good idea to apply a coat or two of a protective clear coat over the white base coat to give yourself a little more of a barrier to prevent that when you plan to use subtractive techniques.

    Hi Mate
    Nice work my friend. Just wondered what your opinion is of the GSI771 compared to the Iwata.
    The freehand skull wins in my opinion, but I also like this one. It has a more robotic or terminator look to it.
    I doubt you had a reference as you have probably done so many skulls over the years. It is good when at the end of a tutorial you have a shot of the final image for a few seconds. It gives me a chance to take a screen shot for reference. I can copy but I can't create if you get my meaning?
    I must admit that I have not really had a chance to paint for while due to health reasons, and a house move but I still watch every video you post and I learn something every time. I'm itching to get back on the brush again. Hopefully in the next couple of months I'll be able to get going again.
    Take care my friend
    Guy
    PS. Have not seen the sneekers yet.

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Guy! I'm sorry to learn you're having health issues... wishing you a speedy, and full recovery my friend!
      Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with the PS 770/771 in the beginning. Once I figured out what the problem was and resolved it, I became very happy with that brush! It's not on the same level as a Micron in my opinion, but it's a very good brush! I don't typically do review videos, but I've had several people ask about the PS 770/771 specifically. I'll probably create a video sharing my thoughts and experience with it.
      Freehand always wins in my opinion as well. And I get what you meant by the copy versus create portion of your comment. I have no issue with that.
      Videos pertaining to the sneakers are coming... I spent pretty much an entire day painting those, and the cameras were running the entire time. It takes a lot of time for me to sit down and edit out everything that wasn't me actually painting (answering the phone, cleaning the brush between colors, mixing paint, etc.). I've got about half of the footage edited down as of now. I have to balance the time I spend editing versus painting because painting is what pays the bills.

    Would a putty eraser work on the fine over spray? Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it 👍😷👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  2 роки тому

      Hey Andrew! A kneaded eraser will work (depending on what paint you are using). Keep in mind that a kneaded eraser is on the softer side (even softer than a regular pencil eraser) as far as erasers are concerned. So, a kneaded eraser works really well in areas where you might be trying to achieve a soft blend, it won't work as well in areas where you want to aggressively remove paint though. That's why I recommend using more than one eraser. One eraser can't handle every job. Does that make sense?

    You have no idea how appreciated your videos are by people like me. Thank you for passing on your knowledge. Do you do online classes?

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  Рік тому +1

      I appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments and questions! Helping others has always been my goal for this channel. We didn't have all of the resources available today when I started airbrushing, and those with the knowledge rarely shared their secrets back then. I never understood that. From my viewpoint, I would rather help someone else to improve. There are no secrets. When the student surpasses the teacher, that motivates me to continue trying to improve my own skills and artwork.
      Currently, I do not have any online classes. I have wanted to create some more thorough tutorials with that purpose in mind for a while now. Unfortunately, I struggle finding the time to create new UA-cam content on a regular basis right now. My client's come first. At some point, I will produce some online classes. I'm unsure if those will be through a membership platform here on UA-cam, or one-time downloadable classes. I'm always open to suggestions from those that are interested. What would be ideal for you?

      @@wickedartstudio You are definitely an inspiration and never think for a second that you're not helping people.
      I am really trying to get to the point that I can not only coat a surface but add designs through stencils and freehand. I am horrible at drawing and suffer from a brain disease that gives me horrible tremors. I mainly coat firearms using cerakote but would love to add a more artistic touch to them using Wicked paint on parts that are not mechanical. Obviously a good clear coat is a must. I'm getting better doing exercises but have a ways to go.

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  Рік тому +1

      @@finalaccuracy7695 Thank you! One of the coolest things about the airbrush in my opinion is the fact that anyone can turn out some really nice artwork with virtually no artistic skill or background in art. Using other available resources, like stencils and/or freehand shields, coupled with some practice operating the brush really makes the learning curve much easier.

    Great video bro man. Will the electric eraser work good on automotive airbrushed basecoat over spray also?

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  2 роки тому

      I've used an electric eraser on urethane basecoat, and it does work as far as removing paint to add texture is concerned. However, urethane is more robust compared to water-based paint. I don't recall ever using an eraser to remove urethane overspray though (I haven't used urethane for roughly 15 years). It likely won't work as well for that specific purpose. Of course, it would also depend on how much overspray you're trying to remove. A slight amount will probably be relatively easy. A heavier amount, not so much.

      Unfortunately, I have no idea... I got several sheets of this stuff a few years ago to demo and I cannot remember what it is or where it came from. Even if I could remember, I wouldn't recommend the product. It's some type of a synthetic. It's almost like plastic and shatters like plastic if you try to fold it. One side is heavily textured. The opposite side is also textured, but not as much. It accepts paint very well without soaking up moisture; however, all of the sheets were already warped when I got them. I've tried several methods to straighten them back out without success.

    whar kind of paint that could just be erased by a pencil eraser??

    • @wickedartstudio
      @wickedartstudio  10 місяців тому +1

      I use water based Createx products. The colors are very soft immediately after they are sprayed which allows them to be erased easily. They are significantly more difficult to erase the longer they are allowed to dry and cure.
