back 40 years ago, we had this problem at the north head of Jarvis Bay. We solved the problem by putting 2 oz sinkers on our heavy spin outfits and aiming directly at the outboard motors every time they came in range. Sometimes we'd connect, but near misses were enough to impress. I'd imagine 1/2oz sinkers on light gear might have a "curative" effect on kayaks

Forget your brother in law's advice. I often catch the carp THEN the turtle! Nah, seriously though, I was reeling in a turtle I caught on a yabby, a cod came and ate it. Lake Tuggeranong, Canberra. You'll catch natives and turtles if the natives are around.

Amazing what some people will do just because they think they have the right or are self entitled. Whats amazing is there out there for exercise and the extra 5m to go around is going to kill them. You handled you self very well, knowing my self i would have started a highly precision casting session first with sinkers moving to a jigging session for the infamous angry karen whale fish.

I found it amusing that apparently she couldn't change her course "now". Though she had a good 50 metres prior to do it..
