It was a decisive test drive from Bjorn two years ago. After almost one year and half with 46 k km I love my Ioniq. Thanks Bjorn! Regards from Portugal.
We bought my wife's Ioniq after seeing your test in Norway last winter. I liked my wife's Ioniq EV so much, I bought a used one to replace my 5 year old Leaf24 :) A massive upgrade!
Thank you for the re-test of the Ioniq!! Your test of the Ioniq last year was one of the reasons I bought it. You prooved that it works really great for us in the Nordic countries. Takk!
Thank you so much Mr. Bjorn for this video! It's so nice to see that my favourite youtuber hasn't forgotten about my car (it feels like my Ioniq is somewhat a little less obsolete than it seemed before with all the new 64 kWh beauties on the road now). Cheers and all the best to you sir!

Hi Bjorn, so good to see another Ioniq video from you. I now drive one since last september, which I owe you for a big part. And know what? I thank you every day I drive it !!!!! Best regards from south of France, Pierre
Got my Ioniq 2017 used earlier this fall partly due to your excellent analysis videos, notably including how well it does in the cold compared to other EVs. Thanks again. Only thing I wish to make the car better is 50% more range.
I just bought the hybrid premium model and I think it's really good car especially when I moved from lexus is 250 and I didn't really find it slow and I think it's really nippy car on sport mode and very very economical its unreal
Thanks for the video Bjorn! Ioniq has only just this week been released in Australia (finally!!!), and I have ordered one (the EV of course)! Good to hear the wait times for delivery have dropped. I'm sure the wait will be worth it but 3 and a half months is still a LONG time!!! After test driving it 2 days ago - I CANT WAIT to get it!!!
Summer time, my Ioniq regularly hovers around 100-110Wh/km in 100-110 km/h driving conditions. Winter is varying greatly depending on road conditions, but between 150-170Wh/km. With normal heating enabled at -12 C.
Ordered it in September after going through all your videos. Delivery time given was 7 months! Might get it in March if Im lucky. Who is getting it in 3 months I wonder!
The interior does look really good. I have a less-than favorable view of these electric cars. Ioniq is changing my mind. Hope their next version will even be much better.
One of your best videos (there are a good number like this)... Especially because it is genuinely informative! Thank you. One request: please don't swear, it doesn't add any value.
Perceiving of noise level is not only about intensity, but also about frequency. So maybe Ioniq is measurably noisier, but it filters out the uncomfortable frequencies, which is why it is subjectively less noisy than what the numbers say.
Good vídeo. My Ioniq did 49000km. My portuguese numbers would be 110 to 140Wh/km at 90km/h (93km/h), with 140 meaning a big storm, and 155 to 190Wh/km at 120km/h, with 190 being in winter and winter here meaning some 2 degrees C (and Ioniqs sold here don't have heat pump, and neither do the korean ones). So, not being able to do 200km at 90km/h here is science fiction.
Nice job collecting and organizing all that data. Ioniq looks like a really nice EV. Wish they were producing them in larger quantity. I can't wait for you to get your hands on a Model 3 and subject it to your usual battery of tests. In summer the RWD with 18" wheels is very efficient, while AWD and larger wheels both reduce efficiency noticeably. But winter means different tires, lots of energy used keeping you warm, and schmutz on the roads.
What really is impressive with the Ioniq is the range, given its battery size. If you convert 28kwh into gasoline, the Ioniq has a 3.2l gas tank since 1 liter of gas is 8.9kwh. This is insane...
realy nice videos recently Björn and actualy i have Decided to postpone my Change of car until a can aford a used Zoe or Nisan Leaf or what ever i can get. and its all thanks to you Björn.
Thanks for demonstration in winter conditions. Heatpump is fine, also in my gen 1 Leaf, but you don't have to forget that the efficiency of the HP is decreased the lower the temperature outside is. So the Leaf switches to ptc heater lower than 0 deg C because it will make no sense with hp then. Anyway, in a land with a good charging infrastructure, like Norway, you rather can decide for 28kw/h car. Higher capacity nowadays means heavier EV s yet.

I want you to do an noice test at higher speeds. I know the small ones can't go that fast, but you often drive kind of fast when you are in e.g. germany. I would like a noice test in, say your Tesla, at 200 km/h. So I can compare it to other cars. Keep it up!
Just made a 200km run with 36kWh e-Golf on motorway at 120km/h on cruise control all the way. Similar consumption figures at -0.5ºC to +1ºC condition with some rain and light headwind. So far, from previous runs at the same speed, I can guess that headwind has more negative effect than outside temperature (considering your battery is already warm)

And if you feel like waiting you could wait till next summer and see what Tesla is going to do with the mid range version of the Model 3 in Europe and Hyundai is expected to launch a new version of the Ioniq next year as well.

@@Smoje79 Having driven the Ioniq for nearly two years and the Kona for about 3 months, I would agree that the Ioniq has a superb interior and would add that it is also a smoother ride than the Kona and has more interior space. At present the Ioniq loses on range of course, and a slight niggle I found with the Ioniq is the very restricted rear view. If it came to a straight choice between them with the same range, I would go for the Ioniq again.
I'm going to make a total guess that the Kia Soul will measure louder than expected, due to winter condition. My reasoning is that, unless it is wearing winter tyres, the stiffer walls of the tyres will transmit more road noise into the vehicle body. Ready to be shot down there. 😎

Lurte litt på om den referralkoden din går for Model 3 også? Er nå denne UA-cam kanalen som har veiledet meg igjennom denne el-bil jungelen, så er vel denne koden jeg vil bruke :) stå på !:)
Yes, my referral code works on Model 3 as well :)
Ok takker for svar :)
Hello Björn
I hope the VW soon brings the ID Neo is at least half as sexy as an ioniq. The Ioniq is already a nice car drove him test.
You use many German words Is this normal in Norway?
translate with google translater
this car needs 40kwh upgrade. summer range will be easily 300km
So cheap, yet it's $60,000 in New Zealand :(
It looks as if noise is inversely proportional to wheel size....
Bought my Ioniq from Hyundai of Homestead in Florida, biggest thieves of all the dealerships!
But we do have an EV half-that- sexy than the Ioniq . What was it? Let me think. .....So, in mind we have one. Hopefully
What’s up
A tiny car made by Volkswagen. ;)
why did you kill an old Leafs already? they are still alive, so you could do a new comparison test with newer cars
Hæ?
The higher efficiency is probably due to the smaller battery pack
Three and a half months! WTF are hyundai hand building their vehicles? Kia and hyundai have to stop this sheeet ;) NO more compliance vehicles start making bevs like your ICE! ;)
Fancy a Bev Mate? Sorry mate I can guess your IQ level, Hyundai and Kia is not making EV’s for you
There is such a huge demand by several countries world wide, so there is delays and also LG chem is making batteries and they are doing for several
Car companies not just one you mentioned

From gay pop to k pop hehehe :)
Clean your lens, it’s digusting
It's in the inside of the front lens. Impossible to clean it unless I send it to Canon.
