His steel sound was inimitable. Completely unique. I was hooked from the first time I heard Pickin Up The Pieces.. and every record since. Farewell friend, on that long road to Heaven may you ride..
Been a Poconut since 1972. My first concert ever was Poco and Frampton's Camel at Buffalo State College in '73. My Florida license plate is POCONUT. Had it put on a t-shirt and was lucky enough to get the whole band to autograph it. Love you so much, Rusty!
The biggest event(s) in my younger life were the latest poco albums. THANK YOU for all the joy you created Rusty. So do this -- Listen to Crazy eyes and the part where Rusty takes off with the orchestra and tell me that isn't musical nirvana.
I just recently saw where they mention that Pedal Steel Guitar is one of the most difficult guitars or instrument to learn to play. Rusty made it look easy. But looks can be deceiving. Sneaky Peter Kleinow was a good one two. Ironic that both PSG were both in groups that lead the charge in the Country Rock genre. Both are now playing for a new audience.
Good to see a Master Pedal Steel player in his studio playing an instrument with precision.

I only wish Rusty had done more solo steel songs. Love Poco and Rusty's steel guitar!! RIP RUSTY!!
Lost one of the good ones today . RIP Rusty

Great stuff Rusty. Thanks for all the years of great music.
so sad one of my all time favorites
Met Rusty before a show in Jacksonville. Unplanned, in a bar. Greatest moment of my life. What an awesome gentleman
Rusty was a great steel guitar.
🙏
Very cool look at the craft of the pedal steel and studio craft and craftiness in general.
Always a favorite. Consummate professional and all around good guy! The Best.
Glad to find this Channel Rusty. Hope you can bring Poco to Toronto.
So nice having an technician so you can concentrate on the music

Who else can play like this -and- make a pedal steel sound like Albert King? Rusty's the man.
nice video!! i love poco!!!
I heard uncle George in there... "we don't pay you for mistakes!"
fantastic!
Crazy eyes forever
RIP
Pete had the chops for it,but i never heard him actually do it.
How many times has this man won "Playboys" pedal steel player of the year? Just a guess, but probably as many times as Paul has won "bass"- - huh?
Not sure it matters how many times he's won anything...the proof is in the playing, not some cheese trophy
Maybe "Sneaky Pete", but that was before even my time- - -Ha!
rusty ain't rusty.
Is there a lot of string noise from that bar or is it just me?
The power of editing it out in the final mix....
There’s always some string noise it just can’t be heard when you hear the sound amplified.
