Chord progression is not a protected art. Or else every modern song would be in court. Lyrically speaking, no where close. Even tempo in this version is no where close. I think you can put the straw down

No you'd be wrong to think that : he often does that specific pattern on guitar (which indeed resembles _Long Train_ or _Listen To the Music_ )
Go check the studio version and you'll see that the song itself has nothing to do with the Doobie Brothers.
If Mraz covers something like Billie Jean or just any dance smash hit, he'll probably do that pattern again, trust me.
