"India is somehow content with living perpetually in pain". Actually I have thought about this a lot as to whether only Indians are so schadenfreudic in nature or just a general trait of humanity. It is almost like Indians in general love misery , and especially seeing others in misery. It is not really a sadistic pleasure of seeing others in pain but more like "Oh look at that poor miserable situation that person is in. Thank god I am not in that situation." or "Look at that horrible situation that person is in. Atleast there is someone with me equally fucked up or worse". And this gives an immense satisfaction personally.

I think it has to do with our defeatist attitude..for example, if many Americans fall in a ditch, and one of them tries to come out, others will encourage him, support him and say "Hey get out man and help us get out too" and cheer him. But if the same thing happens to Indians and one person tries to come out of the ditch, others will just say "Arrey yaar, nahi hone wala hai..idhar baith ja chup chap" and if he falls back unsuccessful, everyone else will chuckle and laugh and say "Bola tha na chutiye, nahi hone wala hai..aaja ab idhar baith..tp karte hai".
It seems Indians priority is to be being part of community even if it's a worse situation than being independent but in a better situation. Because of this nobody wants to improve the situation.

What else we are supposed to do ? I see hundreds of beggars everyday to the route of my office. I do feel empathy for them but if i offer money to one beggar , other beggars start surrounding me for even more money and i can't help everyone. That way i will end up begging lol. Also most of beggars are physically and mentally capable of doing things but they just don't want to do it and that's why nowadays i don't offer any help to anyone no matter how miserable they look. Just move on. Only you can help yourself in this world.

The reason people don't believe on discounting and coupons is because the company is not providing me the service, it is the restaurant owner.
I personally have seen a lot of restaurant owners segregate orders between normal orders and coupon orders.
It might not happen in big companies where orders are placed via computers, but it does happen in manual ordering.
Its not about "daal me kuch kaala hai", its more about "I know my fellow Indian".

      So Hear me out
Very easy explanation - I agree that LAC issue is serious but
Did his joke degrading the seriousness of that topic?
No, His joke has a purpose just to make people laugh
(And also to gain attention, well that's personal thing😂)
Everybody knows that border situation is always serious but we forget about it in our privileged life.
So in this joke it's underlining message is to aware people about how govt is not handling that serious issue correctly.
After reading this joke maybe half of the people will get aware and talk about that seriousness
So same thing goes with Mental health and other serious issues which is to aware people
And his joke comes under satire
I hope you understand buddy but even if you don't that joke is still funny and it will be right there in the comment section for life.

Amazing discussion and great window into the psychology of Indians. Loving this series Tanmay! Here's a question that I had for the longest time. In most discussions it comes out that one of the main reasons why things/products/ideas don't work in India is because so few people have money and have access to make more money. Why then does the top brass not realize that improving the per capita GDP(and not just the GDP) is best way to start a chain reaction where everyone benefits? Is it just cause they don't realize that it's not a zero sum game or is it just their insecurity and fear of change?

    • @divya11114
      @divya11114 3 роки тому

I have thought about the same thing as well. In my opinion they don't do this because it's what keeping our economy and government running. It's easier to get votes from poor people on fake promises and big dreams then middle class people or people who are more educated or have access to better facilities. And if poor people have something to dream about and aspire for, you can get them to work for cheap, hence cheaper labor for multinational companies and big corporations. The system is designed to keep poor poorer so that they keep on spending their salary and incomes on things that rich people are selling or their god like celebrities are promoting, and to keep the rich richer. And middle class is just a tax paying sheep for the government and slave for corporate companies.

When Ankur Warikoo talks about the olympian gold medalist comparison, it's not about the fact that the struggles of the one coming from the privileged one is ignored. It's simply because the one who didn't have access to the facilities had the struggles of it's own before even she/he can think of the Olympic struggles. When you compare two people it's very difficult to set the common grounds.

There are million games which can earn the money. Find the one which you can win and repeat it enough to become wealthy. Problem with most of the people is, either they don't want to learn any game or they play the game which they can't win.
