Thanks for the video! I am looking for this exact same option, including the windows. Can you comment on dealer markup on the AWD version? Was the exterior (black) door slide rail an option?

These sprinters look so good! I personally like the look of the short roof model the best. I can’t wait to get one in AWD. I have a large family and this makes sense for us. I drove a cargo version several years back for work and loved it. As much as we love our Toyota sienna minivan we are quickly outgrowing it and traveling with any luggage is getting harder and harder.

Having owned a 4WD before and now AWD SUV, I would agree that for most of the time AWD was all I need for the type of driving and off roading I do but installing a front winch is great advice.

Nice van. Fuel economy would be a big plus for me not only for the budget but for more autonomy. I am curious to see how reliable the new engine will be at higher mileage. More power from a smaller engine comes with a price, probably higher compression and more complicated parts. When the 4x4 Sprinter came to America, in 2015, we waited 9 months to have it, made in Germany. Back then, the dealer gave us pages and pages of options and we chose exactly which one we wanted. If they had a package, it was only because it was cheaper than choosing the options separately. We have all the options available, only excluded the GPS (500$) and the total was a little more than 63,000$. Back then, the vans were made in Germany, tested, then disassembled again(for lower tax purposes), shipped to US and still 20,000$ cheaper than now when they are made here. Hmmm.

I agree with the reliability concerns posted on this comment. Complex of the dual turbo and engine has not been proven over high mileage and longterm ownership. MB as it is expensive too service let alone maintain. MB dealers are far and few apart as well😢

Had a 2016 with the 4cyl diesel and the Bosch fuel pump went bad at 103k just out of warranty. 1000 miles from home, repair estimate. Over $16k. Let’s just say I don’t have it anymore. Stay away! Engine light constantly.

I think the AWD platform is better for vast majority of users. Didn't they bring this over from the G class SUV rigs ?

    My take:
It is not yet a Transit killer yet
-transit has awd for a ling time
-service techs know that there r not too many of them, hence...

Remember in this trial the van is not loaded so be careful comparing with your previous van which I assume it is fully loaded.

True. But I’ve driven plenty of empty 4x4 vans recently so I can tell the difference.

Oh my heavens! Yet another review that is supposed to help us decide between the 2023 AWD and the earlier 4x4 , YET there is no off roading, dirt roading, snow, sand. We know the average city driver will like this better, but NO testing in conditions that really need the 4x4 or awd.
