    I have my display open and was literally about to solder in some mini LEDs to have a backlit display. Your video has saved me the install and test time. Thank you!

    The P1 (parameter) is the el engine power. To have help for higher speed, set higher number.

      It's been awhile since I read the manual, but I remember concluding that it was easier to install a physical switch in the throttle wiring. Not saying it's impossible, but I wasn't able to figure it out when asked previously.

    Hello, do you know if it's possible the throttle funcion turn off ?

    • @DotDotMatrix
      @DotDotMatrix  7 місяців тому

      I think I remember looking into that and concluding that I unplugging the connection or installing a switch to turn the throttle on and off was the easiest solution… but I may have missed some details in the manual.

      Page25-26 of the manual that can be found when searching “kt-lcd5 ebike display user manual” has something about a maximum current value… but it is beyond what I know how to do. Not sure if ur referring to “tuning” or “over-clocking” …. trying to get the most out of existing hardware… but I don’t know anything about that stuff.

    I have a 500w hub motor with 36v battery but it only gets me 29 kmp which is very less than my previous 350w so Guys does anybody know how to unlock speed form KT LCD 5 at least I want it to be 38kmp to 40kmp

    • @DotDotMatrix

      I assume this is same bike and controller box, but a new motor. Sometimes motor ratings can be flaky the 350 could have been more powerful than claimed and the 500 could be less powerful than claimed.... but if the motor is turning off when 29 kph is reached what does it say the speed limit is set to when you power on LCD and hold up and down arrows to get to the menu..? I think mine was 46 kph by default, but 18k is what a Class 1 ebike would be... like bikes with a 250 watt motor.

    • @REDBooy47
      @REDBooy47 2 місяці тому

      Huh! When I checked it was 72kmp as default and also when I decrease the tyre size from 26 to 6 inch by the program itself I got speed kmp as per tyre inch is shown,
      like if I set the tyre to 20 inch the kmp will only show top speed to 20 kmp but speed remain the same
      so I'm very confused at this point now 😔

      Tire size setting is used to calculate speed based on rotations of the tire and it's diameter, it doesn't affect the actual speed. I think the issue is a limitation with the motor or the controller box (which the box should say what it's rated voltage and rated current is), so if I had a 36v battery with my controller box which can push 13amps it would provide 36*13= 468 Watts on average that the "500 Watt" motor can use... if the box is ratted for less volts or less amps then you're not utilizing as much power as the motor is capable of producing.... If the controller box is sized correctly (like in my example 468 Watts is close enough to 500 and might exceed it when the battery is fully charged)... then it's the motor that is under performing... Cause the speed limiter is set to above the speed you are able to reach.... when you reach the speed limit the motor shuts off... it's very obvious when speed limiting is happening... if that makes any sense 🧐

      @@DotDotMatrix 😯! That explains a lot thanks 👍 and one last question how can I use a dual 350w hub motor, can it work on a single 350w,48v controller or Do I have to buy some other 750w controller ?

      The easiest way to make a 2 wheel drive bike is to get a separate controller box and throttle for the 2nd wheel, basically getting a kit with motor if desired. (I haven't done the full research on how to make it work with 1 controller box...it might be doable) But I like the idea of having Left and Right handlebar throttles so u can choose to use rear drive when taking off and engage front drive to increase top speed... also you would have to wire your front brake into the controller for your front motor so it can work as a kill switch when braking... and same for the rear brake to rear motor.

    how do i turn off the manual throttle?

    • @DotDotMatrix
      @DotDotMatrix  Рік тому

      It’s easiest to just unplug it… I was looking at the manual (page 24-25) C4 Throttle Function Settings and theres a table of settings that are dependent on P4 Throttle Start Up Settings (page 20)… You get into those menus by holding up and down after startup for General Project Settings (what’s in the video) and then doing it again to get to P menu and again to get to C menu … more complicated than what I want to deal with and it doesn’t clearly indicate that it would disable the throttle, but if you do change values… write down what they originally were 1st.

      C4 is best set to 4 this will make your throttle speed limited by the pas level you are in😊

    Will this one change max speed of Sushi Maki 3 which is limited to 25kmh in Germany. It has a KT controller. Thanks!

    • @DotDotMatrix
      @DotDotMatrix  6 місяців тому

      Hypothetically if it has a KT controller and is 36-48v… Depends how easy it is to access controller and swap the connections… I wouldn’t try it unless it was easy to undo… I think people were putting these on Super73s, but I might be remembering wrong ….long story short I don’t have a definitive answer for you…sorry.

      @@DotDotMatrix Thank you! The Sushi Maki 3 has a 24v and the KT-LCD5 supports based on specs from online Shops 24/36/48v. The bike is limited to support not more than 25kmh. I don't look for anything crazy since the bike is a single speed. But 30 instead of 25 would be nice :)
