So then, about our Turbo Blue A3. It comes standard with a 10.25-inch driver display and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. I found it very quick to switch between D, N, and R when using this shift-by-wire gear selector, even though I miss an actual lever to rest my hand on while driving. I’m slowly getting used to the touch-sensitive knob for the volume adjustments even though I much prefer a simply physical knob.
Our A3 35 TFSI has a 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 150 PS and 250 .m of torque and paired to an 8-speed S Tronic gearbox also known as a dual-clutch. It’s not necessarily a fast gearbox but works perfectly with the wheel-mounted paddles. It weighs 1,285 kg only so 100 km/h can be reached in 8.4 seconds. I honestly think you don’t need the larger 2L of the 40 TFSI as this 1.4L is punchy and torquey enough.
