I agree with everything mentioned here however I have to mention a point that may have gotten overlooked. Many parents (or sons and daughters) agree with the marriage without batting an eyelid because they want their child to go to a foreign country (possibly out of greed). That's very unhealthy and blind. May Allah protect our brothers and sisters when tying the knot. Ameen.

      2) I have my own apartmentment in my home country. If the situation is too bad I always can go back
      3) I have known my fiance for a long time.. And as I see he is not hiding things. I know his schedule, his life style even though we are living in different countries right now. He is not shady.

Btw I dont recommend to get pregnant very quickly to all girls, doesnt matter if they live in their home countries or they move somewhere. Because it is the most vulnerable situation in every woman's life. It is better to live being married for 1-2 years at least and then plan a child, not earlier (but it is just my personal opinion)

My Father was not pleased of course as he was stereotyping him and thought he would take more wives. But he met him and his family and all my Family eventually welcomed him and his accepted me. This was unusual in the early 2000s. Now 21 years later we are still strong Mash a Allah. I became a practicing Muslim went to Hajj etc. Allah sent me to this Muslim Country and I could not be happier. Alhumdullilah it was in my favour. In the UK it is mostly men who go to a Muslim country to pick up and bring back here, although some women desperate for marriage do this also, the number is small, the women who come here from abroad for marriage generally are not respected because it is commonly understood that they have come here because they think the west is the road to el dorado, and these women are referred to as 'take aways'
a man marries and those around him ask, is she a 'takeaway' very degrading but, if your going to degrade yourself by leaving a muslm country to marry a random guy on holiday in yours, then what do you expect,
Men 'believe' women from Muslim countries are more likely to be happy with less, not question them, will be more inclined to accept them if their unattractive, poor, still live at home etc etc etc, because their just happy that they will get out of their country, whereas they don't want to bother with a woman who will refuse to live with his mommy and daddy, a woman who enforces her islamic rights, or leaves if she doesn't get them.
The tables are turning slightly, from what I have seen and heard, these women that are brought from back home, have cottoned onto the above and have retaliated, now chances are, if you can get a women here, there is a high possibility YOU the man will get screwed over, they will show your their whites and flutter their eyelashes and then...... they'll be gone, or they'll be demanding money for their family, I have seen it, but I do not feel sorry for either.
I think that both these men and women deserve each other, the man is trying to take advantage of the woman and so the woman is trying to take advantage of him, its like a competition now on who will do the other dirty, what kind of woman or man leaves a Muslim country to go to a kafir country? for marriage? like you couldn't get married back home , like no one in the whole country?
no respect for these people and I am glad at least in the UK it is now really hard to bring someone here.
I heard a long time ago, a pakistani man went to morocco and met a beautiful moroccan girl, he married her and brought her back here, he said she changed and became evil,
I'm like, she always was, no self respecting Muslim woman marries a randomer on holiday and now self respecting muslim man marries this way either, were you expecting her to be a stay at home mom? idiot

@Stranger Random stranger asalaamu Alaikom, yes, of course there are SO many issues to discuss, I understand that. This issue (in my opinion) has such a knock on effect for the Ummah... After all, creating families is the most important root out of which a healthy spiritual life can grow. A strong Ummah is only as strong as individual families are strong. Healthy marriage is VITAL. So... to get back to what brother Gabriel was talking about... It's crucial that brothers and sisters enter marriage in the most serious, sincere, respectful and honest way possible. This is a thing one sees time and time again happening in the UK. Some Indopak men find women from their native countries to marry and bring them over- the idea is that such women will be easier to control amongst other warped notions. I see it so much, the man divorces his British wife and thus goes "back home" to pick a wife like a cherry.
The girl's family are just overly eager to send their daughter to this rich country (possibly paving the way for the others to come over too). Sometimes they don't care whether he is 50 years old with 5 kids... anything goes. He may have been an abuser but even then he finds it easy to find a wife there due to his British passport.
When such a marriage starts to go haywire, the sister is stuck- she can't speak the language and she is literally trapped. The worst is if she is divorced and there is no one of her family her. It's terrible- they end up living in bad conditions.
I would always advise brothers and sisters from the west to always marry within your country folk- the fitn are rising here and you need a spouse that knows the society inside out- the children are desperately in need of parents that can help them navigate through these societal turmoils they are currently facing. How will a villager in Bangladesh, for example, appreciate the challenges of our youth over here?
Think about the future of the ummah please.

I think that one more issue is that in inter-cultural marriages, there's often not much in common. They speak different languages, have different interests and tastes. You get married out of physical attraction or a feeling of novelty, and within a few months, you get bored of it. If you're unable to find much in common and adapt to each other, it can become a big problem.

I've realised that there are two main problems. Sometimes, we only think about the first part of the hadith of our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about not turning down someone whose 'religion' you are pleased with but we forget the part of 'character' (“If someone proposes marriage to you whose religion and character satisfies you, then you should accept it. If you do not do so, there will be trials on the earth and the spread of corruption”). That's maybe why we think that if the guy is a student of knowledge or a student of such and such sheikh then all will be well. It's like we assume that someone who has religion will automatically have good character even though our prophet mentioned them separately. Secondly, the friends of the guy need to be really honest when a girl's wali asks about him. The friends are the ones who spend time with him and they shouldn't hide even little doubts that they may have as those doubts could be signs of a bigger underlying problem with the guy's character. I think that one of the things that friends should consider is if they would be happy for this guy to marry their sister. If they wouldn't then they shouldn't reassure the wali that the guy would be good for his daughter.

Jazak Allah Khair gor your guidance. Your exactly right and I know a story that the brother looked exceptional. Highly educated, had deed, and supposedly never married. This brother had many secrets including a non curable disease, previous marriage, and he did not have his papers as well. I think having this knowledge, asking the right questions, and even having a background check is necessary. We are not living in a world of 50 years. Hidden zalems. This applies to both genders since I saw how a poor brother married a sister who abused him which he lost everything including his health. You need to be your advocate and attorney.

As a guy marrying from back home just makes it seem like you settled in my opinion tbh lol. Usually the guys who do it got tired of constantly being rejected by girls in America so they catch a flight and find a wife back home in one summer, knowing it won’t be that hard as most women “back home” find a foreign passport very appealing regardless of what you look like or how much money u make. It’s like taking the easy way out and you gave up basically.

Here is a thought. What is the point of a sharia that intervenes in the most just and fair way that doesn't have any power to enforce anything. You have spoken about punishment and mahkama briefly but I think that is the main point. There has to be punishment and there has to be mahkama and jurists must have the power to enforce these. Otherwise why would anyone do anything they say when they are not even afraid of God or has justified for themselves whatever they are doing

bruh MOST FAMILIES are not ok with their daughters marrying overseas unless the guy is a relative or something, so if she’s going overseas to marry, I’d put the most blame on her, and then the family if they had control over the situation. The example the brother gave in the video is of a woman marrying a student of knowledge. How was she supposed to know she was “picking a gangster”? If a guy is presenting himself as religious a woman will be more trusting of him. The guy was a fraud and worse that he was studying religion yet had a demonic side which he expressed after marriage. No woman could predict that.

@Stranger Random stranger Agree, but if he’s supposed to be a student of knowledge he may not be agreeable to spending time getting to know the woman. It depends on his religious view on the matter.
