Ingredients
Chicken -1 kg
Kashmiri Chilli -1 1/4tbsp
Chilli Powder -3/4tbsp
Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
Coriander Powder -1 1/2 tsp
Salt -
Garam Masala -1/2tsp
Onion -3 medium
Tomato -11/2 small
Green Chilli -4
Water -1 cup
Curry leaves -
Oil -
For Masala Paste
Ginger -medium piece
Garlic -6
Fennel Seeds -1/2tsp
Pepper -1tbsp
Method
Take a Pressure cooker and heat it on low flame. Add coconut oil, when it is heated up add the paste( grind together 6 cloves of garlic + small ginger + fennel seeds + 1 tbsp pepper ).Saute .Add 3 finely chopped onions. Add salt. Saute well. Add green chillies. Add the oil if necessary. Saute and add Curry leaves. Saute well and reduce the heat.
Add turmeric ,Kashmiri chilly powder , chilly powder and coriander powder. Saute till the raw smell goes. Add tomatoes saute. Add ¼ tsp garam masala and then add some water and let the tomatoes to cook. Close the lid half way till the tomatoes cook well. When the oil churns on the top you can add the chicken pieces. Check the spices and sourness of the gravy and adjust accordingly. Add 1 cup of hot water. And allow the chicken to cook for 1 whistle on medium flame.
Allow the gravy to thicken. Keep the cooker on medium flame. Add some garam masala. Keep boiling for some time. Add some slit green chillies and some curry leaves. Remove from the heat.
On a small saucepan add some shallot . saute till brown add sme curry leaves . saute . add to the chicken curry. Close the lid and keep it for 5 mins.
