Paul Harborne, from Sedgley, West Midlands, bought a rare 1960 Cadillac miller-meteor in 2010 and estimates he’s spent more than £100,000 doing it up to create the iconic car over the last five years.
Combining his love for classic cars and the cult film, Paul spent three years painstakingly renovating the car - turning it into the ultimate Ecto-1 replica.
And Paul, 53, certainly attracts some interesting reactions when he’s driving his Ghostbusters car around town.

The extra blue & red lights on the top give the car a mad max look
Ghostbusters is my childhood it was and is everything to me and to see people who love it as much as me makes me so happy
Looks better than the new model they will use. Great Respect man.
did you like the ghostbusters afterlife car
To people who hate or don't like the model of this replica let me talk you guys through this. A '59 Cadillac Miller-meteor ambulance/hearse is harder to find. Only 300-400 of those are made and even though you found one and it's in a junkyard with a body issue, your gonna need a bigger budget to fix and restore fully. You guys notice that there are some replicas that are slightly different and totally different from the movie car. To be honest it's not bad after all. So please, they gave good efforts for this car, no matter how hard they try...
I think it's an amazing looking ecto. I'm super interested in the make, year and model.
I want that car and the Back To The Future Delorean
That looks like a mix of ecto1 and ecto1A
Except that it is neither of those things. He's used the wrong model of Cadillac, and those lights on the roof weren't used on either the GB or GBII cars.
OMG just love this car..
BENDEK09 it's not the ghostbusters car you do know this don't you?
@@RavenTheLabrador Its close but it isn't a '59 Miller Meteor but that's fine. You could say it's Ecto's British cousin. A 1960 Miller Meteor.
It's awesome sir ......good on you for putting in the blood sweat and tears.
It would look a lot better without those huge mirrors.
but still a great job of restoration
Awesome
Dam man they took that out in the rain
Can I say that this is amazing??? that's so cool!!! Imagine driving down the street while your friends stare at you with faces like DUH??? 😐
There's definitely a ghost in this Aldi store!
Thank you for the Great video
Wow!
LOOKS SO COOL IS A MIX BETWEEN ECTO 1 AND ECTO 1A
They should of hired him to make the Ecto-1 for the reboot movie.
burnum this isn't even and an Ecto 1 car if you knew the first thing about Ghostbusters you would know that this is a 1960 and in the film they used a 1959. With this 1960 there are so many differences in this car from the 1969 it doesn't even remotely look like the same car if you don't believe me pull a side-by-side picture of the 1960 and 1959 up and you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
@@RavenTheLabrador thats not what he is saying he said that they should hire him because his cars look way better than the reboots trash.
@@RavenTheLabrador Its a 1961 Miller Meteor ambulance.
WOW 😳😳😳😳😳 IS SO GOOD
COOL
Love the ecto man
Stupenda!
"Who ya gonna call" is a serif font, the number below is not, it bothers me more then it should
I hate the amount of lights too much :/
'61 Cadillac front, '59 tail fins. And what car is the rear bumper from?
Why spend more than £100,000 to create a car that's the wrong model? The Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac ambulance/hearse.
Robert K I know I can't believe he would do this. I won the lottery 5 years ago and I purchased 2 or tge cars and had an Ecto 1 and Ecto -1a made and I can't stress enough that if you have the money just do it right from the start because this is pretty bad in my opinion it's not horrible it would still be fun to drive and have bit it's absolutely 100 % not a Ghostbuster car not at all.
Not only that, but a lot of the details are inaccurate, as there is a mixture of parts from Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A. He's used GBII logos on the doors, but omitted the hazard tape stripes. Those roof lights are completely wrong too. He spent all this money and didn't do his research, or even look at a pictures of the vehicles used in the films first.
Who you gonna call?
RexakonGaming GHOSTBUSTERS!
RexakonGaming 911 because that car looks like a crime scene... ugly
+Rileigh Mae fuck you it's awsome
me!
+RexakonGaming He-man!!!
your in Birmingham !
*Awesome car!!!! :D Happy Ghostbusters Day to everyone!!!! :D*
that's a 61 Cadillac with 59 tail fins
Az Lean sorry to say but you are both wrong this is a 1960 but they are not 59 fins if they were 59 it would look more like the real ghostbusters Ecto 1 car and not this abomination / bad attempt at a Ecto 1 car
+Matthew King No its not the 1960 model. the 1960 model looks the same as the 59 model with different tail fins and a different front bumper. The one used here is the 1961 model.
@@RavenTheLabrador still looks better tham the reboot
They used a 1959 Miller Meteor ambulance in the Ghostbusters movies.
The car in this video is a 1961 Miller Meteor ambulance. Google it.
Still better than the new films car. That thing is awful!
thejokeriscool55 Speak for yourself. I like it.
***** Said no won ever.
thejokeriscool55 'one'
Paul Heyman , I 0
Paul Heyman I agree
Looks cools
it's like a police car
All the lights on the car are incorrect. Sorry to say it. But nonetheless it's a nice car
Kevin Andrews if that's all you noticed was that the lights are wrong then you're not much of a Ghostbusters fan because this is not even the same car not even remotely close to the same car that was used. it's not even a replica the original was a 1959 this is a 1960 take a look at them side-by-side there is so many differences it doesn't even remotely look like the same car. If someone is going to spend that much time and money on something why not do it right with the right car so it actually looks like the actual movie car. And before you say something stupid like if I want to do that then that's my choice let me stop you right there because I do have a actual true movie accurate Ecto - 1 and Ecto - 1a. Anyways again I will say that if you have the money just do it right with the right car from the start.
Great!!!! man
Can I hire u for an event?
Cool
To bad its not a 1959
i like this video this CHRIESTMAES can you ship it to my house this year i realy like that car thank you SEAN WEISSER
£150k on restoring a bit of a movie classic. No wonder he can only afford Aldi, now. "Proper job!" :)
Is this supposed to be a ecto 1a
Wow
Cool and it's bonkers that they use it for 'everyday use' and all, but does it make the noise? =P
Depends on what you mean by "the noise". Even the cars used in the movie did not have the distinctive siren heard in the finished film. That was added later.
@@Rocket1377 That iconic whining siren. Shame it's not actually how it sounded, post production rubbish 🙄😛
well 1958 to 1960 Cadillacs were almost the same
its just the 1959 Cadillac was THE ultimate car that defined the 1950s!
microbusss the 1960 car looks nothing like the 1959 car that was used for Ecto 1 and Ecto -1a pull up a side-by-side picture of both 60 and 59 and you will see just how many difference is there are there are so many doesn't even remotely look the same. it's not even a replica the original was a 1959 this is a 1960 take a look at them side-by-side there is so many differences it doesn't even remotely look like the same car. @@RavenTheLabrador Again the car in this video is a 1961 Miller Meteor ambulance. Google it.
@@RavenTheLabrador This car is a 1961, but after watching a video with a standard '61 model called "shape shifting caddy" (this is the video: ua-cam.com/video/DpSm8wGfZ6k/v-deo.html) on the drive YT channel yesterday, I wonder why it seems that most '61s have 2 "spotties" on them? This one has them on the grill, while the one in the drives video had them in where the registration plate would be. Makes me think of how people put bull horns on 70s caddys (who gave the poor Cadillac a nose piercing?)
How you gonna call...your mum!
Shows awesome Ecto-1 replica. Doesn't play siren. FAIL.
i wouldnt have used the logo from the second movie on the car. the original one looks loads better.
steve m this car is not even from either movie it's not even a replica the original was a 1959 this is a 1960 take a look at them side-by-side there is so many differences it doesn't even remotely look like the same car. Perfect car for the Fake Taxi ;)
I saw this car at someone's wedding
Wo ist die Sirene?
news flash it's the wrong model!!!
Az Lean how many times are you going to say that to people? I'm sure like you they are going to read the comments and see you say that about 100 times lol.😂
looks like a 60 model, ,,, the movie car is a 59 model
Damn there’s so many whining bitches in the comments. Honestly good for you for making a Ghostbusters car. Even if it’s not the correct one, you still put time and money into it, and if you enjoy it and it brings others happiness then that’s all that matters. To actually obtain a ‘59 Miller meteor you either have to be extremely rich or spend years restoring one from the ground up
its clearly a 1961
shaundis buddyguy it's a 1960 if it was a 61 it would look even worse than this one because the original Ecto 1 and 1a was a 1959 and looks nothing like this in the video.
I don't like all the attention
.. But let me put on my everyday uniform and take my inconspicuous car to the grocery store.. You don't think they'll notice us... Do you?
So much stuff on that car is wrong.
But, why the logo of the 2nd one? which was clearly awful? Why not the original?
Az Lean it had more on it but more doesn't mean better. I have an Ecto 1 and an Ecto 1a I built after I won the lottery 5 years ago I like both movies but Ecto 1 is far better and most true diehard ghostbusters fans would agree with this.
wow, very creative homosexual men 👏 👌
There's a new ECTO-1 for the new film. It's a lot less elaborate.
The front does not look right
How it look exactly the same?
ДА, автор просто СУПЕР. Большой + из РОССИИ
I want to be gost buster
2 many light bars
MrJeep75 if that's all you think is wrong with this car then you are not much of a Ghostbusters fan. ummmm ...you forgot to put the caution tape on the ecto 1A SMH if gonna duplicate the outside of the ghostbusters 2 ecto 1A do it right.....
Andrew Newman I think he's got bigger problems than that because first of all this isn't even the same car it doesn't even remotely look like the same car from Ghostbusters 1 or 2 it's not even a replica the original was a 1959 this is a 1960 take a look at them side-by-side there is so many differences it doesn't even remotely look like the same car. its the wrong model the roofs too big
so what
+Michael Gomez go fuck yourself I don't comment on your shit do I
+Peter leage I'm only 12 years old
+Michael Gomez and ?
Peter leage it's much more than that that's wrong with this it's not even a replica the original was a 1959 this is a 1960 take a look at them side-by-side there is so many differences it doesn't even remotely look like the same car. If someone is going to spend that much time and money on something why not do it right with the right car so it actually looks like the actual movie car. He says in the video it's basically the same car from the movie My question is has he even ever actually watched the movie because this is not even remotely the same car. If you think this is the same car pull up a picture of a 1960 and a 1959 look at them side-by-side they are not even remotely the same car there was so many differences which makes this car look absolutely horrible.
Fact lol
Copy/paste much?
This is as stupid as 1978 Chevys being turned into BluesMobiles.
is it just me or they are a gay couple
That my dad wtf
not cool
That's not the ecto-1
#ThingsWhitePeopleDo
