I like what you did to your rig. My opinion would be to keep the wood cabinets, maybe sand them for a weathered look and change the hardware to update it.
I love the warmth that wood cabinets bring to the interior of a camper that tends to be floor to ceiling plastic and metal. However, I would paint the raised panel of one or two cabinet doors with either black chalkboard paint or cover it with whiteboard material for family communication...Hey, Mom we went to the pool...or Honey please pick up milk while in town, kind of stuff.
My suggestion is to paint all the cabinets white. Cool, clean, and will minimize visual clutter... not to mention brighten everything even more. You’ve done a terrific job so far, enjoy your travels!
Beautifully done! We own a 2005 Fleetwood Revolution. We are just finishing a renovation. I took down that awful border, window treatments and painted the walls white did peel and stick wall paper in the 1/2 bath and now finishing the back full bath today with subway tiles and white walls. We have the same light colored cabinets and I think they look so much better once I got rid of the marveled brown colored walls. Lol Love your idea of painting the air conditioner vents. Looking forward to seeing your bath renovation! Great videos! Safe travels.
Good job Charity and Ben on the reno, I like the windows being open rather than boxing them in with valences, the bunk beds fit the space well. The flooring looks good. I like the colour of the the cabinets, it gives it that home comfort feel, rather than a sterile contemporary look that painting the cabinets grey or white might create. Glad you got all your work done in time for your trips, hope you have a great time on the road and I look forward to the upcoming adventures of your family.
At first I was thinking dang they could’ve painted those cabinets but as you panned back and around I really liked it. That color isn’t as “dated” looking and if you paint you’re adding extra cleaning maintenance. Trust me I painted my home kitchen white and it looks nice until you see the grub that happens quickly with kids and pets. It looks amazing all you did and I love your organization tips for less work when breaking down for travel days. Great job! New subscriber so I’ll be stalking all your videos here soon.
The exterior looks more modern to me so now the whole thing looks more modern. I really like the flooring. We also travel with our great pyrenees! So glad to find your channel!!!
When you have a light color wall you should actually put darker cabinets it’ll make things look a lot slicker and more luxurious if you paint them either a dark gray or black. Thank you so much for your content happy travels✌️❤️
I love the mods you have made. I m getting a rig this summer and will probably borrow some of your ideas...thanks for sharing!!! My suggestion is to go white on the cabinets, you may consider gray on the base cabinets to match the bunks and tie all that together, but definitely white on the uppers!
I think it looks great. The bunk bed turned out nice. I like the window shades. I really like the window film on the windows. We used window firm years ago and made a large DIY stained glass piece on plexiglass for our frosted master bathroom window. It looked amazing. I want to use that peel and stick paper on our walls in our rig.
Charity I have been watching you for a couple years now - love you love the channel. I started watching your reno series - thinking about buying an older class A like you did. Ben is adorable and your kids are more visible in this series what a wonderful family you have. Keep doing what you are doing ! thank you for all of the work and time you put into these videos
I'm renovating too and this video is very helpful. Had no idea roll out vinyl was available which looks so good! I'm definitely choosing this over laminate click lock. As far are your cabinets go, please DON'T PAINT THEM! They are beautiful and warm and give a nice natural glow. Just keep them well maintained and they'll keep their beauty. Too much gray in interiors these days, plus you have brown floors so gray would be so depressing. Thanks for all these videos, they're helping me feel more confident in my renovation.
Lol Im a new resident to Florida 1 year. My neighbors sweetly laughed and corrected me that Bealls is pronounced Bells. I have shopped for the coolest stuff there. We are finally got a build on the RV were ordered Aug 2020. Sadly fuel will limit our travels
How fabulous!! We don’t travel full time but we just bought our FIRST travel trailer with a bunk house. I can’t wait to get into it and make it our own. We have 5 kiddos and can’t wait to get on the road for our first adventure!! Thank you for sharing.
With all those white walls, I like the wood cabinets for some color. Everything white seems cold and uninviting to me, it also lacks imagination. I might paint the bottom cabinets in the kitchen a great color like blue, gray, or the color of the bunks, but leave all the upper cabinets wood. Nice remodel for your family. 😃
Beautiful reno and making this your home. I would definitely paint the cabinets.....I have white cabinets and they show every bit of anything so I would use a light gray. I think you would have a much easier time with not needing to follow behind everyone removing fingerprints or smudges.
Amazing job I say paint the cabinets. I repainted my cabinets I actually sprayed them everyone thought I just got new cabinets I didn’t tell them until the second time around.
Very informative, thanks. Re: your question about your cupboards -- they look just fine, but I would spray paint them white sometime in the future, and I think that will brighten up the space even more to s suprising degree. Not a criticism, just an answer to your question.
Thanks for the feedback. Since this video was made (about a year ago) we have since painted the cabinets. You can see a newer updated video here: ua-cam.com/video/rc1TiTODya8/v-deo.html
Hi guys. Good idea. I wish you can look at our camper. Your so good what you do to fix your camper. I’am not good to do what you do I have big camper. Thank for the ideas.
So, you have all this maple ( or at least maple veneer ) wood cabinets, very nice clean look, and you build your beds out of crappy construction grade spruce 2x4's! For a couple of hundred bucks more you could have got some beautiful maple had it dressed and cut. The result would've been a gorgeous bed frame that would match your cabinets and look as if it had been designed that way. Good idea, good effort but... obviously it works quite well for you. Enjoy your RV.
Love the Renovations. We have some of the mix tiles in our travel trailer, they really add to the inside. Cant wait to see your next adventures. Safe travels.
Love all the work you guys have done! We are in contract on a Tiffin Allegro open road and we will be doing some renovations as well. Are you guys planning to paint the cabinets? If so, please do a video 😀😀
Recommend NOT painting cabinets. The light wood keeps it less “sterile”, more “homey”. Plus have seen that RV wood painting prep makes walls and backsplash look trivial.. See “You Me and the RV “ video...
Love your remodel. Love that you didn’t paint the cabinets. Those look great. Painting them never looks great after a few trips - unless all are removed and refinished professionally. But since yours are light and high quality I agree with your decision to keep them as is. Bunk looks like a great mod as does your replacement dinette.
Chalk paint would work great on the cabinets or an all in one mineral paint. Even if you have never painted before you can paint your Rv cabinets easily and have them look really nice. Check out Dixie Bell paint company for chalk paint and all in one paint or Heirloom Traditions paint company for all in one paint. Neither require any sanding or primer. Chalk paint requires a topcoat of wax or sealer. I started painting my kitchen cabinets and then stopped because I got sick but they covered up the oak perfectly. If I were going to choose a paint for your cabinets, I would be tempted to go for that kind of pale turquoise color that is in your pillows on the sofa. Or gray is very popular. Or white on the top and color on the bottom.
When it comes time for bathroom remodel look at the Leggari Products youtube videos on epoxy countertops paint. They have great instructional how to videos.
I’m so happy I found this great renovation for our same RV! It looks great and much lighter/brighter. Super realistic upgrades! Did you upgrade your TVs to smart TVs? If so, what model fits? Have you upgraded your back camera/gps/infotainment center?
Yes! We did upgrade to smart TVs that connect up to our WI-FI. We had an old CRT in there before. I put in a few Samsung’s, but you will have to measure. The small one in the back bedroom, I actually mounted up with a long strip of velcro on all 4 sides (on the front face of the TV mounted behind the wood panel). It hasn’t come down once! I haven’t upgraded that yet, but am in the research phase as my old crt monitor is going out. I’ll post what I find on our blog.
It's been3 months since your post & I hope you have not painted your cabinets white like everyone else! Keep the wood - it warms the place up. Great mods!

@@GratefulGlamper Thank you for replying so quickly! So, is it a panel to the left of the bathroom door and not another door? Maybe the toilet area is directly behind the panel? Why does it look like it has a handle? I'm sorry my brain is so confused! Ha!
@@86bIDO52JF I'm thinking what you are seeing is a swinging door that is on a hinge that just lays flat against the wall but can be closed off for privacy in the area between where the toilet sink is and the shower.

Thanks! We go over the fix at the end of our video from last Sunday. DIY RV Remodeled Class A Motorhome With HUGE Bunkhouse (Our Tiny Home) ua-cam.com/video/l4HRIx2gLkM/v-deo.html - We needed up having to make a mod with a cutting board for the slide to glide on.
@@GratefulGlamper Opps missed it......The floor infill is perfect. My removable thin glide strips I made, serve the same purpose. Look at the Olfa fabric cutting mats. You may want to use those in the middle of the slide. The floor of the slide box may droop and scratch that lovely vinyl. Thanks for the link on those button lights....yes our scones are ugly.

Is there any difference with space after the renovation when the slides are in while traveling? I know sometimes you can't put out the slides in rest stops or some places you just park for a few hours.
We have about 45k miles on it right now. In the 3 years we’ve owned it, we’ve made a few repairs to the engine - consisting of a née power steering pump and a new fan belt hub and belt. We’ve never had to repair the generator, only perform routine maintenance.

Ooh, thanks for the suggestion!
Which shades did you get from home depot? The link just brings me to the home depot homepage...i hate my rv blinds and would love to go that route!
They are these ones and they will cut them to fit. Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

@@GratefulGlamper thank you!!🙂
Is there any difference with space after the renovation when the slides are in while traveling? I know sometimes you can't put out the slides in rest stops or some places you just park for a few hours.
There is not any difference- everything still fits on the slide pit where we added the bunks, etc . Nothing hangs off the slide.
Very nice.
Thanks!
great job ...
Thanks!
How many miles do you have on your diesel pusher? I’m new to your videos so don’t know. Have you had to do work on the engine and generator?
We have about 45k miles on it right now. In the 3 years we’ve owned it, we’ve made a few repairs to the engine - consisting of a née power steering pump and a new fan belt hub and belt. We’ve never had to repair the generator, only perform routine maintenance.
As a 5 year full timer I have redone my whole 5th wheel. If you have interest in further upgrades at a great price call Custom RV furniture in Milford Indiana (Elkhart area). I can send you a link of what we have done if you are interested. Thanks in advance.
Thanks! Please send the info of where you sourced your furniture as we’re already looking for options.
How did you resolve the issue with the slide ripping the sheet vinyl
You can see our fix at about 25:30 in this video DIY RV Remodeled Class A Motorhome With HUGE Bunkhouse (Our Tiny Home) ua-cam.com/video/l4HRIx2gLkM/v-deo.html
