I was there as a 14 year old kid with a few of my mates! What a day! Remember going absolutely mental when Rodgers slotted home right at the death! Seems so long ago but not that long ago, man I miss those days bad, used to follow Latics everywhere back then, some of the best times of my young life. I miss going to Springfield Park, proper footy ground, stood literally 3 foot away from pitch, it felt like a proper close knit bunch back then, it was alot more spirited than the JJB/DW. I get that things change and for the better but I enjoyed the rise of the club from the 3rd division back in the 90's to the Prem even more so than our Prem journey even though that was unreal & winning the FA cup too because even though we got to the prem & signed better players and what not, these players here, in these 90's sides are the ones who got the ball rolling to get us up through the leagues and eventually the prem!
Was one of the worse matches I have been too, had the worse seat ever to, I had a steel beam above me and every time we nearly scored which was not many i would jump up and wack my head on it, walked out with massive head ake and a fuck off hang over in the morning, I won't miss the old Wembley that's for sure, and we losted 1-0...
