  • In this Magpul Bipod review, we take a look at the standard Magpul Bipod vs the newer Magpul MOE bipod. What makes the Magpul MOE bipod different than the standard Magpul bipod? While they may look very similar on the surface, they have some very distinct differences that you really need to know about before you make the decision if the lighter weight Magpul MOE bipod is right for you. Both of these Magpul bipods feature the recognizable Magpul look and feel, but the new MOE bipod shaves a few ounces, while changing a few key features vs the standard Magpul bipod.

Glad I watched this - I was on the fence because I wanted the pan rotation of the regular model, but I need the sling stud version. Finding out it doesn't rotate just saved me $50

Excellent video. You hit all the meaningful talking points without any filler. Definitely helped me make my decision.
Working on my Savage B22, so I can safely choose the MOE without any worries. The lower weight will help make it less noticeable while carrying the rifle. And I'm not too concerned about the swivel/pan features. I'll mostly be using the bipod for sighting in lieu of a bench rest anyway.
    Thanks for the video!

I just came across one of these a couple days ago (MOE) and bought it for my savage bolt action. I love it !!

Thanks for the final section about the "drawbacks" of these bipods. It really swayed my choice.
I come from "Harris BRM-S" land, so all of this was new to me. That one is fairly rigid (assuming you crank down on the knob), no pan, yes tilt.
Thanks for showing "pan" function on Regular/non-MOE -- highlighting it's NON stud! I was considering MLOK, but your wobble is a no-go on benchrest 6.5CM.

Well I'm glad I clicked on this. Was going to get the MOE next but not now knowing it doesn't have tilt.

The giveaway was the price, same Magpul bipod that's $30 cheaper and lighter. No cant or pan.

Magpul bi-pod wobble issue, how to fix ?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  5 місяців тому

Hey there! I don't believe you can remove the wobble. It's part of the way it is designed. Thanks for watching!

You just have to lean into it a little bit “load” them! Look I have both models the moe on my 6.5 and the other one on my AR15 and they are worth the money! If you want a top end bipod you gotta pay top end money! The atlas is like 300 -400 dollars. These are less than 100 but they work!

@Gunfighter5 very true! Good value for sure. Thanks for watching!

which bipod would you think ar platform and t/c eocore. the ar is heavy the encore is 460 ... lots of recoil... with qt style... because of sling stud... dont need pan you said it can be turned off...or get one with out it..and maybe qt to picatinny adapter
for the encore and get picatinny style
adapters?? i have brain injuries have difficulty understanding and hard for me making decisions..thanks
i was magpul. but just want the right one..and right prices.. disability dont pay shit...lol

Hey there! I would probably go with the MOE on a AR as pan and tilt aren't as important there. Otherwise, the standard model is my preference. Thanks for watching!

Should always charge your bipod regardless how much wobble it may have. Original MP bipod has good wobble

Hey there! Agreed...I always load my bipod to some degree when shooting. Some bipods aren't built in a way that requires it for stability though. Thanks for watching!

I found the extra play, cant and pan good for many targets that move like rodents

Yeah that it true! Once you get the hang of how the Bipod moves and feels, it works very well.
