This is wonderful. I am so happy for Kurt. He is such a lovely fellow. I enjoyed selling his pipes in the 90s. He deserves all of the success he has worked so hard to achieve.
It was recently that I began to follow you on Instagram. I had no idea you had a pipeography on UA-cam. So much history and much to learn. Thank you for sharing. ✌🏾💨
Such a great video, would love to see more of this kind of at home mini documentary with different pipe makers in the near future. Pink Floyd was a perfect combo with it as well. Thank you for the video
Yesterday I watched a documentary about Mimmo, today YT suggested this video. The surprise, you make pipes using briar from him. Enjoyed your video, maybe one day I will enjoy a pipe made by you. And he even recognises his delays in delivering his stuff :)
Beautiful video Lars. I received my first Danish made pipe yesterday and as I was looking at it closely this morning I was looking for a video on a Danish pipe maker, to "immerse" myself in an atmosphere. Kurt Balleby pipes are a discovery for me, very beautiful pieces of art, from what seems to be a very nice Gentleman. I hope you are doing well. Cheers -- Aurélien
That is a great video ! I own 2 pipes from Kurt and to get an insight in life and work of the "man behind the pipe" is great thing. Thanks and best regards from Bangkok !
Superb work Lars! What an excellent story. Mr. Balleby is certainly one of the greats! I've been admiring his pipes all be it only from pics on line for quite a few years now. I've certainly got to get one of his bulldogs one day, this I know, lol. Thank you for posting a fine video. Cheers, James
***** Hello James, Thank you for your kind words - The pipes from Kurt is very nice ant the craftsmanship is top notch - when you get the opportunity you must get a Bulldog from him. Also good to see that you are still around - I guess we both have too much going at the moment to be steady and active pipe community members, but I'm sure we will be back one day... Take care Best Lars
Lars, your videos are real gems as Kurt's pipes are. This is a wonderful portrait of one of the greatest pipemakers - I enjoyed the ten minutes so much. A Balleby pipe is still missing in my small collection. Hopefully I can change this in the future. :) Thank you for this video and best wishes from Germany, Eddy
Fantastic video Lars!! I must admit that I am not really familiar with Kurt Balleby's work which is not surprising here in Australia, but what you have shown here is amazing. I will look for more of Mr Balleby's work on line now. It has been awhile since you have posted a video. I will guess that you are a very busy man but I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. Take care, Glen
I live in uruguay border with Brazil, my name is Renato Bonilla, I learned to make pipes with my father before he passed away, my pipes are made of pitangueira a fruit tree here in my country, I don't use glue, they are made in a handmade way, because I don't have many tools just a hand drill, I would like to send one of my pipes for you to look at and try, I would love to live in Europe where there is a market to sell pipes, can I send you a pipe for you to evaluate my work? thank you very much Renato
Was lustig ist das er von den "great Masters" spricht wenn ich von den "great Masters" spreche und von meiner Inspiration dann spreche ich von Kurt Balleby als großen Meister...☺️
Excellent short documentary. I've just started pipe making and this film is an inspiration.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
This man doesn't make pipes..he makes gorgeous works of art.
