I find it heartbreaking that when Pete said he lost the Stark internship, he hesitated. He didn't want to say that. In my opinion, he cried because he couldn't be Spider-Man anymore. You can tell he loves being the hero, saving people and fighting crime. That's what he loved doing.

But also because he might have higher expectations for someone who already wants to be a hero. He says he's ready but when push comes to shove he's not. Far from home illustrates that. His teary eyes make me ake. There are a lot of other sad scenes. He didn't really lie that much. He left out the life and death situation. Tom Holland is seriously good at showing that emotion. And in infinity war it comes true 😭. That's what makes me so sad. After endgame this hurts.
When Peter's telling May that he lost the Stark internship... just the tears in his eyes and the way his voice just sounds so broken... every time I see that I just want to give him a hug.

Can we just appreciate how amazing this Aunt May is as a parental figure?? She is scared shirtless waiting for Peter to come home, highest stress levels I have seen from her the whole movie..and she doesn't take it out on him. No yelling or pushing around or threatening. Just no physical or verbal assault to be seen. She is honest with him, expressing her concern and how she was feeling and tells him what she wants directly instead of guilt tripping him. And she also encourages Peter to be honest in return. Not in a "WHY DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO ME" way, but a "This is a safe space, I would never judge you" way. AND IT WORKS. He's honest with her, even if it's not completely because of obvious reasons. And I like how she doesn't try to lecture him or fix the problem because she knows that's his job, she just comforts him silently because she knows that he was really brave for telling her that and just needed to be comforted after admitting his mistakes. For someone who wasn't quite ready to become a parent (the tie scene when she's learning with him), she is doing so well and I love her so much 🥺
