As great as Novak and Nadal are, Roger's game makes you love tennis.
Yep. The finesse does it.
Thank You. They can't do what he can, he's the reason why I fell in love with tennis.
@@shpingalet7895 finesse in the first rounds only where the players ranked 124/87/232 lack power and spin
@@cfhar080591 That's why they also called him a 'Magician' on the court.😍
Lol my name is Roger I got named after him
Nadal is hard work
Novak is elastic
Federer is pure class 💯
That’s the sharpest analysis possible in so little words! 👏🏻
It's unbeliebable, no?
So do he is called the goat of tennis
@@akshayanil2403 Maybe 10 years ago now definetely not the best
@@boriskostic6964 not the best, but still counted in the big 3,so yes GOAT
Fed is a perfect example of a "savant" athlete, just genius in their craft. When you talk about pure tennis skill, touch, improvisation, footwork tennis IQ..like they call him the Maestro for a reason
Tennis IQ? Fed has the least tennis IQ amongst the big 3
TheKaustabh how ?
Jeez how did I know there would be salty Djokovic fans... smh.
@@itsyeboiandrew They are not salty Djokovic fans, they are pieces of sh@t Djokovic fans who infect even the GOAT's tributes. Infecting ATP vids is not enough for them, hence "pieces of sh@t Djokovic fans" or simply "pieces of sh@t" period.
@@TheKakarot_itachi How would you know about tennis IQ or just IQ for that matter, you being a piece of sh@t ?
I'm trying to tell myself I've never seen these points before...
lol
Djokovic has the consistency of a machine, which is why he has posted GOAT stats...but Federer’s finesse and artistry is unmatched by any, which is what makes him the true GOAT in my book...he will leave a bigger hole in professional tennis than anyone else when he retires
He retired
lol, nah. Djoker is a pusher and boring to watch
@@criticsatlarge0073 Djokovic is boring to watch, that’s for sure.
@@ezpzyogiYeah he just out gases his opponent while making no mistakes. Very impressive, and his accolades speak for themselves but not as inspiring to watch
@@criticsatlarge0073he’s a good tennis player. Probably the best of all time in terms of achievements. Prime Federer would eat this man alive though.
Roger is indeed the greatest tennis player of all time! He may not have achieved the highest number of grandslam titles but he had won 100+ career titles with incredible, effortless, artistic, exciting and magical performances in court. He's a dynamic and awesome player, artist and performer rolled into one. And another wonderful thing - he's a gorgeous and well-dressed gentleman. Above all, he's a very kind and generous man who's helping the unfortunate especially the children. Thank God for giving us a great and inspiring man like Roger Federer!
Tennis icon well said !
Roger in his 20s was arguably best player I have ever seen, though even Roger in his late 30s is a nightmare assignment. Sheer variety of shotmaking is what has always blown my mind...much easier to play it safe on baseline like majority of the tour, his achievements/records in that light are striking
I beleieve the 2017 version of Federer is the Ultimate and the Greatest player of all time!
Speed,power,toughness,magic,variety,IQ,completeness..Everything you want in a player..
@@johntsela2525 Yeah, I meant generally, like last several years, but yes 2017 version was absolutely crazy with his backhand/form that season
@@davidmamet7969 nah 2006 federer is the best, peak fitness and quickness
@@dariusbrock2713 And peak forehand. His forehand was like thrice better than in 2017. It was the best weapon in the circuit.
NEED TO LEARN AND EXPLORE SOMETHING NEW video removed :( was it yours?
The last one can not be scientifically explained. It's like whenever he's in trouble he comes up with the most creative brilliant move on the spot. Federer is a natural. No one can beat his charisma.
@M you gave all that info just to call the sport "soccer". it's football.
@M "Soccer" is full of divers and bad refereeing decision. Tennis is a purists sport where you can't cheat the game.
@M 6-1
His opponent literally had enough & needed a drink!
@@DejiTalkerOpponent's name is Andre Agassi
I don't care if Nadal and Djokovic get more grand slam titles, there has never been a better tennis player than Federer. He makes it look beautiful, he's like an artist, some of the shots are just almost impossible to even conceive. Most of the time I'm not too interested in watching tennis, but I could watch Federer play all day, he just has that special something, he is a maestro and in his prime he was just unplayable. Poor Andy Roddick came up against his very own kriptonite (Federer) time and time again and I think that in any other era of tennis he would have won atleast 5-10 additional grand slam titles.
I agree with you 99 or even 100% although I don't feel very comfortable to say it... Anyway, besides what you point out I also highlight the fact that he may be the only player ever who never withdrew from an ongoing match. That also says a lot about him..., a lot!
Federer is my favourite player. His style is unmatched- however, Djokovic is the greatest to ever do it. The stats show that. Nadal fakes injuries and is a clay guy. I never liked Nadal.
Yeah I agree , Roger federer it’s the only tennis player I like the most, and because of him I love very much about tennis
OK, let's examine facts. Federer came to prominence in a vacuum. At the end of the old guard. He won his titles when there was really nobody to beat. Once others started to reach their potential, Federer just couldn't win anymore. There were just better players than him. But don't get me wrong. Nadal and Djokovic fall prey to the same thing. That's why the old guard will always be better. The last true greats ended with Sampras. They may not have the Slam title numbers, but their competition was so incredibly stiff that every victory they had was equal to 30 of what has been won since. Gone are the grind champions. Now is the time of the pretty shots. Federer, in effect, killed tennis. And that is why he is my all-time number one overrated athlete.
Let me put in 4 words everything you said: GOAT
#2 is my absolute favorite. Roddick worked so hard for that point and did everything right, ended with a smash - but there's just no remedy against Federer's magic and insane talent. He's all grace and powerand just has so much fun playing. Biggest icon tennis has ever had for sure.
@M who asked
Literally handed him his racquet after that point. He'd have been frustrated thinking how he could get past the Maestro
Andy Roddick was one of the best player in that time! Unfortunately he played in the same era when Roger Federer was unbeatable!
That's was Andy Roddick same conclusion.....
@user-gu4tv4hp6sif you’re gonna advertise that sport, at least put some respect in its name and call it football.
I still find #2 to be one of THE most astounding points every time I see it, and I've seen it many times. One thing I liked about Roddick was he had a sense of humour, something Agassi certainly didn't in #1, LOL.
I think Novak will end up with the most Slam titles of the 3 greats, but Roger is the one I would want to see and also would show others as THE example of the most special, elegant and entertaining tennis available.
I agree -- and I think Roddick could have returned the shot, but 1) the fact that Federer actually hit that ball, and 2) the shot's wicked slice -- just transfixed Roddick.
@M not in mine 💀
My fave also!!!!
@M Because of this comment I now hate soccer and will dedicate my life to make sure as many people as possible will also hate soccer
#2 was the best ive never seen someone return that slam shot and personally I hate when opponents do it to me in doubles so that was awesome to see
Recently had a chat with Gulbis - he s still looking for that ball
😂😂😂👌
My mind is blown whenever I see this person entering my sight.
Me too. Always blow away.
Federer was the reason I started watching tennis. By far the best player to ever grace the court
"it's impossible!"
No, it's Federer
God wanted to play tennis so Roger was born . Love you Roger♥️
holy smokes, that's a great comment.
he hasn’t blown my mind 10 times, he has blown my mind at least a million times lol.
This is art of tennis at its highest form. For this alone, he is my GOAT.
No
@@goataraz Then in which era Mr Novak and Rafael are playing can you please elaborate
Beating roger once he reaches 33 even tsonga did when he was at prime he was beast
Good thing nobody is gonna to ask about hobbzits and his opinion on a question where Novak is the objectively correct answer :)
Federer plays with such elegance that you fall in love with the game... die hard fan of the GOAT... i wish he continues to play forever 🙏🙏
Dommage il va prendre sa retraite a cause de sa blessure. Je suis tellement accablé. Il n'y aura plus dans cette décennie un égal à lui. Thé goat of all time.
The legendary Roger Federer. The one who has played Sampras and has also played Medvedev. A man who has witnessed a transition.❤❤
Novak and Nadal posess the mindset and ultimate discipline which is what makes them great. But Federer posses something that cannot be taught. It is simply his talent and grace which make him one of the most mesmerising players to ever step on the court. God bless him in retirement.
Why Roger's play is exciting is because he takes risks on a regular basis and gets away with it because he alone has the talent. He plays the unexpected unorthodox shot - shots don't that don't even occur to other players, even the top ones. When he got a short ball, instead of driving it into one of the corners as Nadal or Djokovic would, he plays a very delicate drop shop that floats high in the air before falling just over the opponents side of the net. The flight of the ball was so unexpected Berdych could only stand there and wander what was going on. The between the legs shot, the drive volley, the look away dink, receiving from the service line, regularly using the drop shot - all popularised by Federer and used by young players today. .
Federer attracts more people than any other tennis player in the world
Even though Nadal and Djokovic were like him legends, Federer was a real genius. His way to play tennis was an art. I am not sure we shall see again such an elegant and talented player. I will miss you Roger...
Good bye Roger. Thank you for giving us the good times and the bad times. You are the best I’ve seen and you showed my son and I how tennis should be played, with style and elegance. Through the Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl, Sampras, and Agassi days, I’ve seen it all. You are the GOAT by far
If there’s one thing that makes people respect Federer so much its that he delivers pretty much all the time. When you watch him play, you are confident you’re going to see something special even if he loses. You know its pretty rare he loses without a fight or gets completely outclassed. Only maybe the last few years, his level has dropped a shade and given how much tennis has changed since he first came on the tour and how old he is. Most could forgive him...
now i can understand why i'm not enjoying watching matches these days, because it was really much better before & no one can do what the maestro RF did 🤯
It is only when you watch Federer in these “old” videos that you realize how the entire tennis world today is missing a WHOLE OTHER INVISIBLE dimension of tennis, fixated as it is on the numbers and stats and the GOAT argument. Federer is the dark matter of tennis that is entirely absent from today’s landscape. The sum of today’s tennis’ parts does not make it whole, instead there is a Federer-sized hole!!!!
Great comment 👌
it sucks that in general sports is becoming more and more analytical, when no one wants to apprecaite the major beauty of sports anymore
ofc what i said is highly exaggerated, but it is slightly becoming the trend now and the GOATs of every sport weren't just beloved cuz they were good, but cuz they were innovative
Yea we get it , Federer plays beautiful tennis. I wonder why tennis players pick that as their sport, is it to win titles or to play beautiful tennis? I wonder which one is more important to them.....
@@M.L.officialRoger didn't only played beautifully....he won so many titles (100, 20 GS) playing with elegance, creativity, amazing power and footwork. He was so innovative and amazing to watch every time that made you love tennis and want to go and pick up a racquet and play...He is a TENNIS ICON
I wonder if that's when Agassi said "I'm done".
Immediately seems correct
Apart from magisterial skills, I admire federer's single handed backhand, his ability to still employ serve and volley on occasion and NO GRUNTING 👍
If u r watching this sport for the first time, just watch federers game, you will fall in love with this sport. Pure class, magical.
When you talk about pure tennis skill, touch, improvisation, footwork tennis IQ ...
They call him the Maestro for a reason.
What do you mean 10 times he blew my mind everytime
1. That backhand flick lob is ridiculously insane haha 😂 3. Not just that point but that whole game against zverev saw him play like the God he is.
I wonder how Zverev maintained his composure for the third set. That game and the tiebreak... beyond Godlike.
I can't understand why his left arm isn't just totally mutilated by now. But then, isn't he recovering as we speak?
5:37 That angle actually tells how tough that shot is. Roger is out of position, deep into the court, outside the tramlines, on the run and Roddick is covering the net. Just amazing how he pulled that off.
Poor Roddick …..one of the biggest factors to end his career was Federer
I don’t know 🤔 in the future may Nadal or Novak or any other player can overtake Federer but Fed wil be Fed and will be GOAT and God of tennis 🎾 . Stay home stay safe and keep missing tennis.
If he is the GOAT, he should end with most slams. Simple as that.
@@TheKakarot_itachi nah slam count doesnt really matter
Whats the purpose for rafa, novak or any other player to keep playing when fed remains goat anyways? That makes no sense. If you want to be the goat you have to earn it by achieving records.
@@alexfratelli8936 thats cool and all but go to wiki and see the records he holds because its not just about titles
TheKaustabh hahahahaha say that to Andy Rodick.
Intelligence over power.
I love andy's reaction. Respects the amazing shot and cant do anything but smile
This is why Roger is the best..
Especially at young age!!

4:14 best hair-piece yet
the old shave top mullet.
I am not a tennis enthusiast, but grew up learning about Federer and his game. His personality as a sportsman is probably the best I've seen across various sports.
The title is the epitome of Fed's career, absolute pleasure to have watched him live twice but in general, love how he can pull off just about any shot in the book
No.5 and no.3 watch them how many times u want... every time it hits extraordinary .... "insanely good" as the commentator says

The head fake against gulbis is one of my many favourite points from roger. Genius!
Roger Federer is tennis smooth stylish just like a poetry ❤

No2 was my fav. Fed is the only player that coulda won that point

Many players would've have given up on that point.
Nadal done it in 2013 US open tho, Federer done similar ones another few times too

Each point here - magnificent. But the last one, against Agassi - out of the world! 🙏🏽
The amazing way Federer can conjure up accurate force with almost no effort. I don't imagine anyone doing that again for a long time to come... I feel lucky to be around when the greatest tennis players of all time have been playing.
Thank you Roger for the past 20 years. Just amazing!
He is the best player to ever hold a racket. I have never ever seen a tennis player this good. His the GOAT of tennis. Especially in his prime, he would beat anyone
As someone who just started following pro tennis, I miss not having watched peak Fed play. Videos like this really helps me understand just how amazing this man is and what he's done for the sport. Thank you.

Iam proud to be a fan of Roger. He plays incredible shots in all the matches, which can’t be found in any Tennis books or guides or manual.
His presence of mind is unexplainable and the amazing thing I noticed ,the ball listens to his racquet, which he manipulates instantly ,WOW.
He is Great, used to watch tennis from Bjorn Borg period, but it will take many years to come,to play his shots by somebody.Long live Roger
Nole and Rafa will have more slams... but this guy technique is unmatchable. The way he hits the backhand... so beautiful.
The top three never cease to amaze me. The precision to hit those intentionally is insane
Did anyone ever ask Andre Agassi what were his feelings as he watched that ball bounce in? He looks dejected 😔 😂😂😂😂
L.O.T The Lord Of Tennis
Roger FEDERER
That fake out shot in the Gulbis match always makes these highlights. And I love it every time.
The backhand half volley winner from the baseline against Blake was totally sick. Down the line, tremendous pace. No chance. Unreal.
Federer was just a beautiful artist of a player. Unmatched in finesse and skill. People can rant on about Djokovic's stats and titles but just looking at how Federer plays and all the shots he could make shows he is the most gifted player to ever set foot on a tennis court. Plus he's a super nice person and one of the finest examples to young players that there has ever been.
5:26 my favorite tennis shot👍👍 love the interaction between the two after the point.👏
The smash from Andy was so high, I applaud Roger even for trying to return that.
You just can't love tennis without loving The Big Three...
All of them are amazing.
No one like federer .
Federer is the Michael Jordan of Tennis!!! Pure genius and a pleasure to watch!
Federer is the Federer of Tennis :)
well you could make a top 100 list. Federer is just something else
Let it be known that Roger Federer was the reason why they slowed courts down because he was soooo good and dominating everyone that they feared he would ruin the game being so good.
Actually, Federer's play had little or nothing to do with the decision to slow the Wimbledon courts--almost all the pros at the time were in agreement that the courts were too fast for competitive, entertaining tennis.
Agassi always looks so mad smile dude
Ive watched tennis a long time and ive never seen a better player than federer and i dont think i will again.
Excellent video. Please keep uploading videos like this to UA-cam. There is no doubt that Roger Federer is the best professional tennis player in history and also the most complete. He is also a great person. Greetings from Chile! :) 🇨🇱
Even by Federer's standards, the level he produced against Zverev in Shanghai last year at the end of the second set is absolutely unbelievable! I'm not sure even Federer was aware of that gear in his game!
Without doubt, RF is the most talented player ever in history of tennis. Variety of shots he has is far more than combined of Nadal or Novak. He is the most beautiful player ever to play tennis. His volley , stop volley, backend, forehand shots are so please to watch. To play for 20 over yrs with high acccruacy is simply amazing. And above all, he is very humble, always easy going with his fans and reporters. I have hardly read ppl say bad things abt him. Its astonoshing to know that he has never retired half way in 1200 matches he has played. 👌🏻
He never looked young and of course he never looks old . 20 years! The absolute king 👑
I love how djokovic applauded federer for the genius he is at 0:31 🔥

It's just a pure Bliss to watch you play Mr.Federer.....Miss u tons Roger 😢 ❤❤
I am not sure whether Roger ever surprised himself. But in the last clip, I think he did surprised himself😉 but I am not sure whether Agassi was surprised.
I feel so sad for Roddick.
It is hard to play in Federer era

The most impressive thing here is that he's been top level for the last 2 decades. Federer IS tennis, doesn't just play at it.
