- Our beaches finally opened for a few days, and I headed South to find some fish. I managed 25 kingfish by mid morning, and ran video until the battery died. It felt SO nice to be back on the open water for a while!

Good evening, Professor "Gibbons". Watching oldees. This is just one of the great ones.
The wind tomorrow is absolutely ridiculous. 30-55 😱. Can't wait for things to calm down so that you... And I...and others, can get back out there and do what we love to do.
It's killing me too. Water temps are finally back into the "fishy" zone and I know they're out there waiting for us to show up, but the wind just won't quit this year.
Love your videos Glenn!
Thanks Josh, I just wish the wind and local authorities would allow us to access our beaches more often so I could post more of them!
I'll be waiting to see that new bait fish rig your using.
My buddy is pushing to get it on the market soon. He'll be selling it under the name Cat3 (like a hurricane). It's one of those good ideas that everyone will kick themselves for not thinking of it first.
I need to get back to fishin' again. Thanks for the video!!!
As always a clinic put on by professor. Happy to watch you out there making quality videos love your channel
Man...Glen. I just love that screaming drag. Great fishing action and some really good fish fights to boot. Good fishing to ya Brother.
Very nice Prof! Always looks forward to your videos man!
Great video as always! Much enjoyed! I had a boat break off one of my lines while I was doubled up out there the same day. Very frustrating. We rigged up live bait and caught some real smokers. The kings were on fire for sure! Good luck and tight lines!
Went twice out to the 4 rigs past the Bob Hall rig, once 3 weeks ago and again yesterday with the TKF BTB crowd...20+ yaks on the water and only about 4 kings caught. I have come up short and I've done everything by the book, very disappointing.
All I can say is keep at it Roy. I’ve made trips where the fish just weren’t in the area many times. It’s not what we hope for, but sometimes they move off to some other area only to return later. Those rigs usually hold good fish but as you’ve seen, no place is a sure thing. I enjoy my time out there even when I don’t find fish, but of course it’s more fun when the rods are bent.
@@wgmadden1 Thank you Glenn, just had to vent a little. I guess I'm expecting too much for twice a year 8 hour round trip driving fishing trips :) I'm looking for a new job opportunity, either in the PNW region (coastal, salmon and steelhead) or NC coast, fantastic blue runs and much better cobia action.
Live bait or lures?
@@riprockvx9 lures and frozen ribbonfish
Glenn Madden I’m good with that. Was wondering about buddy who said he hasn’t caught an King’s yet.
I gather live mullet and use those on a king rig.
If winds are low, I’ll got out Wed morning from beach by Bob Hall and troll off beaches.
Nice Kings. Glad you're back at it. Miss these video's
Hey Glenn at a moderate paddle effort what speed are you clocking on the GPS? Ball park.
Five to five and a half mph just paddling comfortably, but I often move slower while fishing to keep my baits at the right depth. I have paddled across the bay (5 miles each direction) in 20 mph winds and maintained 5 mph for the entire 10 mile trip. Stealths are pretty fantastic for comfortably moving quickly!
What lures was the most productive for you for the king if you don't mind me asking?
Halco Max 110 in baitfish pattern. That one kills them everywhere I fish, whether trolled or drifted.
Glenn Madden thanks ordered some
Do you still have your old Santa Cruz, or you sold it?
Chris Hardgrove I sold them. Those were cool boats, but the Stealth is better suited to what I’m doing.
Do you still fish with your old Viking buddies that I use to see circling you in your past vids?
Jrhnhemp I still fish with Tod but his engineering job is keeping him really busy lately. The rest of the guys are around, but with COVID getting together is tough.
@@wgmadden1 has Tod tried keeping up with you on your ski?
That would make a great fun video. Race to the platform!
Jrhnhemp Tod has the fast Stealth, and that was a big part of me getting one. Got tired of chasing him out ...now he can chase me. 😬
Nice action. The boat/kayak issue is everywhere.
To this point I think it's mostly people who just don't think about it very carefully, so we end up with some close calls. I hope that people will adopt the old "Golden Rule". That would make things so much nicer, even when lots of us are fishing a pretty small structure.
Will you ever do another aquarium mahi-mahi video I think I remember you saying the last one you had died do you think you'll ever get another one as a pet
I can't find anyone in the world who sells them - they don't travel well and almost always die during transfer. I caught mine while dipping up sargassum weed chunks in search of a different type of fish. Trust me, if I ever find another, she'll come home with me and there will be video!
@@wgmadden1 ive been looking for one everywhere and I think we got the same results, thanks for responding to me. I hope you find one.
I think it's a lack of common courtesy? I don't think those folks came up right? Or were taught decent manners. Yak or power boat doesn't matter they'll get all over ya. I couldn't imagine that many kings in a day! Just awesome.
