I'll just address a few things in the points.
1 - SP. There's a way to grind all the SP you will ever need, and you can do it very early in the game. There are some videos out there on how to do it. The initial set up takes a little time, but once you get going, it goes fast. I got the whole skill tree unlocked before I left for Kark Isles the first time.
2 - Party quests. I largely ignored these. Once you have the skill tree unlocked, most of the stat boosts and other stuff becomes a bit moot. Yes there are some things that are useful in there, but if it doesn't come naturally from playing, I left it.
3 - The other quests. Random quests with the character bubble don't always give stat boosts. Some of them appear in the same place over and over again, but only the first instance gives the stat boost. Combat experience is somewhat unnecessary, especially after reaching level 50, which comes rather quick. It's not your character level, but your equipment that makes or breaks you. You can be level 100 and still get your butt whipped to next Tuesday, or you can be level 20 (the starting level for this game) and kick everything around like Superman kicking a football (see 1978 movie). It's all about equipment, and what you can craft. Money is also useless. I spent exactly zero Cole the entire playthrough (I have 80+ hours clocked because I love to experiment in crafting).
    4. - Keys can be created outside of combat at the landmark locations (except Kurken Island). I do agree that making keys is important. They're great for crafting and are necessary to get the hidden recipes. Outside of the recipes though, treasure chests are useless.
    5. The detailed map can be brought up by just pressing Down on the Dpad (at least on the PS5, I don't know on Switch). No need to bring up the larger area map first. It's quicker than going to the area map.
Sorry if it seems I'm nitpicking.

Perfect timing as I just started the game. I will definitely take your advice to heart.

One thing that helped me out a lot is that the neutralizers you can make at the beginning of the game you can make over and over and use the neutralizers you made to use them when synthesizing them to make them even stronger. So you can keep making stronger neutralizers and then use your old ones to make new ones even better. I was able to make 999 Quality neutralizers and I added stat boosting traits to it and I was able to get very strong early in the game with this.

    For everyone who doesn't know:
The best way to grind SP quickly is to unlock item rebuilding. Rebuilding an item can easily get you between 300 and 4000 SP per rebuild depending on your rebuild level cap. It might actually be a better move to go straight north to get rebuild, then as you're getting more SP, go south for the SP boosts, then get everything north and west at your leisure, followed by everything south and east in whatever order you prefer. Everything goes even quicker if you build a lab base for the 10% SP boost from it.

Bullshit - sp is gained from fusing synthesis.
People complain sp and the skill grid is way too generous!

Hold the map button to get a semi-full screen, transparent map while you're traveling. Very helpful for navigating and finding quest givers or particular markers!

#6 - Treasure chests are pretty useless unlike Ryza 1 and 2....

I want to say that do not follow tip 4. Keys are NOT important, besides minor synthesis benefit, until your last region you visit. That's when you unlock rarity +2 and the keys goes from useless to broken system. It's a bad design system

Thanks for the info but I gotta ask what's up with the image quality of the gameplay is this on switch or is this before they patched out some of the graphical problems with the shimmering and blur 🤔

I’ve played most of the first one… I started the series right before 3 came out because it was the first I’d heard about it and I wanted to enjoy the 3rd as much as possible. Does anyone think I could skip the second one and go straight to 3 from 1 or is 2 something that should be experienced? Thank you!

@@Dazza768 maybe 10 or so? I havent really been tracking them, i just do them as i see them. There are quite a few, and sometimes you have to manually return to the home atelier to keep them progressing.

I actually managed to snag a copy of Ryza 2 for a decent price, and I wanna pick up Ryza 3 soon before it gets to the secondhand market. Really excited to dive into these soon

Yeah the skill tree is probably one of the most annoying thing about this game. It's easier to get things but the numbers to unlock some stuff is absurd

I'll potentially come back to this in like 8-10 years when I have bought and played Atelier Ryza 1 and 2(with how expensive Joe's games are, it'll take me awhile to buy any ryza game, belt alone 3)
