The Untamed (陈情令) | "Loss" Trailer

Hi everyone! I’m back with another foray into trailers for The Untamed. This time around, I wanted to focus on the more somber and painful notes of loss, while also inciting a sense of fear. The music that underscores the second half of this trailer is a sung form of the poem “To the Frontier” by Wang Changling, a major Tang dynasty poet who is best known for his poems describing fictional battles in China. The underlying note of the poem featured in this trailer is one of regret and patriotism, although I have chosen to interpret it as a desire for peace. The translation I have subtitled is much less literal than other translations of this poem, as I wanted to align my interpretation of the poem with The Untamed. Hope you enjoy!

The poem is Incredibly moving. This story just moves me so deeply. "Desire for peace" is something I felt was underlying the whole series. Your edit truly captured the emotions within the journey, Thank You I'm blown away...
