I’ve been following Ghost since I heard about them in the Meliora era when I was a freshman in High School. I looked into Opus and Infestissumam and liked what I heard there; I also said I love the progression both musically and production. Then Prequelle released and while at first I had mixed feelings because of the differences with the new era (ex.: no papa but Cardinal Copia) but eventually the standout elements to Prequelle grew onto me and I love that album and era but was excited for this album’s release once Hunter’s Moon released. Now seeing the direction the band is going with this new Impera era has combined the appreciation I have for both Meliora and Prequelle. This is my favorite album from the band (and of 2022 so far) and Kaiserion is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs, the blend of originality and familiarity both from other musical elements and from the band themselves is beautiful. I know I am praising this band a lot and while I can’t say they are perfect, they are truly fun and worth the fandom. At this point the only complaint I have is that this band isn’t touring in more states and cities in the U.S. I want to immerse myself in the Ghost experience and wish they would perform somewhere more convenient for me to travel to. I’m aware that not everyone is going to see eye-to-eye with me, but I want to share my appreciation for Ghost and the clergy as a whole.
Right there with ya man!!! although...I love every track on IMPERA my go to..roll down the windows..so everyone can hear it track is Watcher in the sky!!
Yeah, the American tour is a bummer, they didn't even come to any stop in New York to my knowledge. I've wondered how they figure out where they're going to go based on their stage show, we have a perfect venue for them here in western NY (same size as the above arena) but I have no idea what sales would be like. Also still trying to figure out their demographic (I'm middle age, 80's kid). They had some national exposure on Jimmy Kimmel (mentioning that monumental POS only to promote Ghost, hate the guy) but I don't see any promotions outside of that in the US. P.S. Loved you in Game of Thrones. ;p
Very well said and I couldn’t agree more. This album is killer. Thanks for sharing this video. I love to watch the beginning over and over to bring back the memories and the feelings of the start of the show. Not only is their music amazing so is the show that they put on. @@matthewjames6414 I read a couple of interviews where Tobias was talking all about how this song is a sort of reminder of what the early Christians did to Hypatia of Alexandria, and what the Church has been doing to intelligent, independent women since then. Man this band somehow gives off a 80s vibe without being total cringe. Agreed they keep getting better this album has already helped so much with life.
in a span of 5 albums and a a bit over 10 years (and probably honestly 4 albums and 8-9 years) this band has gone from playing in bars and small venues to headlining arenas - and for a good reason, absolutely impressive
Tobias has once again taken it to a whole new level. This band just continues to evolve in the most incredible ways. Musically, theatrically, artistically, and conceptually. A truly stunning group.
Ghost is maturing and becoming more prog metal! Maiden used to be a punk but they evolved. Without evolution I get bored and Tobias is constantly going into new territory! Keep it up and my 55 year old self will be a fan for many years to come!
Maiden was punk? Are you talking about Iron Maiden? Even their earliest album with Paul at the helm of lead vocals isn't punk. The musical elements alone should signify their difference from the punk scene of that Era. Their lyrics only solidify that argument. I'm not trying to be a dick but you have to realize that the punk and eventually the grunge movement were the very epitome of what Iron Maiden fought against, and not because they hated punk music but for the preservation and continued success of their band. I can see how one might confuse their earliest music for something that might have a fleeting resemblance to thrash or punk but they are not one in the same.
I mean, it might have been better if that mob hadn't murdered her for being a non-Christian and a woman mathematician and philosopher, but yeah, she'd probably think it was cool to know that we remember and respect her.
They were on the right track with the previous sleek costumes coats with tails and spats. Now they are back with bulkiness. I wish that at the end of the concert they take off their disguises.
Glad I'm not the only one who gets a Maiden vibe from this one! It's almost like if Iron Maiden, Rush, and Satan had a child who started a kick-ass band...
