My mother has been using vaseline to remove mascara for 30+ years and the woman has hardly any eye wrinkles at 63. I swear, less product is best. Thanks for sharing!
Your skin is unbelievable, it looks like porcelain. My mom only used Ponds cold cream on her face, no soap or water, her whole adult life. She died at 83 with not a wrinkle on her face. Bless her heart.
My Nanny only used Pond’s too! I have to be careful with my products, being sensitive to gluten, and other things, but I am looking for a cheaper, healthier alternative!
You are tooo adorable❣️ This video was just like I was sitting having tea with you chatting-up about girlie makeup stuff😊 You are one of the most “real” people on YT. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You're so right! There is no need to buy expensive products! I buy suave shampoo and ponds cleanser & moisturizer at the dollar store and it works just as well as anything expensive.
Thank you, Tawra! I just ordered the Ordinary product and am looking forward trying it!! (I've been looking for a good exfoliant!!) I worked in the cosmetic/skincare industry for years and can tell you that SO many of the products they push are completely unnecessary. You've got it just right. Cleanse, exfoliate, & moisturize with SPF. Done. Your skin is just beautiful!!!
I'm loving your hair colour now, it suits your skin tone so much better. Did you find you needed to change any makeup colours to brighten your face up since going grey?
I buy a bottle of locally made goat's milk lotion to use as a facial moisturizer for $6 that lasts the whole year. Not as cheap as the Walmart/Olay stuff, but a nice alternative if store-bought makes you break out.
Excuse my ignorance..but I am just learning to do makeup. How do you put the foundation on? Do you rub it on with your fingers or use a brush? I tried a brush but didn't do so well. I would LOVE if you would make a video showing us how you apply everything! Thanks!
You've always had lovely skin! I use the same Lover Stay-put lipstick. When my doctor commented on my skin looking younger than my years she said, "I bet you've never smoked!" She was right. It does make a difference. I rarely have alcohol too, maybe an occasional glass of wine. I'm going to try your dream matt mouse foundation. With love from BanDana Gramma ❤❤
I remember seeing a video with your mom where you said “you do not need 45 eyeshadows”.......I couldn’t believe what I was looking at when I saw the tray of lipsticks 😂I honestly never saw that coming 😂just so unexpected almost fell out of my chair 😂and then Tawra says “i have no idea how this happened “ 😂😂😂 Metoo! #storyofmylife This made my day 😍
Funny because last night I watched a video on UA-cam by a very well known dermatologist. Guess what she recommended for taking off eye makeup? Yep, baby shampoo. I will definitely be purchasing baby shampoo once I use up my present eye makeup remover. I watched this because you absolutely DO have beautiful skin! I'm thinking of also trying the foundation you use when mine is gone.
Everything other than mascara I’m convinced is fine to keep, and I may just be talking about my self hear as I get irritated by it when it gets old. I wonder whether the advice to get rid of make up routinely is promoted by the make up industry just to make you buy more.
I buy a lot of avon eye products. But only when it is on sale like buy one get 2 free. The eyeliner lasts about 2 years. I am alergic tomany products so I use only Almay when it is on sale at cvs. I too have been blessed with good genes I will be 1 step away from 70 this year. My hair is just starting to get a few strands of gray. Most think I am in my mid 40s. Lol oh I wish.
I have had my lipstick collection for years too. I got a set of about 12 to 15 tubes for a couple of dollars each several years ago in different shades and since I usually only wear it to church it lasts a long time.
I just wanted to mention Tthat , you and your mom looking great , I was thinking what if you hadn't been through all those unfortunate life experiences👏🏻🙌🙏🥰💜☮🤲
Love this video! I've been waiting for this. You have beautiful skin and you look much younger. From your recommendations, I'm interested in trying Flower products by Drew Barrymore and Elf products. If you feel up to it, I would love to see a video on how you apply your makeup, how you care for your hair and skin on your body e.g. which body lotion do you use? That would be great. By the way, I'm a coeliac so I must eat a gluten-free diet. This includes gluten-free skincare/makeup too as I'm very sensitive. I'm aware that you eat a gluten-free diet. Are there any beauty products that you use that needs to be gluten-free? It would be great if you can discuss gluten-free beauty products in a video too if you feel up to it. Regards, from Sydney, Australia 🌷
You have beautiful skin! So does your mum. You've inherited wonderful genes. Even if one hasn't such stunning genes i still think your regime is spot on. 😊💚🌹
Wow! Great routine. Beautiful skin. I quit using covergirl when they had a man advertising as their "covergirl". The Ordinary is such a blessing for our wallets. I use an equate walmart dupe for cerave cleanser and lotion too. Love those! They last at least 6 months of daily use.
You say WARSH just like my daddy does! I love it! I started using cereve daily moisturizer with spf. I need to find a face wash. I am almost 45 and still have face bumps!
I use to wear mascara, had cancer on my left eyelid & had 1/3 of my eyelid removed & the next day a plastic surgeon did reconstructive surgery. My eye lid looked great he did a great job. So later on after the healing I thought I'll start wearing mascara again. So I started putting it on & it looked great on my right eye but I then realized when they did the surgery & reconstruction I only had like 3 eye lashes on my left upper eye lid. Tooo funny. I am blonde so could not tell prior tying to apply mascara. Needless to say I no longer wear mascara. A simple thing for me to give up & I am very great full for the cancer to be gone & to have a very good plastic surgeon who repaired my eyelid. I can live without the eyelashes & mascara. Love your show & you have beautiful skin.
Hi Tyra. Yes I am 52 and u don't use anything on my face except for exfoliation twice a week. Wear a collagen lotion by St. Ives and it is wonderful! I don't touch makeup. Hate it. But people still say I look like I'm 40. Si I'll take it! You look very youthful and pretty.
If you are looking for a good setting spray, ELF has a couple of good ones that are less than $3. I've used higher end sprays, but I always go back to ELF
Wow, that is amazing. Good for u. Anyway, u have a pretty face with a beautiful skin. Enjoy ur youth look and God bless u. Happy Memorial Day. ❤️🤍💙🙏🇺🇸✝️👍👏
The lipstick trey is cool. It is hard to find a lipstick at times that really looks good. So I find I need to find one I really like to wear a lot. So I use lip balms a lot.
May I suggest that changing out your mascara more often (every three months) may save you from an eye infection and a visit to an Ophthalmologist...please be careful at the reasonable price you are paying (me too) it is better to be safe. You cannot replace your eyes. I am a semi-retired nurse, now 66. I have excellent skin and I find the less I use on it the better. I am a natural blonde with medium-light to light skin. The foundation that causes a breakout can be contaminated because you did not wash your hands or make-up brush before applying. Any reaction from a foundation indicates you should discard it. How about using a tinted facial lotion with SPF instead? Saves money on a product. I exfoliate my skin by mixing baking soda and water into a paste and lightly scrubbing once per week and then I rinse my skin with 20 splashes of water. Hydrotherapy makes it glow. Just fill your sink 1/3 full of water for the splashes--do not let the water run and run from the spout. Thank you for your great video.
I've commented before on your lovely complexion. My only word of caution about ELF products-they are made in china. I bought some online not knowing that and ended up throwing them away!
My skin care is basic as it gets.barely wear makeup.when i do,soap, water.pat dry.go over again with cotton or muslin and witch hazel ,in an upward motion to be sure everything is off my face.then lotion.whichever one i have handy at the time.simple.
I keep things simple and natural. I'm 44 but I do still look youthful but it's because I choose not to drink, smoke or get a lot of sun exposure. I eat clean and sleep and exercise daily. I also only wear Natural make up when I go out. I stopped colouring my hair in my early 30s as I didn't want chemicals seeping into my scalp. My gran used ponds cream until she died and only wore lipstick and she looked beautiful 🤗
I fell down the skincare rabbit hole on UA-cam during the past year. They got me to spend money I regret! The products I tried and will stay with (52, large pores, combo-acne prone skin, dry cold climate, sensitive, and melasma) are generic brand Cetaphil cleanser, Neutrogena pore refining toner (no need for a seperate acid as it has aha/bha in it), Cerave skin renewing night cream, and I mix Aveeno sensitive skin spf 50 mineral sunscreen with my foundation during the daytime. When I need some wrinkle eraser under my eyes or extra moisture, I use good ole Vaseline, ha, ha! Still more $$ than Tawra spends. But, I learned the hard way that you can't outrun genetics EXCEPT when it comes to smoking and sun exposure. If you don't smoke, wear sunscreen and hat daily, year round, you will be fine. The rest is pretty much money down the drain! Once I'm done this night cream, I may switch to a real cheapy.
This is a great video! Not to sound cheep but just an FYI. That you can get most of the stuff you have, but Walmart products, you can get at dollar tree. Just to help you save more money $$$$.
i told you before you have pretty skin i use that walmart brand also used to usethe olay kind i was told when its past the expired date toss it but i dont i want to try that roc kind and i have some brown spt suffand it smells its cheap i dont like creams that dont glide
Be careful using the Mandelic acid - especially in the summer, it makes the skin thinner and less tolerant in the sun, you could get skin damage. You can thin it out as well, to use as often as you do. - Would last you 2 years! 😉 Keep it away from your eyes as well. To peel my skin, I use a dry wash cloth, rubbing gently. Then I clean it off with cold water. I am 53, no wrinkles. I have been using day and night cream and an eye cream my whole life. I quit the expensive brands many years ago. I only buy new creams when I´m out of them, and a new mascara 4 times a year. Same cleaning routine as you. Guess I spend about $50-60 a year, and this is in the most expensive country in the world - Norway.
Wish i could use the cheaper stuff. I have extreme sensitive skin. I cant wear mascara. So i watch for sales or birthday coupons at certain places. Ive just gone all natural no make up
Are you still going to move to the new home?... I thought in your last video you said you guys were staying in your current home?? If so, what happened??
I didn’t see the price of your mascara but at Ulta they have a brand essence for mascara it’s $2 bucks and some change. To remove make up you can use a drop of oil like avacodo, olive whatever and a warm cloth and make up just melts off. Oh yeah and dollar tree has really good stuff too
I don't wear any makeup so my routine is VERY cheap. I buy one bottle of acne face cleanser, because at 48 I will still break out if I don't use it. One bottle costs $9.50 and lasts one-two years. To be fair, though I'm not as pretty as you are.
I wondered about that too. I always liked Ellen, but have heard things about her being a bully lately. I wonder if it is the people she had employed? , but then again, people aren't always as nice as their public persona, so hmmm...?

@@rodnajean9508 I use organic rose seed oil, amazing stuff. I have highly sensitive skin and it doesn't bother it.
My mom used Ponds too. And she used it every day!! She had beautiful skin. I could only wish for such beautiful skin.

Hi Tawra, could you please do a tutorial on how you put on your everyday makeup routine 🙏
That would be great
Yes, please do that!
I buy a bottle of locally made goat's milk lotion to use as a facial moisturizer for $6 that lasts the whole year. Not as cheap as the Walmart/Olay stuff, but a nice alternative if store-bought makes you break out.

I think consistency with the moisturizer/sunscreen as well as removing your makeup each night also plays a big role.
I enjoyed the video. I used to wear makeup all the time, but for some reason I stopped. I'm now inspired to start wearing it again.

How much mandelic acid from the Ordinary do you put on? I ordered some and there are no directions for amount on the bottle.
