    That Travis tone is such a beautiful sound--two P-90 pickups which the selector switch set in the middle.

      they sound a bit different then the normal p90, I guess they were made by that dude Paul Bigsby of Bigsby vibrato fame. a bunch of great players used Bigsby pickups Les Paul used them in his "Low Bias" Guitars he played in the 1950's and 1960's, he said they were the only pickups he could find that could do the "Bell" sound he was looking for. Also Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant, Speedys steel guitar(made by Bigsby) was the first to have multiple necks and vibrato. Leo Fender got a lot of "inspiration" from Bigsby.

      I'm not 100% sure on this ... but I found this other posting and it says he played with Joe Maphis a lot. SOOO!?!? maybe it was him. or not... I don't know... Here's a nice stereo version to give a listen to
