In that racket, they're all equally dangerous.
Some are just a little more psychotic than others. It's obvious, Roy was talking to the voices in his head.

Listening to Sammy the bull talk about DeMeo really shines light on just how gone this dude really was. He was killing for fun outside of the business and that also made him extremely dangerous.
He was envisioning killing an entire room of senior citizens!
@@natedolo6789 Yeah man! Just shows how gone he really was mentally.
@Johnny Caruthers He's not wrong. Roy was a stone cold killer. He used to have his crew go out and kill random people, mostly puerto ricans, just to keep them "sharp" for when a real contract came in. He once said "his coffee boy has 6 bodies." Roy enjoyed killing, he was a different breed.
@@wtyeager Nope he was an idiot
@Johnny Caruthers It came from mafia rat Sammy the bull gravano
So creepy how these freaks could kill so ruthlessly and then go home and have dinner with their family like it was nothing.
This is why there are people out there who "respect" these people. They somehow don't realize that the families of these people were used as a cover to hide their sick ways.
@@luvbig41 it’s really scary that these psychopaths are able to have seemingly good family lives with a wife and children. Even though they are basically incapable of feeling any true emotions besides anger, rage and hate, many of them are able to fake their emotions and they can be really charming as well. They are so good at deceiving people and luring them into a false sense of safety and that is what makes them so dangerous IMO.
To them, it was a job.

These guys only pick on those who fear them. It's why mobs don't mess with street gangs. Street gangs have no code, no loyalty. Just look at the crips and bloods.
@@DroneStrike1776 you honestly believe that? Not about the street gangs because I know all too well there's no honor anymore. But as far as the demeos and other like individuals only picking on guys who fear them i couldnt disagree more.
"Nah. Nothing in the trunk. Tow it away."
Technicians discovered a chandelier and a man's dead body in the trunk.
To be fair, unless they heard screaming from the trunk they still would've towed it before opening. Gotta make sure that they actually can open the trunk first or else everything they find is useless in court.
Bet that cop got made fun of for years though.
lol
Not just a body but a fucking chandelier too
“I didn’t see nothin”
The cop was probably thinking that anything inside the trunk would be heard or felt when he was jumping up and down on the vehicle like it was a kids bounce house but the body and all the contents in the trunk were probably frozen to the car because of the frigid temperatures not allowing it to bounce around while the cop did a ballet routine across the top of the vehicle.
When they talk about scumbags it’s always with nice words, like they are heroic
I came here from Sammy Gravano’s channel. His stories about Roy DeMeo made it pretty clear that even a hardened mob killer like Sammy the Bull found DeMeo unsettling. I won’t go as far as saying he was scared of the guy, but he made sure never to drop his guard around Roy, and seemed to prefer to avoid the psycho.
Sammy literally killed his own friends so he could take over their businesses. He’s got some good insight, but don’t fall for the good hearted gangster shtick
Gotti and his crew were terrified of DeMeo. They refused Castellano's order to kill DeMeo because of it.
@@Jannakennels he didn’t say Sammy was good hearted, he said Sammy found Roy unsettling. Which I believe.
Which friends are you refering to? Louie Millito was killed because he was playing both sides of the fence during the castellano hit, Sammy did not want to kill him but planned the hit on the orders of Frankie Decicco and Gotti. Nicky Cowboy was killed because he was an uncontrollable drug addict with a lot of debts. He didn’t like Paul when the plan to kill him was made, none of them did. They wanted to control the family and also save Gotti and Ruggieros lives who would most likely be killed if Paul got a hold of ruggieros tapes.
You can say he’s lying if you’d like, you have 0 evidence that he is but why let that get in the way if you’ve already decided
Had Roy been around, Gotti would've been shelved and the others killed about that drug beef
@Habibi Arab Cat iceman was lying about all the people he killed.
Doesn't matter how crazy you are, someone will and can always put an end to you.

@Habibi Arab Cat Richard had nothing to do with the Gambino family what so ever. He was a pathological delusional liar. He fabricated alot of what he told ppl and it's been proven he didn't know or have any dealings with DeMeo other than buying a gun off him at 1 point. Demeo was taken out by his own crew testa, gaggi etc.
@Habibi Arab Cat he was a killer no doubt about it but that's how Cosa nostra works. Italian mob especially any of the 5 families in n.y don't get outsiders to do any hits for them. They have their own ppl for that and that's a fact.

Just finished "Murder Machine". If DeMeo wasn't bad enough, he also somehow managed to find an entire crew of potential serial killers and groom them to his likeness. His behaviour (not just the murders, but the other horrific "businesses" he was engaged in) sickened other mobsters. But, being the morally vacant people they are, they changed the rule of "you can't do that" to "you can't tell me you're doing that", as long as he kept making money for them. Doesn't speak well for the mob that his underlings (the one's that lived anyway) were given spots in other crime families after Roy was disposed of.

Anytime your savagery makes Sammy the Bull uncomfortable you're on a whole other level. Big Paulie was losing control of Roy so he had to go but ironically killing Roy took away the fear of Paulie and made it comfortable for Gotti to kill Paul without fear of retaliation. Gotti would never have killed Paul if Roy was still alive.
It was inevitable that Gotti would take Big Paul out regardless of what took place with Roy. Gotti was never for Big Paul and Paul hated Gotti. One was going to whack the other. Gotti being street smart and ambitious managed to gain Sammy’s allegiance which spelled Big Paul’s doom. Ironically, Gotti did more damage to organized crime with his flamboyant behavior than all other rat mobsters combined.
@@prevost8686 exactly! Gotti wanted the power but had no idea how to use it to advance the mobs control influence or profitability once he got it. Paul was greedy but he ran the mob like a fortune 500 company much to the dismay of alot of members obviously most notably Gotti
You completely wrong. It was Neil Dellacroce who kept Costellano alive, not Roy Demeo.
@@wadewilson8011 yea after Roy was killed if Roy was still alive after Neil died Gotti would've tried to recruit Roy to his side but if he didn't switch against Paul Gotti wouldn't have risked it or probably attempted a hit on RoY first before going after Paul

This crew had access to a very large garbage dump located right off the belt parkway just a couple of miles from Carnarsie Brooklyn and the Gemini lounge. I grew up just a mile or 2 from that same dump but on the east side of it and during the summers the smell from that place was horrendous , definitely could smell rotting flesh . That dump is no longer and NYC has turned it into a park .
Shipped it all off to Fresh Kills and called it a day.
It was the fountain ave dump in Brooklyn not S.I.
💯
Remember that dumps smell well. The Gemini lounge was about four blocks from my house.
If this world is still standings five thousand years from now some archaeologists will unearth remains from that dump and surmise that it was a religious center where human sacrifices were made to the Grasshopper god…
I absolutely love documentaries on mob family. Thank you for doing this.
another correction for you. He did take a cut from everyone BUT he did not spend one dime on lawyers or helping the families of members in prison. He kept it all.
I was born and raised in Canarsie Brooklyn. The Testas lived up the block from me on 87th street. There was Anthony, Joey, Frank, Patty and Dennis Testa. My cousins husband was related to them. Anthony Senter had an apartment on 87th also. I am still friends with Anthony Senters sister Maryjane and some of the Testa family. Patty Testa got killed back in 1992 at his shop on Foster Avenue around the block from me, by Anthony Gaspipes people. Anthony Senters uncle Robert owned the Canarsie recycling company. He had trucks pick up the dumpsters and they ended up at the dump on the Belt Pkwy. There were other guys we knew like the Vario crew, Nicky and Jo Jo Corozzo, Vic Amuso, Tommy Red, Mike Yanotti, Vinny Dimino among others. Miss the good old Canarsie days!
But on the other hand...
I guess we all learned that bouncing up and down on a bumper is no way of determining if there is a body in the trunk.

Kuklinski has ZERO to do with the mob, he had 1 short interaction with demeo and that was it, kuklinski was a psycopath serial killer, he wasnt a hit man for the mob and he didnt know roy demeo, imagine a psycopath lying about being part of the mob?? 🤯🤯
You have to apply Psychology in order to begin to understand the theory of why or how these men participated in this type of behaviours..there is no correct way in which to condemn their actions..complex childhood, life traumas an many means of poor choices, bad decisions an wrongful socialisation of a person can all be strong factors as to why a person is drawn to or lead into a pathway of such barbarism..or the ability to act so heinously. These factors, are what outlines the differences between people who can engage in committing horrific acts of violence an those that cant. Understanding the Psychology of human behaviours is the start of understanding. It's the only way. The studies on personality disorders explains many levels of human depravity.
I believe, through much reading of research, that we are all born with a blank slate..it is only what others, I.e.our care givers, from when we are born an there after, write upon our slates that decifers how we treat others also the paths we endeavour to go down in our lives..
It's in no way making excuses for a violent man..just a logical idea in how to understand how an why these men in particular are able to do what they do..
Yah that was funny as hell lol

Ray Liotta’s portrayal of Roy DeMeo was spot on intimidating.
What movie?
@@acabzebo The Iceman. Came out about ten years ago.
I’ve wanted to find this ever since Richard talked about him! Who’s here from the Iceman too!?
Kuklinski gets the job done
its been proven that Richard lied about everything he did for the mob. he was never connected to the mob
Iceman was full off shit all lies
The Iceman is a proven fraud and never worked for DeMeo. I hate that guy so much. A guy who tortures animals, feels no remorse about it, and lies to the public and people 'like him'.
@@thedarknessunderneathpodca6366 I was more so interested in his story more than him as a person. I don’t agree with anything he did (or didn’t do apparently) I’ve just always found these guys interesting and what leads up to someone doing these things. Hope that makes a little sense 😅 thanks for letting me know though, I had no idea he had been lying!
I'm 60 grew up in CANARSIE on flatlands Ave by the gemini.roy was one scary fuck, but Joey testa and Anthony senter and also patty testa on a personal level were cool guys to hang with and weren't bullies to us younger kids but always looked out for us.everyone in CANARSIE loved the whole testa family.
I absolutely love this narrator's vocal inflection.
Amazing documentary and narration
I am waiting for both of those books from Amazon, so Thank you for some insight. You made 1 mistake at the begining. Paul Costalanno wasnt Carlo Gambinos under boss, that was Neal Dellacroce, Paul was a captain. Great video Thank you!!
Paul Castalanno was the son in law of Carlo Gambino and his consigliere. So yes he had a crew and was a captain but also a little more.
@@muttleyjones2 No they were cousins
@@danewing4658 Oh yes I see you are right. I don't know where I got the son-in-law bit from. Thanks.
@@danewing4658 I knew there was something else, they were brothers-in-law. Carlo married Paul's sister.
@@muttleyjones2 no he was his cousin/ brother in law he married Carlo's sister which they were first cousins
It's astounding how the vast majority of these absolutely murderous psychopaths actually grew up with a father in the home.
Many times these psychos have their twisted mama on their side supporting like Escobar.
The fathers were pos 9 times outa 10.

Oh-h-h yeah, agreed.
funny that almost all of these so called "tough" guys broke all the rules of what makes a man when they got popped by the cops.
yup.. same here
It's very hard to believe that a sick serial killer who chopped up bodies felt any remorse for killing an innocent man, i think that's the son trying to find some good in the father, when they clearly wasn't any.
You know Roy Demeo was a real sadistic killer if he had other mob killers cautious of being around him.
My grandfather did some “ side work “ for some of these people in the Detroit area my mom is in her late 70’s now and still won’t talk a lot about some of the things she knew my grandfather did. He was the best safecracker in the Eastern United States at the time and the one story that bothers me that she did tell me was about a African American club owner who was partners with an Italian guy. My parents had their wedding reception at his club. They found him in his trunk, without his head and they never did find his head. They all called him “ Usher “ and this was in the early 70’s I believe. My mom and dad really liked him and my mom said they went to his club a lot. There is quite a trail of people who were “ whacked “ in the Detroit area.
I like how you write African-American but not Italian-American. That's how stupid the whole African-American PC word is. They're black
@@jaed2630 . While I agree that calling them “ African American “ is stupid I would also like to comment that they themselves called it an “ African American “ lounge or club at that time and they were very proud to have a club that they could call their own. This was before my time and after the violent riots in that area that was also before my time. I honestly couldn’t care less what people call themselves. The fact that you commented on my post that was made over a year ago clearly shows that you do care. 😂
The american government should be facing R.I.C.O charges.
The crew had nothing to do with the body found in a hotel room in Florida. In fact, that event happened before Roy introduced his crew to the Gemini method. Nino and Roy were involved in the incident in Florida.
30:11 Sometime in the mid-1990's, a man called David Chase happens upon this photograph and thinks "That gives me an idea for a new show..."
Tommy is the real....a Non rat just took his time like a trooper still to this day. Aint taking to anyone about anything for books or money. I real stand up guy. Even though i have to admit. I wish he would tell his story. He is part of the history. He can set the record streight and be in the history books. But i respect his decisions. Bless Tommy and all who are here and all who are gone.
Tommy who ?
@@studjo19 now that’s a psychopath.
Tommy was a legit serial killer who kept tokens of his victims like Charlie Carneglia.
Lots of guys from all families were nervous around Roy's crew.
Roy was nervous around Roy's crew
Then they killed him
@@MikeyFazzo you got that right!!
Imagine if Castellano hired DeMeo’s crew as his bodyguards. Nobody, not even Gotti, would touch Castellano.
