Watching these videos from the Driver's point of view has taught me a lot about rail gradients. They're almost impossible to see from a passenger's point of view, but seeing lines like the City Loop where ascents and descents are more obvious brings a new perspective to it all.

What gradient? If you want to see true gradients then you need to look at the Sydney trains underground or the Sydney Metro. Now those are gradients.

Metro X'Trapolis Trains to Blackburn is only on Weekdays, Monday to Friday.
The traction equipment sounds almost identical to the 1996 Tube Stock on London Underground’s Jubilee Line.
I've never travelled in England, yet. One day I'll check that out 👍😊

Tell me something pls? Why is the clock on that big mirror for the driver changed from 24 hour to 12 hour clock? Was that confusing a lot of them there? Were they not able to read the 24 hours time those young ones? Ahhh dear me! ☺🤭

I watched and collect a lot of aussie made tv shows as I think they are great not only to watch but are also a good time capsule but I can't say the Sullivans was one of them I watched. 🤔👍

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought stopping all stations Blackburn trains didn't run via the Loop and went through the Burnley Local track directly out to Richmond from Flinders St. I learned about that from Taitset's video about Richmond junction so am a bit confused here.
@@therealsammyvee888 Taitset also showed you the crossovers at East Richmond, which allows Burnley Through Trains to crossover to the local tracks. Between 3 and 4pm, Blackburn and Alamein services run via the City Loop and Burnley Through, changing to the Burnley Local to use East Richmond.
@@enochliu8316 Yeah I do remember him talking about the crossovers and how trains can switch. I knew Glen Waverley trains ran through the loop in the afternoon, but didn't know Blackburn trains did as well between those times. Thanks.

That would be the rail grinding machine. Grinds the head of the rail to a desired shape. 👍🙂
Like your videos a question regarding the camera could it placed behind and be able to see what happens as your driving and the gauges reacting as you brake/speed up, is this against company rule

Hey there, your video is fantastic, I have just wondered when I stand on front cab of the train, I heard the chime sound that is familiar to the ETCS-ish sound when the driver set up the train , is there anything that is related to the train protection system or is it just the same sound as the ETCS ?
The only chime sound I hear is the doors closing chimes. There is no ETCS on these trains. Very happy to hear you enjoy the videos 👍😀

@@xuantuanminhnguyen7093 no. The HCMT is the only one. All the other trains require a driver to control them totally. 👍🙂
I know that it is rare, and it is usually a signallers error with VLine trains occasionally being sent through MURL. How are you as a VLine driver trained for this occurrence? I wouldn’t expect that you’d have active route knowledge of these tunnels.
You are right, as much as I remember everything about running through the underground, I officially am out of qualifications in the underground. 👍😊

Funny what difference a POV can make. Totally familiar, yet simultaneousy unfamiliiar.
Oh, absolutely! I have loved having Driver667 taking me along achingly familiar paths to and from places I have lived in (Kerang 17 years, Bendigo 3, Camberwell 13). I was intrigued to see that he drives suburban electric trains as well as country diesels. He might enjoy also the wonderful 220+ km/hr electric trains where I now live in Austria.
220kph is a little faster than our 160kph. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😀
