  • Teacher Zola learned this form of Shaolin Cane 18 years ago, while studying with Master Tom Tran. She comes on camera introducing herself and then
reminds you that Dr. Daniel Hoover and his wife, Veronika Hoover have some excellent videos on Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan with applications -- -( • Tai Chi for Beginners-...
She starts the class showing you how to hold the cane as you get ready for the first movement. The Chinese name for the first movement is called, “Dispelling the Clouds to Watch the Moon”. Teacher Zola proceeds to physically demonstrate this Shaolin Cane form with verbal directions. The other movements also have Chinese names, but Teacher Zola believes that these names may be difficult for many of us to remember; however, it may be easier to remember her verbal and physical demonstration of this form. She sometimes exaggerates the moves, yet does them slowly to help you follow along. Teacher Zola also does the movements in several different directions.
Teacher Zola suggests Shaolin Cane for the whole family. She reminds you to exercise at least 30 minutes per day and to stay hydrated. Also, remember sometimes people have to wear masks because of allergies, so you shouldn’t get upset with people because they are wearing a mask.
She tells us that she’s 72 and Teacher Odie is 83, and they both enjoy doing Shaolin Cane. She sends a shout out to several people and asks you to subscribe to her UA-cam channel if you like it.
Teacher Zola runs off camera after she says she’s going to the track.
