Irish - or Gaelic I guess - sounds a lot like Hebrew. Or Arabic. Apparently, early tribes came to Ireland from the Levant

@@hmq9052 the similarities actually extend beyond sounding similar, Irish shares a number of grammatical peculiarities with Semitic languages as well, a linguistic channel called Langfocus made a video about it. However Irish is also considered to be an indo-European language as well. I think therefore it’s an indo European language with a Semitic subtrate

Ah yes, Maire O'Neill and Aileen Geoghan, I wonder what theyre doing now. I think that was around 1966 or 67. I thought Leabhar Gaelige Linn with Eoghain O'Sullibhain was far better. It used to be on at a minute past 6 every evening just after the angulas.

Everyone wants to talk about learning Gaelic but nobody wants to talk and learn about the master craftsman builder from way back in time An Gobán Saor and his son, My brothers, sister and I learned a lot about the Gobán Saor and his son from our dear departed father who told us also should us the remains of one of his old castles, The building still exists on Henry Gordons old farmlands and that is a recorded fact

The Irish government destroyed the Irish language with its inept teaching programme since idependence. Most of the reachers weren't native speakers and had only a rudimetary knowledge of the language themselves and poor pronunicatiion. Language programmes such as these taught basic phrases but you can't speak a language with basic phrases.A functional language is a means of communication. The Irish language is basicaly dead in that regard.
