The very the fact that this content publish has 26k views speaks volumes on Cloud Technology Awareness among Indians. And the Cloud Technology Domain is a niche to begin with a very few who understand and little fewer than that who can implement. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
AWS probably not gonna like me asking this question on their channel but I will anyway - Have you considered a multi-cloud adoption model to accomodate for your scaling challenges? There's a number of other cloud service providers in the market you could use simultaneously during these high consumption scenarios.
IP addresses I suppose. DDOS usually happens with a set of IPs , but here you receive requests from a wide range of IPs. Also I am sure there is an average threshold on number of requests that can be thrown at the server by an IP , once that threshold is exceeded , they block it out
In either case they are well prepared for DDoS. But since you asked, they can monitor the requests and the endpoint it is hitting. A legitimate wave of requests will most likely hit an endpoint that makes sense for when it is happening, the timeline, say something important like worldcup is broadcasting you can't really make out a DDoS unless the DDoS is targeted on a single endpoint where there is no cascading effect on related endpoints. But you can identify a DDoS when there is no significant event on going but still load generation grids gets created.
Jio cinema handled 2.2 cr (22 million) concurrent traffic for a normal ipl 2023 league match of CSK vs RR Wonder what will be the live numbers in IPL 2023 final
Satellites don't exist. GPS not working in ocean. High building antennas are the gps. Internet cables are buried under the ocean. Time to wake up. Trust your senses.. does it feel like we are travelling at 66600 mph around the sun? Earth inclined 23.4 degree? 90 -23.4 = 66.6 now you see it's 666 everywhere.. it's the devil's number.. YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE. Why mercury and venus show up in the night sky? Can any scientist (Illuminati) explain this? No. All 12 months, we see the same stars in the night sky, but we should see some other stars which are in the other side for 6 months. Globe is busted again.
Did I just heard someone saying that even if small concurrent requests exhaust your CPU to 90%, they won't scale??? Just because your metric is based on no. of concurrent requests?
Fun talk. Is there anyone who actually watched this sports game on this service who could comment on their experience? Was it slow or fast to start watching the match? Was the stream quality consistent? Any criticisms? I'm curious of the actual customer experience of the event that shaped this talk.

I enjoyed the vid thoroughly. They have out-beaten their own record in India Pak ICC tournament.

Hotstar is now doing that.
@@rudrapratapsinha8880 which is the other public cloud they use??
Why should they go for second cloud?😊
how do you distinguish legit requests and DDOS at this scale?

you need to login to view the match right?
@@nitreall not necessarily, they offer several minutes before forced login popup comes up

@@omparikh4426 it doesn't matter if you login or not. As soon as you hit any of their application's endpoint, it marks it as a call.
Great talk. Very informative. I enjoyed the talk as much I enjoy using this app everyday.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks Gaurav for those brilliant insights.
Reason was Dhoni for that spike ❤ A Legend for a reason though i appreciate every engineer working on hotstar

How is this cost effective compared to satellite broadcasting?
For the consumers of the content it is cheaper. Per GB mobile data in INR
@@kunalahuja1 Thanks for the clarification

Unless it is not affecting the latency of the program or has a memory leak, it is okay to peak 80-90% of CPU usage.
Very informative 👍👍👍
Should it be even legal to consume 70% of a country's bandwidth?
Legal for whom ? Hotstar or the consumers ? In either case both parties are paying for the internet service they are using.
The peering arrangement makes it very distributed and even for all providers. It is not using 70% of country bandwidth.
Yes because more than 90% of the country's citizens wants to see the match.

I did. It was fluent, no lags or buffer issue.
There was a similar event recently as well. No issues again.
No lags nothing. One thing is that they usually stream 480p common users and FHD for premium
What should i do to get this much knowledge???
Work in fast paced environments like high growth startups. You will get exposure to a wide array of problems with constraints like time and costs.
@@dn5426 True. I am planning to do just that
Get a job at hotstar
Start by learning AWS and work on some projects

This is not userfull. I wanted see his if used quebernetes or some kinda clusters and how he balanced the load. This is total waste of time.
