Thanks for this video. I know from living in Germany that voice over is common but It makes focussing on the English so difficult easy as the German in the background is still intrusive. Subtitles would be better. Also hard to see how much oil is on the rag? If metal has to be protected from oil how should you correct noisy keys? Don’t they need to be oiled?
Yes I hate voiceover. I'm from south america and 20 years ago everything had subtitles on TV, now it's all voiceover because they opened to new (illiterate or read-phobic) markets with lower IQ (and the shows are dumber as well)....
Hello, thank you for the video. So I noticed with a little self-taught experience. 1) When the octave hole is used, it is better to play with a fingernail that is not too short so that the highs come out better! 2) there is a method on youtube (title best way to oil recorder) where the flute is in a bath of olive oil and it works very well! thank you
Good afternoon. I'm still a recording student. I would like to read your comment on the wood engravers of the various brands. What are the virtues of each company Moeck, Yamaha, Kung. Please. Thank you in advance!
I'm looking for an alto recorder and am interested in the Modern. One teacher told a student it was an entirely different technique and wouldn't teach it. I love the sound, which I was told was also different, but how different is it from any other recorder? It will be a major major purchase, so I'd really appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!
Thank you for this very helpful video! I am hoping to purchase a Mollenhauer Denner recorder. Does a new recorder need to be oiled before playing? Or has it received an initial oiling at your workshop?

Thanks. I have used a Mullenhauer on a few of my recordings and was not aware of how to take care of the instrument. I am mainly a guitar player.
Thanks for showing how to maintnce the recorder because I'm more of a violinist so this is all new to me

Thank you, I bought my wife a rosewood recorder. We wanted a visual aid before we oiled it for the first time.

Thanks for the info about oiling the recorder. What is the tune at the beginning? It is a stunning piece.
Not mentioned is that you should not get oil on the cork on the joints either

BOILED linseed oil is risky (prone to self-ignite) - but the RAW linseed oil is safe and right for the recorder oiling
