Today we're used to a world in which professional Irish dancing is mainstream and Lord of the Dance is a massive ongoing success. But let's rewind the clock to 1996: the genre was brand new with only one major show, which had unceremoniously fired its star, lead choreographer, and creative force: Michael Flatley. No one believed a second show, even with Michael behind it, could work.
Then we add in the sheer lunacy of having a stage show created, choreographed, starring, directed and wholly funded by its lead performer. Conventional wisdom says this is a recipe for disaster. Yet for the chosen three-dozen or so Irish dancers -- the best in the world, handpicked by Michael himself -- they left jobs, left college, left everything behind, and took a chance on the biggest gamble in the history of show business.
They worked harder than they'd ever worked before. On a shoestring budget, with no time left on the clock, they pulled together one of the most insane success stories of all time: the creation of what would become a billion-dollar dance show.
Because social media didn't exist back in 1996, very little of that amazing journey has ever been documented. Now, with less than a year to go until the show's 25th anniversary, we finally get to hear part of the story from the people who lived it.

Oh, my gosh! Wow! These docs put flesh and blood on the reality behind the stage production. We all get to live a bit via proxy through these wonderful dancers the joy and magic we saw. Thank you, cast, for letting us in to your hearts and minds of this amazing show.
What a wonderful performance. It's nice to see dancers so devoted to each other and Michael. It's not the same without Michael, but the dancers are still top of the line. Would be nice if Michael would make a guess appearance for one dance. God Bless them all💕👍❤

Just as Jesus Christ dies and is resurrected on the third day, the hero of this performance dies and then is resurrected. Thanks to Michael Flatley, he reminded the whole world of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ! May God bless him and save his soul!
