Cowbells. Temple blocks. Claves. Cybal stands cut to different lengths for pitches. The saga will never end as long as theres another thing to hit with sticks.
This one is definitely interesting. It would by far be the most expensive. And there is no way In hell he would be able to march it. The setup would be very easy though
I just had an audition for a state band and I'm worried about if I got in or not. Your videos have helped me become less anxious and and more focused on the things I learned and my passion for music. Thanks a bunch, keep up the great work! (UPDATE: I didn't make it into the band because I was one point below the cut line, but I have 4 more years to try out for it!)
I think balance isn't so hard if you keep the bass in the middle. Keeping the total weight as low as possible, that's the real challenge. I think inspiration should be taken from the so called cocktail drumsets.
The Glassmen marched tenor cymbals in 1994. It was interesting. On a side note, That was also the year that Phantom used woodblock tenors for a bit. You can barely hear them in the recording,
Truly, you are the Mad Scientist of Drums 🥁 The Maverick of Percussion 🛩️ Great work, EMC! 🤟 ...but, like Mav in his test flight, maybe just a little more. Something is missing. This symphony of tenors needs... That's right... More cowbell. 🐮 Cowbell. Tenors. Cownors, if you will. 🎶🤠
Good morning! This is video #1 of me asking for a drumline gym made out of various marching percussion instruments, such as the tenor barbell, and bass dumbbells.
At my school we have a song for our Pep band/basketball band that has a tenor part, but our band director doesnt want to break out the tenors. So our solution was to make a tenor out of cowbells. I would definitely want to see your approach to this as well as I think CowBenors are very nice sounding.
Tymbles, of course. Also I need you to make a tenor set with Hammerax Liquicy cymbals. But they are very hard to get. They once came in 14", 16", 19", 22" and 24". You know what else would be cool is if there was a hand pedal which would function same as a foot pedal, to open one of the hi hats.
Glassmen ‘94 had something similar to this. But the cymbals were upside down in what looked like the bottom part of rototoms.. (back when REMO made drums for a few years) The finals footage doesn’t show them up close though.
Honestly, that is the coolest sounding cadence ever, IMO. Might just be because there is a much larger variety of percussion sounds compared to a normal drumline.
I'd like to see you set up your drum kit in tenor format. Cymbals ,Toms all in Tenor config . And try to play both basic grooves and then alternaive grooves highlighting the "Tenorrness" of the set up.
The first setup made me think that a full marching rendition of the Manowar song “Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in 8 Parts” is called for. Particularly the drum solo section, “The Armor of the Gods.”
Cymbers would be my vote. If a Drum Corps made an effective rack of cymbals that you can march around with, I believe that would be an effective moment in their production. Similar to 2014 Crown's Muffler drumming. However, my tinnitus would hate having to play this style of tenors. Not bad Eric. This video did not make me cringe 😂
Hi Eric I’ve been wondering if you could help me by making a video about how to write a good high school drumline cadence because my section leader said we can use one I make next year as long as it’s good so please help. Thank you and I love your videos ❤ (Also I use MuseScore)
I have to say, marching, I don't see the functionality. However, In a concert setting this could be useful, having different pitched cymbals you can access easily. Especially in moving peices.
One day I will remake these and use smaller cymbals. I have a 8" splash, a 10" splash and a 12" splash. All I need is a crash and a ride with pitches that fit well with the splashes.
I love the fact that he plays traditional on the snenors
Him changing back once it gets demanding highlights once again how useless it is, because it was invented for a tilted drum hanging to the side...
@@joschateichmann1065to be fair it wasn’t made to move around drums
@@joschateichmann1065I mean considering it was made for one drum being used on 5 certainly doesn’t help

@@shadow105720actual marching equipment tho
@@shadow105720 blocks 😮 xylophone but only with these 5 notes
I won't be satisfied until he makes a set of tenors out of entire xylophones and marimbas, and maybe a glockenspiel as a spock drum
You’re not done yet! You now have to make tenors out of marching timpani! Video 1 requesting timpani tenors (timpenors?)
Oh heck nah that’s gonna be really up there on the scale
This one is definitely interesting. It would by far be the most expensive. And there is no way In hell he would be able to march it. The setup would be very easy though
@@ryderalley4853 It should be lighter than the megatenors and marching timpani exist already.
I would love to see this 😂
thats heavy
0:26 I voted for Cyners (sin-nurs) because, as I expected, this is an unholy creation.
me too, it sounds like sinners
me too and also I think it should not be tymbals because it sounds like tymbales a lot, another percussion instrument
@@StefanoChozaand he might make timbale tenors (timbelors)

The cowbell tenors!
Even better auxiliary percussion tenors
saw someone else say it, but I also think "Cymbenors" is a fun name
Eric - that cadence was awesome! Dude, you do cool things all the time but you need to know this cadence was choptastic next level.
The Benors, the Tenors, the Snenors and the Cenors! The names remind me of a Dr. Seuss book; I love it! Brilliant and so much fun!

EMC should play Flight of the Bumblebee on the mega tenors
i'm curious to see your take on a marchable drumset - bass, snare, hi-hat, crash, and tom/tenor. good luck balancing it though
I think balance isn't so hard if you keep the bass in the middle. Keeping the total weight as low as possible, that's the real challenge.

Cowbell. Tenors.
Cownors, if you will.
🎶🤠
What about Tenorborines and Trianors?
So what you're saying is we could have a full drumline sound with just 4 percussionists... Snenors, tenors, bassnors, and cymbers...
How about a tenor drum kit? Mike Mangini style, only not offset like his is.
Magic Of Orlando marched something cymilar in their 1996 show in the perc feature
WOOOO that unison crossover part towards the end!
That was oddly satisfying at the end with the full cadence.
Gong tenors (goners)
would the gongs be vertical or horizontal
Tenbals 🫡
best tenor cadence ever
Very cool video, awesomely written piece. Your ability and gift on drums is amazing. Thank you Eric for sharing it with us in all these fun ways
Now make a drum set made of marching percussion instruments
What's coming next ? Maybe a Cowbell Tenor or one made out of Djembes/Congas ?

Day 1 of asking Eric to make a tenor out cowbells: the Cowtners

I would definitely want to see your approach to this as well as I think CowBenors are very nice sounding.
Let’s go, do one out of Spock’s where the tenors go, and put a tenor where the Spock goes
Tymbles, of course. Also I need you to make a tenor set with Hammerax Liquicy cymbals. But they are very hard to get. They once came in 14", 16", 19", 22" and 24".

Cowbell tenor drum
Cymbalic Tenors -- Cymtenors -- Crash Tenors -- Brass Tenors -- Brash Tenors.
Happy Birthday, Eric!
HE ACTUALLY DID IT LETS GO
ECM you should make a tenor of practice pads maybe idk
I think this is cymbalic of your creativity and hard work!
The set of tenor drums series is on of the best series EMC has on the channel i think.
Now make a complete kit with all the types of tenors.
Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps did something similar in the early 90's. They used REMO Splash Spoxe in their entire tenor line for part of the show.
Make a set of tenors like a piano-arc ( it can spin around you)
I think this contraption looks the most like a Dr. Seuss instrument, and I am way into that lol. Nice stuff!
Tah-Tinker!
Glassmen ‘94 had something similar to this. But the cymbals were upside down in what looked like the bottom part of rototoms.. (back when REMO made drums for a few years)

make mega mega tenors. Mix all the different tenors together.

The Cyenors!

You should make a tenor drum out of hi hats that can somehow open and close while marching
Don’t ask me how
You’re the master mind
Also I like marching drums especially tenors
That cadence was great!
Do jig 2 with the cymbals 😂
He’d need to tune the cymbals.
THE CYNEMORS
THE SEYMOURSSSSSS
CYMNOR SUPREMACY

what if you made a set of tenors out of the bars from mallet instruments. It would either require incredible accuracy or it would be super tiny.
