She was peered and called names. They made an MV for the song but withheld it for three years, releasing it 2011 after she achieved national stardom with 2 #1 hits Good Day and Nagging. A song where she completes a time machine her grandfather had started in order to go too the future where she hoped her Love interest would have awaken from a coma or suspended animation. She set the date on the Time Machine to Dec 31st 2019. In 2019 she released her Love Poem Album which contained 2 songs Above the Time and Blueming. In Above the Time certain props and pictures are used to connect the videos and the young man is now awake, but IU's Time Travel journey has landed her in a different dimension. They are able to be together only briefly through a disturbance in the force (my words) which is shown in the video by an earthquake type vibration. But in the end they are still apart. Blueming starts with a disturbance in the force that wakes IU up. In this video the couple are now present in the same time and dimension but separated by a wall although they can now communicate using text messages. The in September of 2021 she released a single Strawberry Moon, which many believe is the 4th and final part of the story. In it IU is waiting for the return of the Strawberry Moon which is the agreed upon time for a reunion of the couple should they still be available. The video then shows that the couple has been together and we see some of there memories. But when sitting in the clouds and having a scoop of the Strawberry Moon the man gets up and hops to another planet. IU let's go of his hand, he offers it to her again and she refuses. She is not interested is wandering around but the young man has some wanderlust. So they part ways, he gives her a necklace saying Let's meet under the Strawberry Moon. We then see him waiting by himself looking at the Strawberry Moon looking concerned. So this 4 MV storyline took 10 years to complete. There are a few MV's that if you don't know the background you stand little chance in understanding the MV, although the MV's are beautiful and stand on their own. One such MV is Eight which is about her struggle in dealing with the suicide deaths of 3 friends. JUNGHYUN of Shinee in 2017 (IU was very close to him, Sulli in the fall of 2019, just as IU was starting her Love Poem tour, who she meet in 2011 when they co hosted a TV show together and became good friends and Goo Hara who passed away 30 days later. 'Only I Didn't Know' hospital girl was the actress Park Bo-young who would go on to star in multiple series and films. Just last year she was in that movie made by the 'Love Wins All' director, the film 'Concrete Utopia'
If I recalled correctly, this MV is about that girl lost her "dad" according to official record, but in her mind her "dad" is actually not her dad but her lover which suggest some kind of incest love in between them that might cause her dad to took his life out of guilt (or may be because she didn't knew that was her dad at first just like in that old korean movie "Old Boy" did that western has remake a version with Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Brolin who end up having sex before "Thanos" realise "Wanda" is his daughter). I guess that's why the song title is "Only I Didn't Know" because she can't accept or rejecting the truth, hence keep failing her theraphy assessment session.
