    Nice! So you didn't have to do any programming with the new ecu? I'm replacen the ecu on my Z but someone told me programming is required

      @@danielaguirre5897 nope, no programming was required. Now the company I purchased it from may have done some programming. They asked for the S/N on the original ECU and for the cars VIN.

      Is that what caused the ECU to fail? My 350z had water all in the floor boards bc the entrance hole from where the ecu harness penetrated the firewall was allowing water to pass through.
      I used caulk chord and the leaking is gone…but my Z is a crap shoot for whether it starts or not, now.

      @@NeonTuner524 Im not sure. When I bought the car I did a decent inspection and there was not any sign of leaking in the main cabin area. No water stains, mold/mildew, sour smell ect… I suppose it’s worth another more focused inspection though. Thanks for question and the bit of knowledge.

    What kind of cam sensors do u have and crank shaft sensor cuz I’m having a crank issue but no start

    • @AdrianBilladeau
      @AdrianBilladeau  Рік тому +2

      Definitely run the OEM factory sensors. You can either pick them up from a dealership or Z1motorsports.com. These two locations should have the most up to date versions of the OEM sensors. They are also gonna be more pricy.
      Your local parts houses should also have them. But from what I understand they do not last. Hope this helps out and I hope that you are able to get the issue solved and your Z back on the road.

    I’m having a crank no start problem on my 04 Z. But if I disconnect the battery, touch the terminals together to kill any left over power and then reconnect them to the battery, my car will start and run fine until I turn the car off again then I have to repeat the process. Did you also experience this?

    • @AdrianBilladeau
      @AdrianBilladeau  3 місяці тому +1

      No, I did not have this issue. Mine would just turn over and over and over and not start up. The ECU was fried for some reason. Replaced that and she started right up, no issues afterward.

      @@AdrianBilladeau mine too will just keep cranking. But if I disconnect the terminals from the battery and, kill off any left over power in the car then re connect the terminals to the battery, my car will start and run fine. But if I shut the car off and go to start it, the problem returns. I got my battery and alternator checked which they said were completely fine… so that leads me to believe I have an ecu problem

    Quick question. How did you know
    It was not the IPDM ?

    • @AdrianBilladeau
      @AdrianBilladeau  Рік тому +3

      I check all of the fuses there and everything was fine. I thought it was still a possibility too. But I did a pretty in-depth check on just about everything you could check. So I came to the conclusion that the ECU was not operating correctly. I mean everything worked except the injectors.
      Swapped the ECU and it fired right up with no problem.

    • @AdrianBilladeau
      @AdrianBilladeau  3 місяці тому

      @@farhanfarooq8666 because everything worked as it should except for the fuel injectors. To my knowledge the ECU is the only thing that controls the injectors. The car fired up immediately once the ECU was changed out.
      But the BCM can also be faulty causing similar faults. Something about the early NATS systems having a lot of issues. That’s why a lot of people end up deleting it or bypassing it. Again this is coming from the research I did leading up to changing out the ECU.
