Very nice, the leader and all looks like a fish finder with about a 2oz egg sinker, so it got me thinking that you caught this on a live-line situation (live bait). That's so awesome, I need to hit the lottery to hook one of these when I only go offshore like this once or twice a year. BRAVO ZULU!
Thanks, but this was caught on a dead ribbon trolled on a standard wire rig. There was some GoPro effect on the screenshot making the lead wire look longer than it was.
@@wgmadden1 yea heck even at one point that egg sinker looked like it was an 8-ouncer! Anyway, all I have is a short club w/o a nail. I'd be a little worried my dumb ass would sit on that damn thing LOL. Does that nail really neutralize better than just a good ole beating?
Great catch. Why are'nt you riding the Stealth? Stealths handle the putting away and storing of big fish so much better than a Viking which requires so much more effort to get it in the hatch behind you (risking a tip over which Ive seen multiple times) and then the tail sticks out to bake in the sun which is far from ideal. Stealths are so much better for launching and beaching in waves as well
Tell those fish to pull you toward the sun. Much better when the cobia turned and lit you up. Depth perception on camera is deceiving. Looks like the rig is a long way off on cobia fight.

Viking sponsors me and Stealth does not, so on days a Stealth is not required I’ll usually be paddling the Reload.

He was being uncooperative, but I was trying to do that. Every time I turned the boat, the fish turned be back to the "sun" angle.
