I met Doug at Scotty's International Steel Guitar Convention in the mid 70's. He is a very nice person and an enormous talent.

Doug is renowned in the steel community the world over. An absolutely amazing player, both for tone and speed. It's difficult to convey how good he actually is. Best regards - Ben Price - San Antonio Steel Guitar Association

A little late on the comment but I've always categorized him right up there with Paul Franklin and Tommy White I've always said the three monster players are Doug jernigan Tommy White and Paul Franklin but now we have even more you've got Travis toy and has come right up man and just smoking like I smoking freight train that guy is faster than greased lightning. please no one get angry at me for not mentioning Buddy emmons but he comes without even saying.

Awesome pickers he just played on one of my picken buddy's cd Darowyn Lee and sounded great. Doug if you see Terry Weeks say hello for me. If had known you were living just down the street from me when i was with the Sego Brothers and Naomi in White House, Tenn. I would have been camping camping out on your door step. Your awesome and God Bless.
