13:57 ‘Glenmorangie Signet’ is my personal top 10 favorite scotch, and top 25 best whiskies of all time. I’m sober now, and plan on staying sober forever. BUT if I had to drink one whisky again It would be ‘Signet’. It’s one of those dram pours that teleports me to the past. When I dated this beautiful British woman when I lived in the U.K and drank her families secret hot chocolate recipe. 😂 It sounds so stupid, but it’s a nostalgic bottle for me.
RR15 is not coming out #1 in most of the channels' Best Of The Year rankings *when it's tasted blind* . Over on Reddit I saw a comment from a guy saying he and his buddy both thought RR15 was THE pick this year. But then they put it in a blind and both guys had Jack 12 beating RR15!
@@Best_Served_Neat_On_Ice i can see that. Personally I don’t consider blind the be all end all. Most times blind tastings are smaller pours and tasted with other bottles. This can cause overlapping flavors. I prefer to do evaluations on a full 1.5 ounce pour with no other whiskey. Drinking different bottles simultaneously will cause flavor bleed. Also I don’t drink blind for enjoyment so why should I drink blind for evaluation
@@Best_Served_Neat_On_Ice If you don't blind with sparkling water or a palate cleanser you're not blinding at all. I put GTS 24 and Pappy 15 next to RR15 and RR15 crushed both.
@@steveno7058, Just saw It's Bourbon Night's "Best Of 2024" blind and, must say, it's the most *thorough* Best Of The Year blind of any channel. (By "thorough" I mean, to see which bottles would participate, over days, Chad and Sara separately scored many bottles blind, then averaged each of their bottle scores to arrive at the highest scoring bottles, then put those highest scoring bottles in another blind that they did together.) Prior to doing all that, Chad said he had expected either RR15 or Heaven Hill 18 would win Best Of Year and Sara had expected Best Of Year would be either Eagle Rare 17 or Heaven Hill 18. You know what won it all for both of them? Jack 12!
just got gifted the g4 7yr and its unreal cant wait for it to breathe a couple of months. Ive never tried tears or rey sol so I cant compare but straight out the bottle it was amazing. I think after a month I will say it should be priced at 350 max
Happy New Year to the gang!! Is 2025 the year that Curiosity Public finally reviews ONE single Balvenie product? What did Balvenie do to you to deserve being ignored for so long!? Hmmm!?!? =) Love the channel =)
I picked up a bottle of Balvenie double wood a couple months ago at Costco. I enjoyed it very much; it's a lot better than the Glenfarclas 10 I'm currently working on. Meh
Good picks, and happy New Years. Turkey is the only one ive had and its very good.Am a g4 fan, but the limited releases are getting way too expensive. Ardbeg is my goto islay, but decided to only go to that $120 range for the coryvrecken which i think beats most of their unique releases that are way more $$.
Have you tried Tierra de Ensueno yet? I loved their Blanco and the Reposado even more depsite not being a reposado lover. That brand is what Cazcanes should have been
I have a back up bottle but currently the Maestra Selecion 1 is my LEAST favorite offerings from Mijenta (yes even the crystalino I felt was better). That being said, when I open the other bottle on a special occasion, maybe I'll have a different opinion.
I have to admit that I have a hard time with Beam products. The only ones I've really enjoyed so far are the Knob Creek Single Barrels and Knob Creek 12. Everything else seems overpriced for what it is and/or lacking in flavor and complexity. It's for that reason that I don't think I can bring myself to buy a bottle of Little Book.
Depends if you feel like drinking an anejo or a Blanco! The anejo is much more expensive, so from a value perspective the maestra is probably a little better.
It’s just their list. I don’t live through their channel. I’m drinking Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength. That Ardbeg is joke, just like most of the committee releases have been. Bourbon of the year is Bardstown Origin High Wheat. Tequila is Tequila Ocho Anejo.
I can’t relate to your guys anymore. Signet Reserve for $350? And yet THEY STILL don’t have an age statement for it? And the highlight is the box and bottle design? Nah man. I’m a drinker not a collector. Hope you guys focus more on what’s actually in the bottle in 2025
Have you tasted it yourself?? I have a bottle (LOVE the standard Signet but this is even better!). Go actually try it, then make a comment about its price or whatever’s got you so bothered. Great presentation also matters, but what’s in the bottle is why it’s on the list. If you’re somehow quite concerned with age statements for blends, then that’s really a “you” problem. PS…Drinking and collecting aren’t mutually exclusive things.

I think the little book chapter 8 really stood out over the infinite. Folks are sleeping on that bottle, really great.
Yeah, Little Book 8 was great too.
Hey I was wondering if you can tell the difference on the bottle between batch 3-4 of the 2024 G4??
Russells Reserve 15 is THE pick this year. Had it against Pappy23 and GTS. RR15 absolutely destroyed it.

Happy new year! Here's to some Balvenie in 2025 hopefully!

Balweenie sucks dong for the money they ask. That's why.
Is $70 really a bargin? That's how much the G4 Maderia is when it showed up locally to me
Hopefully y’all review more rum next year. Would’ve like to seen the top ryes too. 2024 was a great year for rye.
Great picks!

I can’t wait for y’all to include non-tequila mezcal!

New studio audio is... Ehhh... Crappy... Hope it gets better!

When are you guys gonna do Famous Grouse for the Ultimate Spirits competition? ;)

Burnt 2 many times on beam products. Don't even try anymore
Did you get the signet reserve online?
would you say that mijenta maestra is better than their anejo? because the anejo is one of a kind
Depends if you feel like drinking an anejo or a Blanco! The anejo is much more expensive, so from a value perspective the maestra is probably a little better.
Patreon payed for it I’m sure
Isn’t artificial colouring allowed with Scotches? Is the Signet given colouring
SMWS the best way to the Best whiskies 😉
I’m surprised Dutch didn’t push for 1924. I can’t put it down.
Yes! It should have received an honorable mention
Bourbon: RR15, Tequila: Lalo High Proof, Scotch: don't care lol
Yo ! Tequila, if you can get a free bottle , which would you pick: Tears of Llorona, Rey Sol , or G4 extra 7 yr ?
For free? The G4 since it's the most expensive! All 3 are excellent though.
Best wishes for 2025 All !!!
$170 bottle of Scotch as the value pick? Jesus Christ. I just can’t relate to you guys anymore

If you are going to hang a big curtain, might as well do a green screen.
The little one is so yappy
Batch 4 of the Madera is the weakest of the 4 releases. Maybe a bit ambitious to release two lots in the same year.
No one cares about rum anyway. 😂
Love the show but y'all chugging Kool aid on that little book! The marketing got to you man.
How does a non-bourbon win Bourbon of the year? Lost the plot on this one boys.
Anything over $100 shouldn’t be considered under the bargain range. I’d argue maybe even $75
Little Book better than Russell's Reserve 15? Opinion discarded.
16👍
